Midnight Museum: A Night of Art Inspiration and Party

Ever wondered what happens inside the Ayala Museum after dark? Do the tiny people of the dioramas come to life? Do the spirits of Luna, Amorsolo, and Zobel roam the halls of the galleries to see their works? Do museum mumus really exist? Here’s a chance to find out for yourself.

For the first time ever, the Ayala Museum is opening its doors to everyone who wants to experience a night at the museum. Midnight Museum happens this October 31, 2014 with all galleries open for viewing from 8:00PM until you guessed it - 12 midnight.

In the fanciful spirit of Halloween, guests are also strongly encouraged to come in costume for a chance to be recognized for Costume of the Night by Young Star!

Finally! Exhibits till late

It will be a night of inspiring Philippine art, history, and culture with a touch of whimsy and a pinch of horror. Midnight Museum tickets, sold at Php 500 each (or Php 450 for employees of Ayala Group of Companies and Ayala Museum members), include admission to all galleries.

This is a chance for people who are always completely busy during the day to finally see the well-loved Diorama Experience of Philippine History (will we see the ghost of Andres Bonifacio?) and the awe-inspiring Gold of Ancestors exhibitions (golden funerary masks! Gasp!).

Two headline contemporary art exhibitions will also be kept open for viewing: Mexico: FantasticIdentity, 20th Century Masterpieces from the FEMSA Collection featuring the works of Frida Kahlo, Diego Rivera, José Clemente Orozco and other Latin American masters; and Journey Through Space: The Visual Odyssey of Fernando Zobel.

Tricks, treats and more up our sleeves!

There will also be special activities to make the night like no other. This includes a screening of The Voices of a Distant Star by award winning director Shinkai Makoto, a short animated film from the Japan Foundation film library, with robots, aliens, romance, and something for everybody.

The Sipat Lawin Ensemble will also join the fun with a special performance-tour entitled Apparition, taking guests on a mysterious journey throughout the whole museum (only for the brave of heart!)

The ticket also serves as a stub for one complimentary drink or 50% off on special cocktails from Museum Café that night, where the fun continues after midnight. The after party, dubbed Carte Blanche, will include live performances, visuals, DJ sets and deadly Halloween cocktails.
