Attention Starbucks drinkers! Today’s tutorial is waaaaay perfect for you!
I do understand that Christmas might be over for some, but not for us holiday addicts because for us Christmas will end, not until New Year’s Eve, lol
You might think that I am supposed to be enjoying my holidays relaxing and away with my laptop and not working – yes I do. But every now and then, ideas keep popping in my head and I couldn’t help but write it down.
For some people who knows me well, whenever I do visit Starbucks I do only order these: well-brewed coffee, with no milk plus a slice of any available cakes or cookies they have on shelves.
Unlike my friends and most of you guys - I’m not a fan of those frappuccinos, and any other drinks that are full of creams, and milk and way too colorful, as I find them too sweet for me.
Plus the fact that these drinks make my tummy suffer and I always end up having a date with my phone inside the toilet.
So when it comes to promoting their super fun drinks – I’m not their market.
Seriously not good for me.
But the brewed coffee? Ahhh it’s heavenly!
No questions asked.
Actually, this tutorial suddenly popped into my head 4-days ago before Christmas Day. Your belle and my senior friend drop by at the nearest Starbucks in the SUNLIFE Building to get us some morning coffee, and for her to pick up her five thousand worth of gift certificates while chatting about our plans for the holidays.
When I finally got my freshly brewed coffee and a slice of chocolate cake, I was instantly delighted with how adorable their newly designed cups were!
From a bare and literally boring white cup, turns to a little festive enough for this holiday season.
The traditional red cups are here, with fairy-lights design, and a cute coffee holder that says “Crafted by Hand and Heart” which reminds me ahh it’s really fucking Christmas! And I love it.
But I admit my feeling of disgust each time I see empty Starbucks cups or any coffee cups lying around the street, after someone’s coffee and smoke break. I felt so lucky that I was working on one of the busy streets of Bonifacio Global City, and yes I always have this feeling of appreciation for the blue-collar guys who diligently clean the streets, and I couldn’t help but notice their feeling of disappointment that still, in spite of these streets having a nicely, colored trash bin – there are many humans are still inhumane who will just leave their trash like scavenger dogs.
I won’t be sorry for my language because it’s true and it’s truly a disgusting sight every morning!
This made me think – you might easily buy those expensive cups of creamy coffee, but your money can’t buy good character just like you are paying for your cups of coffee.
There I said it!
And while I’m sipping my coffee suddenly, this idea pops in me like someone threw some magical fairy dust onto my head!
I mean, this Starbucks cup is really good and I feel sorry that I will just throw it away after finishing my coffee. I don’t know if you also noticed but, recently their cups have been really sturdy thick, and hard, unlike some.
So after I’ve finished my coffee, I immediately cleansed it with liquid soap and water, and surprisingly it's still well erect! (Am not sorry for the use of the word but that’s the best word I could describe it, lol)
So while celebrating my quiet holidays, I sneaked into my workroom and made this awesome tutorial!
How to Reuse Your Starbucks Cups and Make it a Goodie Bag!
We just need these simple things like:
• Empty coffee cups – but for now let’s make Starbucks coffee cups a highlight because their cups are awesome!
• A pair of scissors
• Some Japanese tissue paper – I’ve chosen red, but you may use white too.
• Stapler of course
• And some delights you want to pack
Like I’ve said earlier, Starbucks cups are more study (and erect!) than other coffee cups available from other coffee shops. And there is more fun though.
So after cleaning it thoroughly with liquid soap and water, it’s time to work my magic!
You need to unroll out the upper part of the cup, just like what I did above.
Then after unrolling it out, cut the remaining white part.
Then you’ll come up with something like this above! Make sure to clean it out evenly with no excesses.
You may start gathering those goodie delight you would like to pack! Candies, nail polishes, individual eye shadows, make-up brushes, or you aim for a little naughty delight and wrapping some limited-edition condoms and lubricants, anything will do!
Wrapped it using your Japanese tissue paper and insert it into your Starbucks coffee cups.
Until you make it like this! Locked it with a stapler in the middle to secure the cup.
Remember their new coffee cup holder? It’s really cute and it’s a total shame to just ignore and throw it away. So get it and cut this holder just leaving the “Crafted by Hand and Heart” print.
We will make this cardboard as our name gift tag! Isn’t this exciting!
After naming your hand-crafted gift tag, attach it to your coffee cup goodie bag, and VIOLA! You have a Starbucks Christmas Goodie Bag!
It’s eco-friendly and easy to make and you may let your kiddos help you make it your parent-kids bonding moment.
You will avoid just throwing these amazing cups, and I’m telling you that you must start collecting Starbucks cups, and not only stickers just to get free planners (that I know you never make to use).
You may use this trick for any occasion, and your only limitations are your imagination.
Stop throwing those cups and learn to recycle!
This will be a HUGE PLUS to your personality, trust me!
