Fashion and Origami - Cary Santiago on Philippine Fashion Week SS 2013

little black dress with Japanese crane accent, designed by Cebuano Filipino fashion designer Cary Santiago

Own a black dress and you will never be out of fashion. Black dress, as popularized by Coco Chanel is the best must have piece that you have in your wardrobe. You can wear it in various occasions, without being judge. I mean, because black is basic - it goes with everything.

Fashion is not all about what's in a trend. Fashion is an art, developed with minds and soul as the designers delicately planned and studied each details, each structures - the finale execution.
Just like origami (art of folding papers) it is an art - each strokes and delicate folds, and also the papers been used symbolizes a message. And if the two different form of art combines - it gives a one magnificent result. Like what Cary Santiago did in his latest Spring Summer Collection 2013.

In his collection, two arts inspired by nature are combined. His versions of little black dress, has the accents of Japanese cranes and lizards - even butterflies, that are artistically folded and sewed, to create a state of the art pieces - truly worthy to be in your closet. Here's Cary Santiago's creations:
