If we had to describe Haradani-en in one sentence phrase it would be "Cherry Blossom Heaven", or maybe "Cherry Blossom Dreamland". Haradani-en, located in Northern Kyoto, is a privately owned garden famous for its beautiful, (and we mean BEAUTIFUL), cherry blossoms. We thought we'd seen cherry blossoms before, but my gosh this place simply took our breath away.
There are over 400 Sakura trees at Haradani-en and they come in 20 different styles. As you walk up the path, sakura trees drape over you left and right. The walk around the garden, takes about 15-20 minutes. Walking through, it felt like, fairies were going to fly out of the garden at any second. It was that magical.
The sakura season at Haradani-en for 2014 has come to a close, but if you are in Kyoto for the 2015 sakura season we definitely recommend you go to Haradani-en. More information about the garden is in our photos. Enjoy!
