I AM FINALLY A FULL-PLEDGED AUSTRALIAN!
It was a six (6) years journey processing my documents, a long waiting time that sometimes feels like I am in limbo, yet I have to endure it and trust the process.
TRUST THE PROCESS.
That's one thing I have had in my mind for years. And when I finally ace the citizenship exam with flying colors (March 2025) and receive the invitation to my Australian Citizenship Ceremony (May 2025), it felt like a huge relief.
Like a fish bone stuck in my throat for years, and finally removed after pledging my allegiance to this country in front of the other new Australians and their families, and our local community, which I learned to love.
AUSTRALIA IS MY HOME.
And it feels like being born again!
It was a very overwhelming feeling, but full of joy, and I am truly grateful for all the support of my family, friends, and the whole community.
I AM AUSTRALIAN, LOUD AND PROUD!
This beautiful country isn't perfect, yet it taught me how to find my true self, be more compassionate to others, and become more generous to others in the spirit of mateship.
Along with my original cultures back home, which I will continue to carry on with me under my sleeves, this new chapter of my life will be another amazing one.
