And of course, Philippine hotels also got recognition and graded more stars! The Philippines' hotels that made it to the top are as follows:

1. Marco Polo Ortigas Manila - Graded 5-Star by Forbes Travel Guide 2017

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

Located 24 stories above the bustling Ortigas business district is the lavish lobby of Marco Polo Ortigas Manila, one of the three Marco Polo Hotels in the Philippines. (The other two are in Cebu and Davao.) Opened in 2014 and dubbed as a "sky hotel" because it sits atop a mixed-use building, it is the first of its kind in the country.

The hotel is a celebration of artistry thanks to the architectural design concept by Mohri Architect & Associates and the interior look by Canada's Glyph Design Studio. The evocative pieces of artwork by young Filipino artist Jinggoy Buensuceso are displayed throughout the 23 levels of the hotel, its way of embracing and showcasing local culture and artistry.

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

The Rooms

The Manila hotel has 316 guest rooms spread across 19 floors, all with a stunning view of the growing metropolis or the lavish greenery of the neighboring province of Rizal. The vista is even more captivating at night with the city lights below and the velvet night sky above.

Rooms feature muted earth tones with accents of gold and bronze for a touch of glamour. All accommodations are equipped with an executive desk, a high-speed Internet connection, an in-room safe, flat-screen TVs, a Nespresso machine, a tea station, a well-stocked mini-bar and a gorgeous marble bathtub and rain shower in the spacious bathrooms.

Guests staying at any of the luxury hotel suites are entitled to personalized check-in and checkout services (no more queuing by the front desk), access to a private reception area, and complimentary professional grooming services, such as suit pressing and shoe shines. All suites come with personal butlers, afternoon tea and cocktails, and breakfast for two.

The 1,615-square-foot Marco Polo Suite has a spacious and well-appointed living area with an L-shaped sofa, a dedicated dining area, three LED televisions (including one in the bathroom) and a fully stocked kitchen.

Marco Polo is also known for its all-out services via the Continental Club. There are 23 Continental Club Rooms located at the topmost level of the hotel building. These are loaded with club privileges, including exclusive access to the Continental Club Lounge on the 44th floor, which has a meeting room, a library and a bar lounge, not to mention stunning panoramas of the city skyline and beyond.

The Restaurants

Whether you're craving authentic Cantonese cuisine, hungry for a bountiful buffet, needing a boost with a good cup of coffee or simply relaxing with friends over some drinks, Marco Polo likely has what you seek.

Café Pronto at the ground-floor lobby is ideal for coffee and dessert lovers. Aside from caffeinated beverages and assorted cakes, Café Pronto also offers non-caffeinated drinks, smoothies, fresh fruit juices, pastries, sandwiches and irresistible chocolate creations.

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

Across the main lobby at the 24th floor is Cucina, the hotel's all-day dining restaurant. Served buffet style, it is a remarkable array of international cuisine cooked in open kitchens.

Situated at the top of the building is Vu's, a sky bar and lounge. Sip signature cocktails, nibble on Mediterranean bites and take in the gorgeous view from the 45th floor. From Vu's, you can see the neighboring towns of Antipolo, Marikina and even the majestic Laguna Lake.

Finally, the luxury hotel is home to the acclaimed restaurant Lung Hin. Featuring authentic and traditional Cantonese dishes created by seasoned chefs from Hong Kong, Lung Hin has gained recognition throughout the Philippines. Be sure to try the signature classic: three-flavored prawns, luscious prawns covered with three types of sauces — salted egg, blueberry and red ginger.

Marco Polo Ortigas Manila

2. Sky Tower at Solaire Resort and Casino

Solaire Resort and Casino

The gleaming 17-story Sky Tower, located within Solaire Resort and Casino, is the most recent addition to the resort company’s growing gaming complex along the picturesque Manila Bay in the Philippines. Considered a VIP extension of the Solaire Bay Tower, Sky Tower exudes luxury without compromising utility — from the main entrance adorned with a glamorous Swarovski chandelier to the exquisitely decorated suites.

Renowned hotel and casino architect Paul Steelman (famous for designing numerous high-end leisure properties in Las Vegas and Macau) headed up the sleek, dynamic design.

Sky Tower’s courteous and well-trained staff — clad in outfits designed by celebrated local fashion designer and innovator Rajo Laurel — represents fine Filipino hospitality, adding a whole new level of satisfaction to the all-suite Manila hotel.

Solaire Resort and Casino

The Suites
The 312 accommodations range from 700 square feet to an impressive 2,023 square feet. Most suites feature a stunning view of Manila Bay and its breathtaking golden sunset, while others offer enthralling views of the skyline, especially beautiful at night.

All are fitted with environmentally conscious features, which appeal to all kinds of travelers — from businessmen and high-rollers to couples and even families looking to indulge for a night or two. The look: sleek and contemporary furnishings in eye-pleasing neutral color palettes that don’t compete with the floor-to-ceiling window views.
Solaire Resort and Casino

The Sky Studio Suite features a king or queen bed (depending on your preference), a 55-inch flat-screen TV, a fully stocked mini-bar and a spacious bathroom with a rain shower and separate soaking tub. The 1,700-square-foot Signature Suite features loads of space to keep families and friends comfortable — it’s a one-bedroom suite that houses a lavish king bed with 350-thread count linens, a separate dining and living area with a 55-inch flat-screen, and a well-stocked pantry.

Solaire Resort and Casino

And the large Grand Suite Three has two 55-inch flat-screens (one in the bedroom and the other in the living-slash-entertainment area). Choose between a king or two queen beds. The suite also has a dining area that can comfortably sit six to eight people, plus one master bathroom and a separate powder room.

Solaire Resort and Casino

The Spa
You’ll find the wellness center on the third floor of Solaire’s Bay Tower, adjacent to Sky Tower. The 14,000-square-foot spa and wellness center houses a state-of-the-art Jacuzzi, a dry sauna, a steam room and 10 treatment rooms for various spa treatments.

You also have free access to the fitness center, which has high-end gym facilities, including a workout room for those who enjoy yoga, Pilates and CrossFit training.

But if you’re looking for relaxation, head straight to the stunning outdoor pool, where you can chill in a private cabana and sip on a festive cocktail.

Solaire Resort and Casino

The Entertainment
You won’t be bored at the luxury hotel with all there is to do and see, including a theater (for dance, music and theatrical performances), a world-class casino and a shopping hub featuring high-end brands and products.

The 1,740-seat lyric theater has high-tech audio, video and lighting equipment and recently served as the venue for the historic Manila showing of one of the most celebrated musicals in history, Les Misèrables.

The Solaire Casino is a venue for high rollers and could easily rival recreational facilities in Macau and Las Vegas. Solaire is also home to The Forum, which has eight function rooms and two boardrooms — all fitted with audio-visual equipment for leisure and business programs and events.

Solaire Resort and Casino

The Dining
Under the watchful eye and discerning palate of seasoned executive chef Michael Dinges, Solaire is home to 19 world-class food and beverage outlets. The Sky Tower at Solaire houses three signature fine-dining restaurants featuring sumptuous Italian food at Finestra, exquisite Japanese fare at Yakumi, fine Korean specialties at Kiwa and authentic mouthwatering Cantonese cuisine at The Red Lantern.

The Macallan Whiskey Bar at the Sky Tower is the place for guests to sample the best whiskey from all over the world, while House of Zhou welcomes these guests to a private world of fine Cantonese dining.

For a no-fuss but enjoyable culinary experience, Sky Tower also has Fresh, a buffet restaurant featuring international cuisine; casual pan-Asian fare and live piano music at Oasis Garden Café; and Waterside Restobar, a Latin American and Mediterranean eatery with dishes galore. There’s also a food court, an Asian noodle joint and a lovely pool bar and grill — head here to watch Manila’s breathtaking sunsets.

3. Fairmont Makati

Fairmont Makati

A gleaming tower in Manila
Located in the Philippines’ central business district of Makati City, Fairmont Makati is a gleaming tower of modernity and comfort. The 280 tastefully contemporary guest rooms, restaurants and spa are spread across 30 levels.

The building was designed by international U.S.-based architectural firm Arquitectonica, and its sleek interiors were created by Bent Severin International. And while the Makati hotel is thoroughly stylish, it is also a tapestry of Filipino culture and influence.

Highlights
• Willow Stream Spa is a stunner, a 13,000-square-foot retreat equipped with a eucalyptus steam room, mineral pool, a nail studio, an adjacent fitness center and salon five treatment rooms.

• The outdoor pool on the fourth level is an urban oasis with a sun terrace and comfy loungers.

• Fairmont Gold Rooms and Suites are a luxe step up with bespoke services (private check-in,
complimentary suit and dress pressing) and access to an exclusive lounge that serves free-flowing refreshments all day long in a space with floor-to-ceiling windows and chic, comfy seating.

What to Know
• The location is superb for exploring the city — it is within walking distance of the Philippine Stock Exchange and Greenbelt Mall, a high-end shopping area. In fact, the hotel has a private underground passageway to nearby malls.

• The Manila hotel has also allocated 18,000 square feet of space for business meetings and functions, including a ballroom that can accommodate up to 720 guests.

• Fairmont Makati shares the building with Raffles Makati, and some of the building’s amenities can be found here.

The Rooms
• Guest rooms have a stunning mixture of modern design and Filipino warmth through touches of coco-twig white resin, crushed mahogany seeds, abaca laminated glass, pearl in-lays and dark mahogany wood.

• Expect state-of-the art technology, including wired and wireless high-speed internet, a media connectivity panel, a control panel for lighting and entertainment and flat-screen LED TVs with 65 cable television channels. There’s also a fully stocked mini-bar with complimentary tea and coffee-making facilities, too.

• Opulent bathrooms are clad in marble with a separate walk-in rain shower and a deep soaker tub. Linens and robes are 100 percent cotton towels and the bath products are from Le Labo in New York and made custom for Fairmont Hotels.

• Rooms have floor-to-ceiling windows with sweeping views of the city skyline.

• The Presidential Suite is 1,657 square feet of luxury with a separate living area, a large dining table, an executive work desk, a fully supplied kitchen, a well-curated wine library and a marble bathroom with a soothing tub and a separate rain shower.

The Restaurants
• Spectrum is the all-day dining restaurant and has five “culinary theaters” around the main room including cuisine from China, the Middle East, India, Europe and the Philippines. Spectrum offers buffet for lunch and dinner, and à la carte dishes in between.

• Café Macaron offers gourmet sandwiches, delightful pastas (the smoked bangus pasta is a must), and delectable desserts. The highlight of the café is its namesake, the macaron — be sure to try the Filipino flavors queso de bola (edam cheese) and burong mangga (fermented mangoes).

• Welcoming guests by the lobby is the Fairmont Lounge, which offers light meals, snacks, and beverages. While the lounge is the perfectly intimate for get-togethers yet professional enough for business discussions, at night it transforms into a destination for cocktail lovers to enjoy drinks and unwind.

• The Pool Bar is located poolside at the luxury hotel on and is an ideal place to sip cocktails and nosh on snacks while basking in the sun or savoring the picturesque Philippine sunset.

4. Hyatt City of Dreams Manila

Hyatt City of Dreams Manila

Hyatt City of Dreams Manila sits so close to Ninoy Aquino International’s runways that it’s technically considered an “airport hotel.” But we challenge anyone to name a property with that tag as attractive in design and demeanor as this one or either of the other two, Crown Towers Manila and Nobu Hotel Manila, making up the hotel component to the massive City of Dreams complex.

More than 15 acres in size, City of Dreams Manila offers the usual distractions — a casino, numerous restaurants and entertainment venues — you need for a long layover or a short vacation, but it’s the hotels that truly amaze.

The biggest property in the tantalizing trio, Hyatt City of Dreams Manila soars with 362 spacious rooms, two restaurants and one unwavering philosophy among its staffers to ensure that every customer request is met with a smile.

Highlights
• It won’t matter much if you’re onsite for business meetings or in the business of taking extended breaks, you’ll appreciate how public spaces and private quarters hit all the right notes with warm striped woods, shades of chocolate and other earthy decorative touches.

• We favor the Club rooms, which give you access to the seventh-floor club lounge in Tower II. Here you'll enjoy a VIP check-in and checkout along with all-day snacking.

What to Know
• If you can spring for an Aqua Suite, don’t hesitate to do so. In addition to gaining access to the treat-filled club lounge, the unit hits the absolute sweet spot in terms of views. The look from your floor-to-ceiling windows out onto Manila Bay is special.

The Rooms
• The suite’s massive windows and high ceilings give the place added depth, even though the 914 square feet aren’t bad to begin with. Though a bit more affordable, a similar theme of spaciousness applies to the Bay View Deluxe (592 square feet) and Club King (538 square feet) as well.

The Restaurants
• Follow the aromas to The Café for lunch and dinner. The impressive buffet at the Manila hotel should work for anyone in your group.

• Of course, if there’s someone in your clan who’d rather drink his calories than eat them, The Lounge is the ideal spot of cocktails or coffee.

• If, for some reason, neither of those options sounds appealing, you can always try one of City of Dream’s other casual establishments (Red Ginger, Apu) or reserve a table at Nobu, Crystal Dragon or any of the campus’ other more formal spots.

5. Raffles Makati

Raffles Makati

Raffles Makati debuted in a brand-new 30-story tower in the Philippines’ central business district, Makati City. Given its proximity to the Philippine Stock Exchange and numerous embassies, the hotel is a natural choice for business travelers. But it’s also right next to Greenbelt and other posh shopping malls and just a few minutes away from the trendiest bars, which lures in leisure guests as well.

Inside that new tower, you’ll find several properties: the 32-suite Raffles Makati hotel and 110-unit Raffles Makati Residences, which offers everything from a one-bedroom suite to a spacious four-bedroom option. Raffles Makati also shares the complex with another sought-after hotel, Fairmont Makati.

Despite being a new addition, Raffles Makati carries all the attributes that make its 1867 brand a standout, from the attentive, individualized service to the famed Singapore Sling (which was created at its sister Singapore property). Of course, the Philippines hotel adds its own local flavor (for example, it created its own decadent Makati Luxury Sling that includes 24k gold).
To stay at Raffles Makati is to experience modern amenities and Old World warmth.

Highlights
• Every stay at Raffles begins and ends with its exceptionally trained butlers. One of the greatest things about Raffles Makati is its stellar butler service, ensuring an unforgettable tailor-made stay.

• The property is filled to the brim with gorgeous and insightful artwork from local Filipino artists — 1,600 paintings, murals and sculptures, to be exact. The best part: The butlers are trained to give art tours of the hotel upon request.

• The hotel has become a foodie destination — thanks to in-house restaurants like Spectrum, The Writer’s Bar and the Provencal-themed brasserie Mirèio.

• Willow Stream Spa is one of Raffles Makati’s top amenities. It offers a haven of relaxation in the middle of the bustling business district. The exquisite treatments use the best products, like artisanal all-natural items from Aromatherapy Associates and Kerstin Florian.

What to Know
• Raffles Makati officially opened in February 2013 and has been one of the forerunners in the metro’s hospitality scene.

• The metro Manila hotel is home to 32 tastefully designed suites, each one tended to by dedicated butlers to take care of the guests needs and whims.

• The hotel is designed by global firm Bent Severin International. It reflects the Old World charm synonymous to the Raffles brand with nods to Filipino influence. The crisp white walls are the perfect backdrop for the fetching art from Filipino artists.

• Aside from being an all-suite hotel, the property also has Raffles Makati Residences. The Residences has 110 suites — varying from one to four bedrooms — perfect for travelers who are looking to stay within the city for 10 days and more.

• Raffles Makati shares amenities with Fairmont Makati, including a pool, the spa and the restaurants.

• The luxury hotel has its own private underground walkway that gives you direct access to the neighboring shopping malls.

The Rooms
• Raffles Makati is an all-suite property, which means you may choose from the 23 charming Junior Suites, the eight ample Executive Suites or the one and only Presidential Suite — a spectacular three-bedroom unit.

• All Raffles suites exude timeless Old World charm with a spacious layout, high ceilings, all-white interiors, hardwood accents, gorgeous artwork and touches of Filipino influences. All suites have floor-to-ceiling windows giving an unobstructed view of the city.

• The Executive and Presidential suites have separate living rooms and dining areas, plus a walk-in wardrobe and an additional guest bathroom. The Presidential Suite also comes with a kitchen for guests who would like to prepare their own meals.

• The suites feature a stunning all-marble bathroom with a deep-soaking tub, lavish terry robes and luxurious bath products especially made for Raffles.

• All suites come with high-definition LED televisions with cable channels, a state-of-the-art home entertainment system and a bedside control panel to adjust lighting and the entertainment system.

The Restaurants
• Don’t forget to check out the Long Bar, an exact replica of the famous bar of the same name in Raffles Singapore. Inspired by Malay plantations, the Long Bar boasts a tropical vibe with a hint of European flair. Make sure to take a shot (or two) of Sipsmith’s Raffles 1915 Gin, specially distilled for Raffles.

• The Writer’s Bar is just the place to leisurely read over drinks and snacks, made even better with the live lounge music. On the other side of the room, opposite the bar, you’ll find floor-to-ceiling bookshelves housing everything from classics to tomes written and signed by visiting authors.

• Spectrum is an all-day-dining restaurant shared by Raffles Makati and Fairmont Makati. It has five “culinary theaters” around the main room, creating one world-class dish after another. The five culinary theaters include cuisine from China, the Middle East, India, Europe and the Philippines. Spectrum serves a buffet spread along with à la carte dishes. It also has an in-house bar.

• At the 10th floor of the Makati hotel is a beautifully conceptualized restaurant based on a celebrated poem by Nobel Laureate Frédéric Mistral. Called Mirèio, the elegant brasserie-style restaurant offers Provençal-inspired cuisine, melding traditional French-cooking techniques and exquisite Mediterranean influences.

• When dining at Mirèio, make sure to try its beef tartare with goat cheese and basil, mussels in a mustard and saffron sauce with onion coulis, and the lavender crème brûlée.

6. Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila is a thoughtfully elegant and thoroughly modern resort on the majestic Manila Bay. It was established in 1976 as the first hotel in the Philippines of international caliber and was designed by Philippine National Artist Leandro Locsin.

In 2007, global hotel operator Accor acquired the property and turned it into the luxurious bayside retreat it is today. With gorgeous landscapes, lavish contemporary interiors and indulgent spa, it’s no wonder it’s often the hotel of choice of visiting VIPs, from former U.S. President Barack Obama to the Queen of Pop Madonna.

Highlights
• The Sofitel is a sought after venue for high-end events, from extravagant weddings to swanky business meetings and retreats. Two outdoor pavilions are fully air conditioned, one with a deck overlooking Manila Bay.

• Le Spa is a sultry retreat where guests are eased into utter relation within tastefully designed treatment rooms — splurge on a service in the spa suite where you can lounge on a private outdoor sundeck. Treatments include facials and massages, including the Filipino signature healing technique, Hilot Secret.

• Activities abound at this Manila hotel — hit the beach, lounge by a lagoon-like pool, play a round at the outdoor tennis courts, workout at the spacious fitness center and practice your gold skills on the putting green.

What to Know
• During a recent renovation, guest rooms got the refreshed look of an upscale Filipino hotel with warm neutral accents for a more laidback vibe in keeping with the brand’s move toward being known as a resort hotel. That said, modern amenities like in-room security facilities and complimentary high-speed Wi-Fi come standard and will continue to appeal to business travelers.

• VIPs often stay in the resplendent, 6,050-square-foot Imperial Residence, which comes with the services of a personal butler and has direct access to the hotel’s helipad. It also has an outdoor living area that overlooks Manila Bay, a library and a spacious bathroom with Hermes bath products.

• While the Sofitel is located on the beach, it’s also within walking distance of Philippine International Convention Center, the Folk Arts Theater and Manila Film Center.

The Rooms
• All 609 guest rooms and suites at Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila have a balcony, offering an uninterrupted view of Manila and its neighboring cities, as well as Manila Bay.

In the room, guests will find a functional work desk, a 32-inch LED TV with cable channels, complimentary coffee and tea-making facilities, and a supplied mini bar.

• Luxury Club Rooms come with access to Club Millésime, an exclusive lounge featuring a library, wine station, meeting rooms, butler service and alfresco dining with panoramic views.

• Choose from five kinds of suites: two Opera Suites, four Luxury Suites, seven Prestige Suites, 32 Sofitel Suites, and the Imperial Residence — all of which give you access to Club Millésime.

The Restaurants
• Spiral is the luxury hotel’s 26,910-square-foot flagship restaurant, which got its name from the iconic spiral staircase in the middle and features a stunning 21-foot bronze masterpiece by Filipino National Artist Eduardo Castrillo. Since its revamp in 2012, Spiral has 21 interactive dining ateliers, with elaborate food spreads and opportunities to interact with the chefs — for example, L’épicerie is a room with more than 200 different kinds of cheeses from all over the globe.

• La Veranda is a glass-enclosed Parisian-style bar reminiscent of 1930s Paris. Order artisan drinks and sip on them at outdoor terrace and beautifully landscaped garden.

• Le Bar, with its mahogany interiors and leather seats, offers a cozy, relaxed ambiance to simply have a drink or two while having a tête-à-tête with a companion. You can order signature cocktails, French high tea, wines, cheeses and breads, as well as items on the French bistro menu.

• Dine under the stars while looking out at Manila Bay at Sunset Bar. Aside from its culinary offerings and signature beverages, the poolside bar also features local cultural shows and live music on certain days.

7. Makati Shangri-La Hotel Manila

Makati Shangri-La Hotel Manila

  9. We have to visit and explore Philippines for sure, we haven't done it yet. You gave us the starting point, thanks! These hotels looks all so fabulous but our favorite is Sky Tower at Solaire Resort and Casino, maybe we can stay there when we'll visit Philippines. Who knows? :)

Oh with this list of hotels, definitely you'll gonna love it. However for my personal opinion, Raffles and Fairmont Hotel are the best. Especially their oh so luxurious bed. I don't find Marco Polo's bed exciting - which made me wonder why it gained 5-stars..

  11. The hotels look so lavish and luxurious (and I'm sure the prices reflect the standards too). However, I would not stay in a hotel like that because if I travel to Philippines I'd like to see more of a local side to it - I'd rather rent an apartment or a guest house than stay in an exact copy of a hotel that you can find everywhere in the west.
Nevertheless, if you have the money and want comfort, I think the quality an standards must be extremely high!
