How to Enjoy Me-Time at Davao City Hotels for less than $50 per night

Philippine Travels, Davao City travel, cheap hotels in Davao City

Hello Girlfriends!

How’s your weekend? Have you gone and enjoyed your planned weekend trip with your BAE? Or it got cancelled again for the nth time? I know the feeling, but don’t worry because I have something to share you and I know you’ll going to love this post.

Few more sleeping nights and it’s already our favourite time of the year – Christmas season!

Yey!!!!

I love this season not only because of Christmas festivities, well-prepped foods and home Christmas décor, flowing gifts etc. I love this season coz it is the only season of the year where-in I could have my relaxation with the pressure of going back to work so soon (like answering petty  inquiries or snooping with co-bloggers gossips, lol).

For more of you who are freelancers – lucky you! You’ve got yourselves all your time decide for your own, and have a pampering whenever you wish. You control your business, and well as your time.

And there are times that I’m feeling jealous…

I considered myself blogging in full-time, while still with my professional job side-by-side but still with some limitations.

Just like most, I’m also dreaming of working ANYWHERE, LITERALLY!

Waking-up at your own time, enjoying my newest brewed coffee in the morning while reading the broadsheet of the day, then partaking the morning breakfast and enjoying it (that for me lasted for two hours!), then WORK on my computer and resume the day..

Isn’t that amazing?!

Then one-day I would fly down-south in Davao City whenever I get tired of the crazy-busy life here in the main Metro. To enjoy the local life, which inspires me to write. Ahh someday this would not just be my thoughts, rather next time you’ll read this kind of post, I would be literally in that dreamy work-lifestyle – living the dream, Hahahaha

Speaking of Davao City, I’m always fascinated and I truly admire how organized the city. Well, in spite of the most recent terror happened at its local night-market, overall Davao City still one of the best city in the world.

The city itself is very interesting, and as a local tourist myself – I would like to enjoy that peaceful and exciting trip in the daylight, and have a relaxing and enjoyable night-time with my chosen Davao City hotels.

Okay, if you’re constantly visiting this website, you’ll probably noticed that I’m not so much into budget hotel accommodations. Why??!!

Philippine Travels, Davao City travel, cheap hotels in Davao City

Not that I’m against with budget accommodation, it’s just that for my personal preferences – I felt like budget accommodation doesn’t suits me well. I always ended up not feeling happy and satisfied, which my fault coz I booked that hotel. I can’t complain in the first place because, I have a choice not to get it in the first place, but still I did.

So for years I always opt for mid-tier, and of course high-end to luxury hotels! I think no one would say NO for luxury hotels especially if you’re an invited guest, hahaha.

I would check-in as fast as I could, together with my overnight bag, LOL.

But today I’m sharing you some of the mid-tier Davao City hotels which are, based on my personal opinion and taste would be suitable for fellow sensitive-traveler like me.

But $50 per night of accommodation is honestly not a mid-tier in terms of price in-general for most in the hotel industry. This is rather way cheap actually, but location and lifestyle wise, in Davao City these accommodations are considered mid-tier.

If you are REALLY into a budget accommodation, you can find cheap hotels in Davao City here.

Whenever I travel, I also consider the hotel that I will be staying for that travel period. Just like my own home, I want it to be always clean and tidy, smelling so nice every day and when I wake up.

And the most very important part are, have nice and comfortable bed and a hot shower (a huge bonus if the room has a bath tub).

Here’s my top 5 choices of Davao City hotels:

PARK INN BY RADISSON DAVAO

Philippine Travels, Davao City travel, cheap hotels in Davao City
A member of Carlson Rezidor Hotel Group, Park Inn by Radisson Davao having 204 fully air conditioned  rooms, is one of the mid-tier to upscale property in Davao. What I do like about this place is the convenience and accessibility to the mall and other entertainment places in Davao City.

They have a complimentary newspaper everyday, free high speed WIFI in all areas of the hotel, coffee and tea, laundry service and pressing. If you are in the city for your scheduled work-trip, this is a place for you.

This is also known as one of the most family-friendly hotel in Davao as they have amenities for family use, family rooms, free babysitting and caregiving, and guests could also request for crib for their babies.

THE ROYAL MANDAYA HOTEL DAVAO

If you want to sleep in an exotic appeal, I believe you will like The Royal Mandaya Hotel Davao. This property having 181 fully air conditioned rooms, smoke-free hotel offers free WIFI, spa facilities, 24 hour-room service, with flat-screen television and cable channel. They also offer free newspapers, tour/ticket assistance, and the most awesome service – free grocery shopping service!

THE PINNACLE HOTEL AND SUITES

This is what I’m taking about earlier – aahhh isn’t that so inviting to have a R&R in your tub?

The Pinnacle Hotel and Suites having 214 fully air conditioned rooms offers free breakfast included to your room every day. They also have free WIFI in all rooms and public areas, indoor pool (that’s awesome too!), restaurant facilities, gym facilities, and daily complimentary newspaper, bottled waters, toiletries, etc. This is also a family-friendly hotel so you could bring your kiddos with you!

HOTEL TROPIKA DAVAO

Philippine Travels, Davao City travel, cheap hotels in Davao City
Look at that outdoor pool! That screams SUMMMMERRRR!!!!

As its name suggest, Hotel Tropika makes you feel it always summer time in the south! This property with only 30 rooms (yeah quite minimal) offers order-to-cook breakfast, you ask it – will serve it :D
They also have free WIFI in all rooms and public areas, dry cleaning service, and airport pickup. These fully air conditioned rooms includes complimentary coffee and teas, bottles waters, and a flat screen TV with cable.

Unfortunately little one, you can’t come with me.

These hotels are super human friendly, but pets are not allowed. I think nowadays hotel managements should update their hotel policies of allowing pets with their guests, because pet are part of the family too!

And allowing pets in the hotel is another opportunity for the management to offer additional pets-only services, which are appealing for the guests.

Why not go to other cheaper hotel? After all, you’re just going to sleep in it.

I’ve learned that too cheap hotel means you don’t have to expect of anything, and to be upfront, there is nothing special about it. You are tired outside after your work-trip, and then the only consolation is enjoying your tired back laying in your soft and clean sheets, after taking a warm bath.

Would I compromise that kind of little pleasure for a cheap hotels?

Definitely I wouldn’t.

And to be more honest, it is more inviting to stay in a not so cheap hotel, especially if you’ll going to brag your most precious Davao holidays to friends and colleagues.

Affordable, convenient, comfortable and secured place – that’s the perfect holidays for me!

And a good background for my Instagrammable holiday photos, lol

Have you been to these hotels in Davao? How’s your experience? I would LOOOOVVEEE to hear your escapades :D

xoxo, Blair

  12. I can honestly say, I switch it up entirely too much when it comes to lodging. If I am abroad, I usually end up in hostels. Domestically with a friend, I'll usually end up in an AirBNB but this past weekend I splurged on a hotel. I felt guilty initially but it was nice to have the perks that came with it. It doesn't hurt to treat yourself occasionally.

Yeah if it is for yourself, it is definitely okay to splurge a bit. There is no sense on spending if you wont feel satisfied
