“It didn’t ring true,” Lupita says of being discouraged to act in Kenya because of her skin tone. In Elsa’s apartment in the Schiaparelli couture house, Lupita wears a Schiaparelli Haute Couture velvet dress.

“When you know a dress is handmade, it completely changes the experience of wearing it,” says Lupita of attending her first couture shows.
