Although sending it to the recycling bin is available, it wasn’t always on top of my list. I tend to plan out and carefully decide what to do with it, coz I’m the type of person who often builds an emotional attachment with my clothes, especially those pieces that I design and make myself.
Just like when I found this secondhand checkered textile from the op shop and created a jumper co-ord back in the spring of 2021.
Fast forward to spring 2024, I realized that the jumper I love needs a little update and more room for comfort. Gladly, I kept the rest of the textile remnants, and started to get each piece together, like a jigsaw puzzle! The checkered prints help to create an interesting new pattern and hide all the seams.

To make the upgrade more fun and extra, I added some frills using the old lace fabric I got, and a few vintage cut-outs print applique. It turned out pretty good!
What do you think of this look?
I guess it’s time to mow the lawn.
Ta ta!
