Kurihama Flower Park in Kanagawa
When: 7th September to 27th October 2024
With approximately 18,000 square meters, Kurihama Flower Park is a green park that makes use of the natural topography and is famous as a flower attraction in the Tokyo metropolitan area. You can enjoy and relax with their attractions such as the Poppy and Cosmos Garden, Adventure Land with Godzilla slides, herb garden, and foot bath "Yuashiri (relaxing)", an archery and air rifle range that adults can also get absorbed in, a lawn plaza with an observatory, a prefectural tree plaza where trees from each prefecture are collected, an arboretum, a tsubaki or camellia garden, and a sky BBQ where you can enjoy a superb view of Tokyo Bay.
There is a flower train running through the park as well.
In September, "Rhode Scarlet" and "Lemon Bright" plots are blooming in the front and back of the flower garden.
During its peak season in October, the center of the flower garden blooms, and it changes to a flower field centered on pink and white also known as ‘Sensation’.

Sera Kogen Farm in Hiroshima

Satoyama Garden in Yokohama

Satoyama Garden is the largest flower bed in the city about 10,000 square meters will be decorated with 150,000 flowers of about 100 varieties under the theme of "Sparkling Hill". The annual Satoyama Garden Festa highlights Yokohama City's "Garden Necklace Yokohama 2024," an initiative by Yokohama City that connects the hearts of lovers of flowers and greenery and nurtures the natural environment.
In addition to holding a photo contest on the photo posting site "Hanamiru Spot Yokohama" (in cooperation with GreenSnap Co., Ltd.), the Yokohama Agricultural Cooperative will sell flower seedlings and other items at the main entrance plaza of Satoyama Garden, and FANCL Co., Ltd. will present recycled flower pots.

Sakura Furusato Square in Chiba

At Sakura Furusato Square, the Sakura Cosmos showcased about 500,000 colorful cosmos blooms. With Dutch windmills in the background, the cosmos spreads all around and combined with the blue sky, a wonderful scene spreads. Not only during the day but also with the sunset over Lake Inba-numa for a perfect photo spot.
At the venue, you can enjoy digging and cutting cosmos (unlimited for 100 yen for 5 bottles or 300 yen per bag). During the period, a food truck will also be open.

At Showa Kinen Park, which spans Tachikawa and Akishima in Tokyo, the Cosmos Festival is held in one of the largest cosmos fields in the city, covering a total area of 20,000 square meters. The park features three main cosmos fields—Higashi Flower Field, Nishi Flower Field, and Flower Hill—where around 4.4 million cosmos flowers bloom in full splendor.
Due to the different blooming periods of various cosmos varieties, you can enjoy the vibrant fields from mid-September to late October. The fields primarily feature yellow "Lemon Bright" and "Sensation," which blooms mainly in shades of pink, with a balanced mix of red and white. There are also "Kibanakosmos" that begin blooming during the warmer months. Additionally, the Autumn Bouquet Garden showcases 22 colorful flower varieties.
You will enjoy the gorgeous blooms of osmanthus trees from late September until mid-October, and different varieties of dahlias until November.
During the festival, stalls offering cosmos-themed food and drinks will be available, allowing visitors to enjoy the sights, tastes, and experiences of the event.

Jindai Botanical Gardens in Chofu City

Originally, the Jindai Botanical Gardens were a nursery for trees that were supposed to line Tokyo's many streets but in 1961, it was reopened as the metropolitan area's only botanical garden. The place is actually one of Kanto's most famous and popular rose gardens and was even awarded the WFRS Award of Garden Excellence in 2009.
Inside the symmetrical sunken garden, you'll find a total of 5,000 individual roses from about 300 different species, letting the garden shine in all variations of colors, vivid and pale alike. The best period to see the flowers in full bloom is mid-October and during that time, the entire garden is beautifully lit up and various events and guided tours are being held throughout the entire month of October.

Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki
The vast Hitachi Seaside Park in Ibaraki Prefecture, about two hours away from Tokyo by public transport, spreads over a total of around 200 hectares of land, filled with millions of different flowers. Every season, the park is dyed in a different color with seasonal flowers such as tulips, daffodils, and nemophilas.
Out of all the seasons, autumn might just be the most beautiful one, when about two million cosmos flowers are in full bloom. Besides this colorful carpet, another highlight of the park is the bright red kochia that covers the entire part of the park called Miharashi Hill with about 32,000 plants.
In summer, the kochia shines in a lush green and gradually starts to change color from late September until the entire hill is dipped in a deep, vivid red in mid-October.
In the "Pleasure Garden Area", visitors also get to enjoy various attractions, such as a giant Ferris wheel and even a roller coaster.
The best time to see Kochia in autumn is about 10 days in mid-October.

Nakamichi Seaside Park in Fukuoka

Uminonakamichi Seaside Park is located in the sandbar-like terrain "Umi Nakamichi" surrounded by two seas, Hakata Bay and Genkai Nada. It is a national park with a vast site of about 6 kilometers from east to west and an area of about 350 hectares. In the park, you can admire the flowers of the four seasons, and in the "Animal Forest", you can interact with cute animals such as squirrel monkeys, capybaras, and kangaroos. In addition, on March 15, 2022, a stay-type recreation base where you can experience "relaxing, learning, and playing" was opened in the "Light and Wind Plaza".

Takino Suzuran Hills National Park in Sapporo
