The newest offering for aesthetes is “Art For All Manila: The Affordable Art Fair 2014” that shall run from February 14 to 16 at the 3rd floor of SM Aura premier in Taguig City
The success of ManilArt 2013 held at the SMX Convention Center-Taguig in October of last year was marked by the broadened range of viewers as it enticed leisure shoppers of the upscale retail hub as well. Spurred by the welcoming crowds, the organizers, together with SM Aura, engaged galleries for AFAM in an effort to sustain continued art showcases that not only exhibit an eclectic mix for a varied audience and a spread that would hopefully be educational for the uninitiated but this time with the perk of affordability.
The increasing art fairs of the ‘affordable’ tagline have been a great draw for art enthusiasts abroad and is the same inspiration for Art For All Manila (AFAM). Apart from artwork, artist-made objects and utilitarian artistry shall be on display and with friendly tag prices that coincidentally may be perfect Valentine gifts.
As an additional treat to mall-goers, a series of activities shall be open to the public on February 16, 2014. The program includes a talk by Prima Ballerina Lisa Macuja-Elizalde, a dance excerpt from the classical ballet, Le Corsaire (The Pirate), and a demonstration of a ballet class featuring the scholars of Ballet Manila’s Project Ballet Futures with choreographies by one of the country’s finest principal danseurs, Osias Barroso, Jr., and France-based choreographer, Ernest Mandap.
