It was one sunny weekend of September when I decided to book an overnight stay at I’M Hotel Makati using my Expedia app. I thought I should chose I’M Hotel Makati, because many are telling me how awesome their services are, how amazing and luxurious their amenities, etc.
I’ve read many, all positive reviews about this hotel, yes including the reviews of most bloggers and influencers (I believe those reviews and testimonials are sponsored, mostly in return of FREE stay) – and I thought I should try it myself.
After checking if all I needed is in my overnight bag, and doubled check as well my hotel confirmation, I opened my GRAB app to book my car going to the hotel. In less than 30-minutes from my place, I arrived sound and safe at I’M Hotel.
I’M Hotel is one of the newest upscale hotel situated in the busy Makati Avenue district. This hotel in known for having the biggest Onsen Spa and the swimming pool over-looking from the driveway.
This hotel is being managed under the management of Worldhotel Makati, Inc., the same company that owns the Manila Ocean Park.
Full Disclosure: This is #NotSponsoredPost and my reviews are based on my first-hand experienced, and no bullshit.
One thing that I like about staycation or I may say my “hotel hopping experience” is that I have the opportunity to observe and evaluate the hotel services first-hand. I want to experience it as a paying guest, and not as an expected guest or bloggers/influencers that their invited for a stay in return of positive reviews.
Moving on…
I am impressed on how clean and well-organized the lobby, that high ceiling, and comfortable carpeted sitting area. The moment I entered the lobby, I smell its fresh scent promising of my good overnight experience.
I arrived at around 3:30PM, but waited for 30-minutes to confirm and honored my stay, and eventually I arrived in my Classic Room around 4:00PM. I don’t understand what took them so long to confirm my accommodation.
Here’s the classic room that I’ve booked. When I booked this via Expedia, I was expecting something more presentable. There is no bathtub, no bathrobe and extra towels, not carpeted, the duvet is so cheap and thin, and the worst part is –
my room smells awful like a rotten molds!
I felt like I’ve entered in an old-age moldy underground room, and it was disgusting!
Even I opened the air-conditioner still the awful smell doesn’t disappear!
I called the hotel’s reception and stated my concern about the room. I asked for the manager so I could speak to him/her and tell them how disgusted I am. That moment, I felt so ripped-off. They sent a housekeeper to mitigate the scent by spraying some air fresher that smells of florals, however it is too late. I’m already disappointed.
I’ve opened my door and waiting for another 30-minutes. Still, the Manager is a no show.
I called the hotel reception again, informing them that I will check-out immediately. I could never stay in this disgusting room for the next hours, much more overnight!
Then someone came into my room – the lady who introduced herself as the Asst. Manager and the hotel’s room attendant, informing me that they will transfer me to another room. I’ve doubt about transferring me to another and experiencing another disaster, which I’ve told the Asst. Manager immediately.
They assured me that everything is in order – room is clean and smells fresh.
Here’s is my new room…
They transferred me to this bigger room - quite decent than the Classic Room.
Same as the classic room, the floors are made of semi-wood that made sounds whenever I walk (and I don’t like it), it is also not carpeted which makes the floor colder. The room have high ceiling and there is an adjacent door leading to the next room. I doubled check and it’s locked, and they said no one is occupying the next room.
It has a sofa, and a space as working area complete with telephone and the hotel’s stationeries.
My Queen sized bed which I find it small compared to most 5-star hotel’s that I’ve tried.
And also their duvet is NOT GOOD. It is so thin and not comfortable, contrary to what other influencers’ testimonials are saying.
I’ve encountered this kind of duvet to some 3-stars hotels (but the duvet in City Garden Grand Hotel is heavenly!)
On the left side of my bed is the most interesting part – which is my bathroom. It is designed with glass window (and with blinds, which can be rolled-up if you want). This setup is quite impressive (or vulgar for some) and I like it. I find this location quite sexy.
My room have enough spaces for my stuffs. The first cabinet contains an empty space, a safety deposit box, and a mini refrigerator. Next door is my wardrobe cabinet.
There’s also a complimentary tea and coffee, and free cookies from I’m Hotel.
There’s also some complimentary water and sodas, and some nuts for me.
My cabinet is also huge with more room for my other stuffs. There are enough hangers for me, one bathrobe, and an electric iron with iron board, pairs of bedroom slippers, laundry bags, and hair dryer.
Another thing that I like about this room is the separation of comfort room, shower area, and the bath area. This room can be occupied by couple’s on-the-go, or a small family and they can do their business without waiting the other to finish.
Here’s my comfort room:
My comfort room is spacious! There’s a functional toilet seat that doesn’t clog, extra tissue roll and towels, a functional telephone (for emergencies or other concerns) trash bin, a wide mirror in front, hotel’s complimentary soap bar, a faucet that provides both hot/warm and cold water. And more spaces on the bottom of the sink, for your other stuffs.
On the other door is my shower area. Luckily I have no issue with their shower and it gives me a relaxing warm shower. I always like a warm water showering on my back – it’s like an aqua therapy massage. I like the modern tiles that they've installed.
I’ve read some bloggers' reviews saying how luxurious having a Crabtree & Evelyn in the bathroom.
Well I’m telling you this – Crabtree & Evelyn is not luxurious, IMHO! I don't like the scent, as well.
With this kind of hotel and their regular price point, I am expecting they have at least a L’occitane bath products (and verbena is my favorite!) just like at Makati Shangri-La.
This is the first time I visited a self-proclaimed 5-Star hotel using Crabtree & Evelyn.
Yup I’m quite a hotel reviewer snob, but it is true.
Here’s the thing, comparing bathroom products – I believe it is more affordable to stay at Peninsula Manila which they use Carolina Herrera bath products. And that’s true luxury!

This hotel have many rooms for your stuffs!
I am glad that they installed a vanity mirror, and they are quite generous for extra towels. My vanity area comes with complete complimentary bathroom, and dental care.
Oh this is no smoking room and that's fine if you don't smoke.
And my favorite area – the bath tub!
Oh I was feeling so stressed after that trouble with my previous room, and I deserve a total pampering. My accommodation comes with free use of the pool (until 7:00PM) and Onsen Spa (until 2:00AM) however, I decided to skip that part and just stayed in my room and my tub.
Anyway, I can always come back to try their Onsen Spa.
I’ve bought a Johnson & Johnson baby milk bath in the pouch and poured it all in my tub, and enjoyed my deep-soaked warm bubble bath. Some hotels have TV-installed in their bath area, but this time I can now appreciate this glass window overlooking my bedroom and television, and happily enjoying my favorite travel channel NHK World, and sipping champagne. PS. - the champagne was bought by me from the nearest grocery store.
Other Amenities:
I saw two restaurants at I’M Hotel – the Empress Jade located at the ground floor (entrance right side of the reception area), and Bloom located at the 4th Floor and a smoking lounge.
I will share my dining experience and review of BLOOM, on my separate blog post.
I will share my dining experience and review of BLOOM, on my separate blog post.
The hall going to grand ballroom in the 5th floor.
They also have Four (4) Function Rooms (all named after the local tree – Acacia, Banyan, Mahogany, Palmera) located at the 6th Floor with each rooms have capacity of 60 to 70 pax.
The Grand Ballroom Narra is located at 5Th Floor and with the capacity of 80 - 100pax. All function rooms and the ballroom are well-carpeted, fully equipped air-conditioned, with projectors and lights and sounds.
More waiting area along the hallway leading to functional rooms.
They also have a pool located in the 2nd Floor. This acrylic-bottomed infinity pool is only 4-feet deep and no diving. The pool is over-looking the busy street of Makati Avenue, and when you are in the drive-way, you can see the swimmers above, thanks for the see-through glass.
I understand that this area is quite famous to hotel guests because of its resort-type of design. Those shaped like giant birdcages are similar to the one in Parkroyal Hotel in Singapore. I think they commissioned the same designer.
Mermaid bar
With lounging bed for sun bathing. I doubt if the sun still comes in because the sun is actually blocked by other buildings.
Hello acrylic-infinity pool!
This is the lounge area for the Onsen Spa. You may book your appointments here.
Hall way going to Onsen Spa. Since I was so stressed and too lazy to go out, I decided not to avail my complimentary Onsen Spa experience. However, I will take my spontaneous Onsen Spa trip any time soon so I could share to you my first-hand experience.
As always, I want to experience it as a paying guest.
I’M Hotel Club Lounge - Guests who book direct on the website or book the suite rooms will be accorded immediate access to the Club Lounge. Fashioned as a gentleman’s library, the lounge is an inspiring space to conduct meetings, or simply indulge in a round of complimentary tapas and beverages.
And when you are feeling lost, you can always call the reception area, or check this directory located in the ground floor.

You’re welcome ladies and gents.

Overall my experience at IM Hotel is just quite stressful, and I only feel calm, after my deep-soaked warm bubble bath.
In terms of services, there are many areas that needs improvements ASAP. Their response time is so slow, including the check-in and check-out process, and the way they accommodate the guest’s inquiry especially over the phone.
If you are planning to stay here, always make sure that your room if clean and smells fresh. I’ve seen how they sprayed my first room with air-freshener the way that's NOT most 5-star hotels does, and it’s not the proper ways.
Also, get used to seeing random ladies in their skimpy and racy clothing, holding hands with foreign guests because this hotel is situated few walks away from the red-light district.
I’ve tried to stay in the lobby for at least two hours (just to observe people) 8PM, and I saw 5-pairs who checked-in and checked-out of the hotel, with their living sex dolls.
How should I know? Because these ladies are literally obvious as sex workers, the way they dressed and act in public. I realized that IM Hotel is becoming the hub for sex tourists, and I believe they can’t control that. As long as their guests can pay, they are welcome.
And don’t you know that IM Hotel staffs have codename for these dolls?
Next time I will share to you my BLOOM dining experience.
Overall Rating: 3 Stars...at least the Asst. Manager have initiated to offer me a new room. I appreciate her gesture.

OMG this is such a nice hotel. Totally my type! That shower head though, and the pool, super instagram worthy.

Puiyeesss
Yes it is.. it is instaworthy.
DeleteThat hotel looks so beautiful and like it would be the perfect place to go to after running around the city. So cool that you got to stay there!
ReplyDeleteDanielle | FollowMyGut.com <3
Actually, I don't recommend that you took a run around this place. There is a running track located in Ayala Avenue.
DeleteLuckly that you complain and got a bigger and better room! Other than the smell the hotel does look very modern and chick! The swimming pool very invitating!
ReplyDeleteYes, I was relief then.
DeleteAt least they made an effort to compensate my trouble. But it doesn't mean I have to kiss ass on my review (*wink)
But their pool is indeed modern, I like it. Its pity that they need to close it early at night time.
That area outside always causes traffic jam, because of many onlookers outside :D
looks like you had a luxurious treatment. room looks neat though
ReplyDeleteThanks Jossy!
DeleteIt's a shame you didn't have a nicer experience, at least they upgraded you! The pool is very interesting... I like the see through base if it is anywhere but over a driveway!
ReplyDeleteLOL so true, I like that pool as well.
DeleteMaybe I'll come back at I'm Hotel to experience their Onsen Spa.
Wow, what a gorgeous hotel. I would LOVE to stay there if I am ever in that area.
ReplyDeleteOh you should! Maybe you will have a lovely stay :D
DeleteAm speechless... nice review though. well, they can always in improve in their services. You can share your observation about their hotel with them so that they will know where they are getting it wrong.
ReplyDeleteYes I will. I've already spoke with the manager about it.
DeleteThis does look like an impressive hotel. I'm sorry your first room was gross. I'm glad you were moved to a better one at least. And ick about the prostitutes!
ReplyDeleteLOL yeah, my second room is quite good, thanks for the bath tub.
DeleteThis is a really thorough review! I always try to look for those small details too, it makes the whole experience better (or worse, in some cases).
ReplyDeleteThanks Cara!
DeleteI tend to see and observe thoroughly especially when I was quite upset. So better to always make me happy, so that I would pass those details, LOL
You know if I am ever in the area and in search of a hotel room yours is the first blog I am going to read about it! Thanks for yet another awesome and honest review!
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome and thank you for appreciating my review :D
DeleteOh gosh, the photos look like it should be a really lovely stay but I am sorry it didn't live up to expectations. It certainly isn't somewhere I would want to take my children, given the clientele you described in the lobby.
ReplyDeleteHahaha yeah. I can recommend you staying here but with no kids. Even the outside of the hotel is not kids' friendly.
DeleteFor a place that looks so good, I honestly didn't expect such horrible things. But, these things happen with me too. I go somewhere which is reviewed really well, but I just don't get it, only a horrible experience. I loved your reviewing style! :)
ReplyDeleteThank you Aishwarya!
DeleteMaybe it wasn't my so lucky day :D
SAyang ng oras! I wonder why the room smelled bad when it looks new pa naman no? Buti naman na salvage ang stay mo but if I paid that much, ayaw! hihi Btw, who takes your photos sis? I mean the ones where you are present? Ang nice! :D
ReplyDeleteI don't know.. maybe they didn't cleaned it properly. Or maybe the wallpaper has something to so with it.
DeleteYeah, I was about to leave coz am actually furious na. Fortunately nahabol nila ako.
About my photos? He's name is TRIPOD
What an absolutely beautiful looking hotel, I love the rooms as well they seem to have been so well thought out.
ReplyDeleteHello Sarah,
DeleteThe room looks decent, just so and so for me. But the design is too minimalist compared to the cost.
You go to the most amazing places. And you are right on the duvet. I used to work as a maid and that duvet looks too thin. Overall, I love the room!
ReplyDeleteYeah It was so thin. It should be at least double or 3x thicker considered the cost and the brand they are positioning as luxury.
DeleteThe only thing I love is my bathroom.
It is good that they gave you a better room. The living sex doll thing would bother me.
ReplyDeleteI know right! I was about to leave the hotel and fortunately they catch me on time and gave me a better one.
DeleteWell those living sex doll is everywhere. If I have a kid or my husband with me, I won't stay here.
Always looks like you are staying in such cool places! That mermaid bar! I wanna go! It's a bit of a shame that you had some trouble though
ReplyDeleteThanks Corinne!
DeleteYeah I like that mermaid bar, created by a Filipino Artist. I like how they conceptualized this bar and pool. Though like I've said in my post, the pool closes at 7PM.
Wow lots of information here, thank you for sharing. The pool and outdoor area looks like a really cool place.
ReplyDeleteThank you Venus!
DeleteWow, what a detailed review of a hotel. I'm sorry you didn't like it but I'm sure this post will be useful to many people
ReplyDeleteIt's okay Mike. At least I've proved and discovered many things about this hotel, which helps to create my honest AF review.
DeleteI love the pictures you took of the hotel! I love a good, well kept hotel, and the service they provide, and this one looks like they take customer service seriously!
ReplyDeleteI agree Roger. Though It wasn't a perfect staycation I am expecting, at least they made an effort to satisfy their guests. Despite of what happen, at least I had a good sleep.
DeleteThank you for the very detailed review. I love staycations. To relax and get away from it all is very nice sometimes.
ReplyDeleteExactly! Staycations are my guilty pleasures!
DeleteThis is such a lovely hotel. I really like the layout of everything in the rooms.
ReplyDeleteThanks Fatima!
DeleteI wish they put a carpet on the floor. It is quite slippery.
Nice hotel, looks really classy and comfortable, bet you had a good night stay.
ReplyDeleteI slept quite late, but yeah at least I had a good sleep.
DeleteWow... You are really detailed.. I normally wouldn't complain but I think I should learn how to fight for my right like you did
ReplyDeleteHello Maya,
DeleteYeah it is your right as a paying guest. Because that way, you are also helping them to improve.
It seems like a gorgeous hotel. But I hope you managed to stay comfortable at night when the duvet is not god and thick enough.
ReplyDeleteNot too comfy actually, but my mind was so tired I managed to sleep at least. The warm bubble bath truly helps.
Deletewow the interior is crazily beautiful
ReplyDeleteThank you Carmen :D
DeleteI’M Hotel Makati looks like a great place to stay. I love the decor and the rooms look so comfortable.
ReplyDeleteThank you Claudia. You might enjoy the pool as well.
Deletesalamat po.... thanks for your sharing on this awesome hotel!
ReplyDeleteSalamat din po!
DeleteSuch a lovely hotel in Makati. I love the pool area, except that the pool is see through.
ReplyDeleteLOL They say that's the focal point.. well I won't disagree.
DeleteIt seems they are right. Just don't do crazy when you swim, LOL.
The room look nice and comfortable to stay. Thank for the recommendations. If I go there , I will try to ta this hotel.
ReplyDeleteThat's cool! You'll enjoy this place, and the foods.
DeleteLove the clean lines the hotel provides. And the spa? Heavenly! I'd stay there in a hot minute!
ReplyDeleteI haven't checked-in the spa.. I'm planning to visit maybe next month.
Deletethe hotel looks nice and luxurious. If they had made a little change to the room, I think you would have had a better experience. Thanks for your review.
ReplyDeleteYes I did. I was saved by the warm bubble bath.
DeleteWow! Referring to women to as "living sex dolls" is incredibly disrespectful. I'm shocked that you'd publish something that so abhorrent
ReplyDeleteThese women doesn't even respected themselves. Think again.
DeleteWhat a nice post about a hotel you have stayed at! I am impressed with the details that you have described. This will definitely help new tourists researching places to stay at - what a great post!
ReplyDeleteThank you Liz!
DeleteVery detailed review. Thanks for this post.
ReplyDeleteThanks for scanning my post!
DeleteBeautiful photos and great review! Thanks for sharing.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Monica, and thank you for visiting!
DeleteI am sorry you had such a hard time with this hotel. It must have been so aggravating.
ReplyDeleteIts okay Kelly, I've already moved on :D
DeleteI'm not interested to try their famous Onsen Spa and see if it pass my judgment. I'll keep you ladies posted!
It’s so refreshing to read a non biased review. And a moldy room? Ick! Looks like they had some pretty cool places to take pics though (hello Mermaid Bar!)
ReplyDeleteYeah I agree. Well I can't deny that I find that Mermaid Pool insta-worthy :)
DeleteThey need more improvements.
Hotel rooms shouldn't have funky smells. It's great to know that they gave you a new room. The room looks very spacious and clean. Thanks for sharing your experience.
ReplyDeleteYeah, even the rooms are not occupied for days it must not smells funky, they should always check it regularly and seriously.
DeleteLooks cozy enough...but looks could sometimes be deceiving too...so thanks for this write up. I've always had paranoia when staying by myself in a hotel, let alone one you described like this... :D Thanks again!
ReplyDeleteHello Marie,
DeleteI'm used to staying alone in my hotel room as long as I checked it is safe. IM Hotel needs a lot of improvements.
I have heard a lot of good reviews from this hotel but thanks for the candid and honest review. I learned a lot from it.
ReplyDeleteYou're welcome Emmamuel.
DeleteHowever, you should try staying here as well. Maybe the experience will be more pleasant.
Omg $4k for 1 night? This is a cute name & I'm glad you got to experience it.
ReplyDeletein dollars its roughly $80 per night :D
DeleteThe hotel looks good in the photos, though... but I guess sometimes the photos aren't what they seem to be ... just sad you had a bad start but at least they gave you upgrade... thanks for sharing :)
ReplyDeleteYeah, I appreciate their customer service!
DeleteBut still many things needs improvements. And I have to commend them for their bathroom, I like it.
Thanks for the really honest review, it's really helpful. for everyone who might be faced with staying there for a night or two, this will help them know what to expect and how to prepare for it.
ReplyDeleteI agree. As a guest, you deserve to be treated well because you are paying well.
DeleteThat hotel is absolutely amazing!!! It reminds me of the hotel we stayed in when in Brazil last holiday. Glad you had a lovely time!
ReplyDeleteThis hotel looks like it would be so nice to stay in. Sorry that you had the issue when it came to needing to switch rooms but glad they accommodated you.
ReplyDeleteI think it will be more frustrating if they didn't.
DeleteIt’s a good thing you complained. The larger room does look better.
ReplyDeleteI didn't expect that they will switched my room, but glad they did.
DeleteI'm so sorry that part of your experience was not as planned. This does look like a beautiful place though.
ReplyDeleteYeah it is. Well am still want to comeback and try their Onsen Spa!
DeleteWow I love how detail this post is! It is an amazing review for a person who is looking to book this hotel.
ReplyDeleteThank you Claire. I'm glad you like my review. I will keep on sharing many hotel reviews soon.
DeleteYou really give a very detailed review of the hotel. We pay for all our hotel stays in places we visit and would love to give these details, too. And thanks fort he heads up. Won't be staying in this hotel when in the country.
ReplyDeleteYou should make more hotel reviews too, and how your kids like or dislike it.
DeleteYou may opt Shangrila Hotels, Peninsula and Dusit Hotel - these hotels are kids-friendly.
Thank you for your honest review! It's too bad you didn't have a better experience. I hear you on the bed situation. It drives me bonkers when the linen isn't that nice. The pool area here looks quite interesting, though. Will keep this review in mind if I ever visit!
ReplyDeleteThank you Lindsey. Eventually, I moved on and got rested well. But of course, it doesn't mean I wouldn't be so honest to my review.
DeleteIf I heard they are doing much better, then I will consider visiting again.
I have to give them credit. They totally rectified this problem and offered you an amazing alternative. The new room is gorgeous and looks really comfortable. I love the pool and the lobby is gorgeous too!
ReplyDeleteI think I deserve the new room... as I paid them good money.
DeleteThis is a great review. I love the photos you showed. It was very helpful that you included the price range for each room.
ReplyDeleteGlad you like it! Thank you!
DeleteThis looks like a nice hotel. I like the furniture and the bed looks very comfy.
ReplyDeleteThank you Ray :)
DeleteThat looks like a beautiful hotel to stay in! This is a great review of the hotel with tons of details. Thanks so much for sharing.
ReplyDeleteAwesome dear! Keep on visiting my blog.
DeleteThis hotel looked amazing, especially that bathroom! I'd love to have a get away trip there sometime, thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteI agree with their bathroom. Its impressive.
DeleteIt's really not bad considering it is a 3 star hotel! I wonder how much it'll be converted to USD... Gotta take a look haha!
ReplyDeleteYou may use xe.com for conversion.. its very reliable.
DeleteThats so horrible that your first room smelled like mold! Glad they moved you!
ReplyDeleteI agree, glad they did :D
DeleteI love that you gave such an honest review! It really does help when you're traveling to know what is good and what is not. I'm glad that they were able to accommodate you and put you in a bigger room but I would be right there with you and be stressed out the rest of the time.
ReplyDeleteYeah I understand. That's why I prefer to review hotel that I've paid for that doing a collaborations. I have the freedom to say what I want, and recommend some improvements.
DeleteThis is one amazing post! Wow, I have got to make it somehow to Hotel Makati! I sense a deep rest and relaxation sesh would be in store for me!
ReplyDeleteYou'll gonna like it. Especially the pool, and their foods.
DeleteWow... You are super cool at hotel reviews at must say... Perfectly points out the good and the bad points...
ReplyDeleteThank you Mitali! My way of reviewing hotels might be brutal and unfiltered, but this way will help hotels to improve their services and facilities, and gain more client if they consider it.
DeleteI wish there were more reviews like this - so raw and honest. Thank you! It gives me the information I need to decide if this location is somewhere I would stay... and I'm not sure tbh. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteThank you Jamie! I'M Hotel is still a good one, but need many improvements.
DeleteYour stay here sounds like an absolute delight! How cool to learn that the I'm Hotel in Makati has the biggest Onsen Spa. I would definitely love to try this. The birdcages at the pool area did look familiar! You might be right, maybe they commissioned the same designer. The acrylic swimming pool bottom - wow wow wow...I am a bit scared of heights, so this might take me a while to get used to haha. Overall looks like a great and comfortable hotel.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the swimming pool is very catchy. This is safe, but of course it needs constant checking because ewe don't know what might happen. hahaha
DeleteIt is good that they changed your room. And the new room looks worth staying. I like how you marked the photographs. The mermaid bar area and the pool area looks so good. Overall a good impression.
ReplyDeleteThanks Indrani. Now I think the manager assigned that time was so quick-to think and provide solution and extend their apology. I may stay with them again soon.
DeleteI loved your honest reviews on Hotel Makati. Good they changed your room as the earlier one was smelling awful. It must great to take dip in acrylic pools with the view of city.. looks like as if floating over the streets. I would love to pamper myself in Onsen Spa. Thanks for all the genuine reviews!
ReplyDeleteYeah they tried their best to make me happy.
DeleteIt used to stay in Makati for a close to three years. I am so bummed to know I never heard about the I’M Hotel Makati. It does look so plush and a great place for a staycation. Onsen Spa is a cleer winner for me. Good that they changed your room.
ReplyDeleteI will try their Onsen Spa soon!
DeleteI love the contemporary design. Actually we were considering to book this hotel however we didn't pushed through since we will be staying for 10 days umandar pagkakuripot ko hahaha. Next time, I would love to stay here for 2 to 3 days.
ReplyDeleteHahaha yeah i'm kuripot too! BUt you should try it. Their bathroom is awesome! And don't forget the onsen spa.
DeleteI love that you included the positives and the negatives - so many bloggers are afraid to do that! I'm disappointed also when I pay a lot of money and don't feel I'm getting my money's worth. But I really liked the birdcages and that view!
ReplyDeleteThat is true, I love that birdy cage as well! One of a kind.
DeleteYeah many bloggers never say the negative part or even share a bit of side comment because they are afraid that brands won't get them. I never kiss ass with my reviews, that's why I prefer that I paid my own way. And I never introduced myself as a blogger when I visit the hotels... I love being anonymous!
Wow this place looks beautiful. I love the lobby and the pool!
ReplyDeleteYeah, I like their high ceiling!
DeleteThe hotel itself looks good, if they work with your constructive criticisms, they should be fine. I also get posted off when influencers overdo with hyped and forget that the users come first. I like the concept of the mermaid bar. The Onsen spa experience could have been the highlight of you didn't miss it. I just love everything spa. Thanks for sharing your honest opinion.
ReplyDeleteI agree, and thanks for appreciating my review.
DeleteYeah I missed that spa, but I bought the spa package recently and I would definitely going to use it.
Well hopefully my next staycation at I'M Hotel would be better and have improvements.
A three star review for a 5 star properties sounds like the missed out on a couple of stars. Moldy rooms are a bad thing, but making a guest wait that long for service seems unconscionable for a five star property.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that is sad. I understand that many hotel staffs do profiling, and they sometimes gives good services for those who look $$$ on their faces. Sadly, I am more discreet that way, LOL.
DeleteSo sad to hear yu were disappointed with your stay. Especially when the whole idea is to get away for a staycation and relax. Mouldy damp smells are the worse! So no exceptable that you had to wait for so long for the Manager to come up and see you!
ReplyDeleteI agree. Well no one wants to face a disappointed guest (lol).
DeleteIf they improve for a better maybe I will consider visiting again.
Sorry that your experience at I'M Hotel Makati was awful. Having a moldy smell is bad and their poor service makes it even worse. Fortunately, you were moved to a different room, even though it was not perfect.
ReplyDeleteYeah, well I find a little relieved with that bathtub. That uplifts my spirit :D
DeleteI would love to stay in this hotel when I get a chance to visit Makati again. Thanks for sharing your honest review!
ReplyDeleteI had to stay there I'M Hotel from 17th Oct to 21st Oct, 2023. It's a crap bullshitting hotel. Absolutely not matching any 5 star rating. It can not be given more than 2 star. The Housekeeping and Reception have hand in gloves conspiracy to blame passengers for smoking in stair cases. And they charge you 10k Pesos and have cut in that. The facilities are rubbish. The décor is hell. The staff much below standard. All booking agencies like booking.com etc. are bullshitting about this hotel.
ReplyDelete
