Weekend at Forest Fest PH

Forest Fest PH at Arya Residences

It actually makes me happy seeing micro enterprises proudly sharing their products and services gathered in one lazy weekend to bring colors, laughter and inspiration to the many. And these micro enterprises are doing their best to come up with various ideas which are sustainable, give opportunity for good life and good job, and most importantly still caring for Mother Nature.

I was browsing my Facebook feed on my way to SM Aura Premier for my scheduled weekly groceries, when I saw this free event admission at Arya Residences for their Forest Fest PH. It’s a free event, which truly catchy my sight, then decided to have a little browsing and checked what is all about.

Forest Fest PH at Arya Residences

Forest Fest PH is an event tradeshow of various micro enterprises with their socially and environmentally responsible products and services. From foods, garments, accessories, services you name it all – Forest Fest PH was one of the lovely event I’ve visited.

Forest Fest PH at Arya Residences

During the event, they also have a pitch fest, were the shortlisted social entrepreneurs have an opportunity to present their innovative ideas before a panel of judges. At the end of the pitch fest, the most insightful (or in my own term “genius”) and impactful ideas will be awarded with grants up to Php450,000.00

And that’s awesome grant for start-ups, right?!

And since the event was open to the public I decided to dropped by and did my grocery later, LOL
I went to Arya Residences where the event was hosted and see what they have in there.

Travel journals made of water lilies
Jacinto and Lirio travel journals

Jacinto and Lirio travel journals

My attention was immediate catch by these beautifully crafted journals from Jacinto and Lirio, a Filipino lifestyle brand. The brand is proudly showcased its refillable travel journal, all handmade from water hyacinth plant leather.

Just look at that amazingly and very detailed handcrafted cover design? The cover is made of dried hyacinth leaves or commonly known as water lily.

Yeah, water lilies! You know, those flouting plants with cute flowers and sometimes truly annoys fish farmers because when they grow too much, they could kill all the fishes. And most of the time blocks the water passages, which causes an effin floods that damages livelihood and homes.

Okay okay that’s kinda traumatic, but it’s the truth!

These water lilies are so pretty when they have flowers, and so destructive!

Jacinto and Lirio travel journals

So now, a Philippine-based company have created this genius idea of making journals made from water lilies.

You helped to clean the water passage, and created something useful and beautiful!

I feel so proud to own one of these travel journals, and I thought it would be a lovely gift idea for your friends, family or to your boss.

Jacinto and Lirio travel journals

Aside from travel journals, they also have passport holders, wallets, organizers, etc. mostly travel related which I think is perfection.

I find it truly impressive and on-point. Okay am almost raving it now because I believe to the genius idea.

But hey, check this out. The lady associate that these are also available at Fully Booked stores (I love that store, seriously) and also available online through their website. Or contact then through their Facebook page https://www.facebook.com/jacintoandlirio

Dumingag Goodies
Dumingag Goodies

In front of Jacinto and Lirio booth is this eye-catchy goodies and I had a feeling I need to pay them a visit, which I didn’t regret it. The booth was showcasing locally produced products straight from Dumingag, Zamboanga Del Sur, Mindanao.

They have amazing products here such as Organic Table Wine, Herbal Tea (Turmeric, Ginger, Moringa, Mangosteen), Organic Rice Cookies, Organic Rice Macaroons, Pure Turmeric Powder, Tablea, Wild Honey, Corn Coffee, Rice Coffee, Sinamak Vinegar, Handmade Organic Soaps, Herbal Ointment, Handicraft Products and many more.

Dumingag Herbal Blend in Dulaw and Mangosteen

I’ve bought this Dumingag Herbal Blend in Dulaw and Mangosteen. It is sweetened but just enough to have a little hint of sweet taste, and I love it! It is now included to my tea collection.

It is LOVE! I bought it at Php200.00

And the most interest part is their proud Dumingag goddie box. It comes with their selected Dumingag products, carefully packages and perfect selection if you want to try all of their products and not get overwhelmed. Like a sample pack!

I though this Dumingag goodie box is a perfect gift option for your Mom’s friends, or your friends’ Moms or even to your in-laws.

And I love the packaging, seriously! I could think of using it as my chic purse added with some blings and I’m good to go.

Dumingag organic table wine

I’m also intrigue with their organic table wine – the Saging (or Banana) wine, and their Calabash (or Squash) wine. Never heard of this kind but they made me truly intrigue. But for now I couldn’t judge the taste of it as they don’t have an available taster, however the idea is impressive.

For more inquiries you can contact them through their Facebook Page https://www.facebook.com/dumingagorganics or email at dumingagorganics@gmail.com

Be creative and paint colors
Forest Fest PH at Arya Residences

Another fantastic booth called Art Shop were they showcased the creative items such as printed shirts handcrafted journals, and also lots of painting materials. They also have wide range of selection, plus they also offer art workshops and classes.
