How’s your weekend? I guess no matter how much we try to be relax despite all those busy chores at work, still sometimes we can’t help but panic, right?
Hahaha I sometimes do, and when it comes to me – do you believe that the best thing I could do is just sleep on it?
LOL it’s crazy right? But it works! Because when I woke up I feel refresh and rebooted, ready to start to face that effin challenge I’ve slept on the other night(s), LOL.
Friday night supposed to be my “me-time” relaxing after work with my favorite Bordeaux while watching my favorite television series (the me-time version I do while my hot dada is not around), but this Friday is kind of different.
So after me and my assistant-zilla Lexa attending a VIP Shopping Party at SM Megamall, we decided to drop-by at the PBS Café at Metrowalk as we were invited to join the 3rd leg kick-off party of the UnionBank’s U:HAC Manila.
Various teams are composed of students from different schools and universities, plus professionals teaming up with full of enthusiasm and excitement in bringing up the most creative solutions to the 10 wicked challenges presented to them by the organizers.
The challenges ranged on coming up with potential solutions on problems centered on education, unemployment, banking in the future, pollution, climate change, healthcare, poverty, community building, disaster resilience and building sustainability.
The teams selected the challenge they were interested to resolve. With just their laptops and creative juices, they did an all-nighter to develop their digital solutions and coding to the challenges.
The third leg was held at UnionBank Plaza located in Ortigas Center, Pasig City last November 26 to 27 – a 24-hour live hackathon which in my personal opinion participants needs to drink-up more energy think to keep you awake, and your minds keep working while building codes and application from ground zero, based on the assigned guidelines.
OMG! Yeah I don’t know how to code (I just lucky to understand the code of this website, and my personal code) but building an application within 24-hours is like a cramming maniac racing for the grand prize. Well not bad if the prize is worth Php80,000 tax-free.
The best part of the night is being entertained by one of the best Filipino music band, which happens to be my favorite, FREESTYLE.
