Shu Uemura collaborates with Korean brand KYE for its newest makeup collection

Shu Uemura collaborates with Korean brand KYE

Collaborating with designer Kathleen Kye of Korean street label KYE, Shu Uemura proves that it has got its finger firmly on the pulse of what's hip

If you haven't heard of Kathleen Kye and her high-end Korean streetwear label KYE, you have now. The brand was started by Kye —  an American born, Seoul-raised designer who studied at the prestigious Central Saint Martins — in 2011. Popular among K-pop stars and streetwear afficionados, the brand is famous for its quirky and clever prints as well as its experimentation with techniques to create high-quality garments. Its latest collaboration with Shu Uemura is certainly inspired — both brands were started by Asian artists who were pioneers in their respective fields.

The makeup and haircare collection consists of 24 limited-edition products that bear the funky motifs of the brand — think headphones, bandaids and coffee cups — that aptly represent the youth of today. Among the products that come in the  distinctive KYE-designed packaging are the Brow Palette, Sheer Color Balm, Fresh Cushion Blush as well as three kinds of Shu Uemura Art of Hair shampoos.

Here are the particular products that got our hearts all aflutter. And remember run, don't walk if you want to get hold of your favorites.
