Always expect the unexpected. In this case, a fashion house working to create a fragrance that smells like a macaron and vice-versa. French fashion house Nina Ricci has teamed up with the world’s most delicious macaron maker, Ladurée, to create a most delicious perfume and its matching macaron full of fragrance.
Professional le nez Olivier Cresp, Nina Ricci’s perfumer from Firmenich and Ludurée’s head pastry chef Vincent Lemains worked over several months to get the correct combinations. The result is the perfume and a macaron named “La Tentation de Nina”.
The perfume bears fruity floral composition of top notes in Italian bergamot and grapefruit, and base notes Bourbon vanilla, white musk and sandalwood. The fragrance is enhanced by the middle note of macaron accord consisting raspberry, almond, lemon and the absolute note Bulgarian rose. The matching Ladurée macaron uses the flavors of the macaron accord.

The limited edition “La Tentation de Nina” eau de toilette will go on sale on January 20 in select perfume shops with a price tag of €58 (approx. $80) for 50ml bottle. The matching macarons will be available at Ladurée’s boutiques worldwide.
