My Cutera Laser Hair Removal at Skin Philosophie

My Cutera Laser Hair Removal at Skin Philosophie

Have you tried the laser hair removal?

I have a regular Brazilian waxing appointment, including my underarm waxing but I haven’t experienced having a laser treatment just to remove those unwanted hairs.

Until recently, when I got an opportunity to visit this upscale aesthetic clinic called Skin Philosophie Medical Aesthetic & Lifestyle Solutions, located at Bonifacio High Street (on top of Agave Restaurant).

I visited few days ago (15th of July) to avail their latest laser hair removal treatment using the CUTERA XEO.

So before I undergo my treatment, I had an opportunity to check their facilities and tour around their newest clinic.

I’ve noticed that the clinic per se is very straight forward – meaning its interior is designed in a minimalist concept and accentuated with royal purple, very tidy with enough rooms for their various treatment and can accommodate clients, including their walk-in clients simultaneously.

And while waiting for my consultation with Dr. Kayla Talens, Skin Philosophie’s lead doctor – I’ve been observing how their attendants work. Each of them are very accommodating, polite enough to their clients (even those walk-ins which is quite normal because this clinic is the only aesthetic clinic situated at the heart of High Street), catering to its clients’ inquiries etc.

That Saturday after was quite a busy day for they however, I am glad that they still accommodate me!
I’ve been so some aesthetic clinics before, and am telling you that most of them are strictly by-appointments only. So I am truly surprised (and blessed of course) that they accommodate me.

While waiting and comfortably sitting in their couch, I couldn’t help but admire the clinic’s minimalist look and the consistency of its purple theme.

You see I admit royal purple – it reminds me of opulence lifestyle, very relaxing ambiance as if you are in Thailand.

And speaking of Thailand – it comes to my mind that maybe the owner of this aesthetic clinic had undergone training in Thailand.

And yes, my observation was right.

Dr. Kayla Talens an aesthetic dermatologist and CEO of Skin Philosophie. She gained and completed her Masters of Science in Clinical Dermatology at Cardiff University in Wales, United Kingdom. And after that she also pursue further studies at Ramathibodi Hospital – Mahidol University, one of the best universities in Thailand where she trained and eventually received a fellowship in Dermatologic Laser Surgery.

And knowing her remarkable credentials, I knew that I am in good hands.

My Cutera Laser Hair Removal at Skin Philosophie

Unlike the most of aesthetic clinics in the Metro, Skin Philosophie aims to deliver the desired high quality of skincare products and services, while harnessing your innate beauty, more than skin deep.
Using their superb aesthetic equipment and well-trained doctors and associates, Skin Philosophie is giving excellent services at the very reasonable costs.

What is Cutera Laser Hair Removal Treatment?

I availed this treatment to remove my unwanted facial hair (except those thin hairs on my upper lips because I find it so cute to just remove, so I spare that part). Using their modern equipment CUTERA XEO – an equipment that is important from San Francisco, California.

The treatment per se last for more than 60-minutes which includes a luxurious facial as preparatory for my laser treatment. I felt so relaxed during my facial treatment that I almost fell asleep, literally LOL

The beauty associate also did some thorough cleansing (I forgot the technical term!) on my face to remove white and black heads. I wasn’t that bad and doesn’t hurt. But if you have super sensitive skin and senses then you might find it a little uncomfortable.

After my extensive facial treatment, my dear beauty associate guided me to the laser room for my facial hair removal.

My Cutera Laser Hair Removal at Skin Philosophie

I was very comfortable when Dr. Ann is doing the treatment using their CUTERA XEO machine, but I honestly got a little distracted hearing those bubble-like sounds, and of course the smell of my burning facial hair LOL.

My Cutera Laser Hair Removal at Skin Philosophie

It was my first time to undergo this kind of treatment, and Dr. Ann was patently discussing to me that the bubble-sounds are normal sounds while doing the treatment.

LOL silly me, I honestly need to be educated more in aesthetic equipment!

Dr. Ann had my facial hair on both my cheeks, forehead and chin removed!

Truly, the smell of my burning hair is quite uncomfortable but it’s okay.

There are few instances that I have to beg off in a few seconds, because of a little pinch am feeling because of the laser heat. If you can’t take it – don’t hesitate to tell your doctor to have a pause, or stop. Don’t push yourself, baby.

After 30-minutes of my treatment, viola! Am feeling and looking fresh AF. I was advised not to wash my face for the next 4-hours after my treatment, and minimize staying under the sun and always apply sunscreen lotion. I need to come back for the second session after 2-weeks (this Saturday!)

Depending on your body chemistry how many sessions do you need to thoroughly removed those unwanted hairs. Some patients remove hair after 1-2 sessions, some needs more sessions. It varies.
Just be open with your doctor and never shy to ask questions. Because they are gladly to give your answers.

  24. Nice!

I religiously get waxed every other month, because I'm not that hairy, but I've never even considered a laser hair removal treatment, the thought scares me :P

I've done a Brazilian a few times before, but I've come to the conclusion that I don't want to be completely bare down there, lol, so I just go for bikini waxing and trimming, leaving just enough hair so it's not bald. :P

Thanks for sharing your experience! :)

I haven't tried hair removal of any sort because I don't have that much 'balahibo'. :D But there was one annoying strand of hair that keeps growing near my upper lip...it used to grow real fast even after I had it plucked...now, I started a regimen for my face, it's not growing anymore...in case it grows again I would heed your advice.
