French patisserie Laduree has confirmed its entry into the Philippines.
The Parisian retailer – famous for its macarons, will open in Rockwell at Makati City in greater Manila on July 19.
The brand is being brought to the Philippines by franchisee H&F Retail Concepts, whose MD Mark Gonzalez says the store will sell macarons flown into the country from Paris.
The first Laduree store will take up just 55 sqm of retail space. It will be followed by a Laduree salon de the tea salon and patisserie in another Manila location next year.
Founded in 1862, Laduree pioneered the macaron which has in recent years become a cult food item, superseding the cupcake craze.
H&F’s owns the Philippines franchises for retail brands including Balenciaga, Fred Perry, Pylones and operates multi-brand boutiques trading under the the Univers and homme et femme banners.
