Have you ever got into a situation where everything that you’ve planned unexpectedly didn’t happen?
Just like when you planned this amazing adventure with your boyfriend, like visiting Tokyo this summer, and yet a day before your exciting trip, you and your boyfriend broke up.
And that's effin sucks, right?
It is crushing to your core, not to mention that time you’ve spent months on planning for this trip and eventually just getting dumped for another woman.
Some might choose to cancel the trip and rushed to your ex and try to win him back.
But there are some ladies who won’t.
Though the reality of going to Tokyo for the first time alone and heartbroken is really Earth-shaking.
However, it is Japan – the country of the Rising Sun.
But let’s face it – going solo travel is not that easy as they always told us.
If you are a millennial and a travel bug just like me, trust me the reality and struggle of traveling solo I hard AF.
If you are a style blogger, NO one will take your OOTD post multiple times before you got your best 2-shots. No one will carry you huge bags of fun of IG-props for your trip. It is a struggle to carry two RIMOWA luggage full of clothes because you need multiple outfit changes for every scene.
And yes, NO one will say – “…you looked beautiful, babe..” even you are struggling to have that awesome jump with those cherry blossoms as your backdrop.
You will be struggling to stretch your arms to have that selfie with the oldest shrine.
And there will be many times that you might get lost, and you have no one to rely on but only yourself.
….. or maybe rely on Google Map.
And there are times you will think if you did the right decision of going alone, away with your heartbreaks back at home. You are wondering if this trip will help you, to somehow to forget even just for few days.
You would think if this is the right path for you.
And sometimes you will have doubts about yourself and say “…. It is my fault. I shouldn’t take this.”
You’ve traveled miles away, and walked a thousand steps, and after thinking and seeing these beautiful sights that surround you, with many happy faces staring at you, you will realize that…
When you travel alone and carrying those heavy burdens on your chest, let it be carried away by the sweep of the breezy air. Let nature showered you with good hopes and not over-think of yesterday. It is already in the past, and now your solo journey is guiding you on your future path.
Our expectations are sometimes too high, which makes us too stressed to reach heights. Why not enjoy every single moment and let your feet carried you?
Be adventurous and open yourselves to every possibility!
Try new food and restaurants, enjoy those heart-warming sake, and party with fellow travelers along the way. Travel makes us more patient and understanding, and you’ll never know the surprises it will give you.
Make new friends along the way, and always have that genuine smile because it is the international language that everyone understands. Great everyone “Konichiwa!”
Don’t be afraid because what you really do not understand is that – YOU are never alone.
Your journey is your destiny. It will help you to grow much stronger, much tougher than who you are back home. Stop thinking of your heartbreaks and failures, but let those be your guide to your new path that will help you to find your new self.
After every typhoon, there is always a brighter tomorrow.
Life is too short just to waste on things that bother you.
Make your time counts, every step of your way.
And never be afraid to Begin Again.

I wouldn't mind traveling alone at all! In fact, it might be easier than traveling with someone because you don't have to worry about their moods!

ReplyDeleteHahhaa so true! The struggle is real, but if you watch the video it is kinda sad at first but very inspiring all through out.
DeleteTraveling alone really isn't that bad! I actually went to Korea alone and imagine that fear before going. But once you are there all those fear will be gone!
ReplyDeleteThat is awesome! You can travel alone and have fun.
DeleteIndeed, somehow we tend to feel more lonely when we surrounded by people, those are not true happiness.
ReplyDeleteOnly being alone can help you to find yourself back.
