How to Mint your Impact this Holiday

DIY ImpactMints Statement Necklace

Hello Ladies!

Holiday season is here and I bet it is also one of your favorite season.

There might be some holiday Grinch around but me doesn’t careless. I love the holiday season.

But there is one thing that I don’t like much.

Overspending.

Especially during holiday season… geez I’ve such a giam siam (Hokkien for “stingy”)

Maybe it’s part of me being an adult, or maybe because recycling and upcycling has become my way of life. And am enjoying it because by these methods, I could make an impact to the community for not contributing too much rubbish, and also learning to save money.

I’d rather spending it on my travels or to my monthly R&R but not on other things.

So as part of my yearly Christmas DIY project, am sharing you another idea that I think you will also love.

So finally I’ve emptied these ImpactMints Peppermints from I’ve got from my recent visit at World Food EXPO, and honestly I felt so guilty to throw them away. Aside from the fact that I like these mints and a true lifesaver for me especially during my long travels, their packaging are so
conveniently sleek.

So I decided to stash them, until I’ve found a clever idea to use them.

Until last weekend.

Holidays are coming which means, lots of parties and gatherings and also it means I need new outfits for these meetings. However, spending money is not my option.

I was checking for my crafting supplies, when suddenly it hit me.

That I could use those empty ImpactMints cases and make it into a new fashion accessories.

Viola, that’s a clever ideas!

I excitedly grabbed by crafting supplies, and those empty ImpactMints cases and started to work my ass.

After cleaning the cases and removing those sticker labels, I’ve lay-out these cases on my table and start planning. Luckily I have my beads to use for this idea.

After some #trialandtesting finally here’s my final output

I’ve used my old accessories and connected my crafty ImpactMints cases to make a statement bib necklace!

Isn’t it an ingenious idea?!

Look how brilliantly colourful the cases, so don’t blame me if I was clinging to these, hahaha
I love their colors which are very festive and perfect for this holiday season!

And opps, before I forgot to mention. I’ve also got an opportunity to meet the men behind ImpactMints, during my visit months ago at World Food Expo.

  28. I personally prefer to wear much small pieces of jewelry, but this is a really cool way to design a fun statement piece. I keep my tins like these all the time as well, and mine end up being converted into travel sewing kits, some travel entertainment for my kids, or converted into magnetic makeup palettes.
