Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Bangkok is the city that truly amazed my traveler’s instinct, which makes me want to explore it even better. During my recent visit, I discovered that there are many faces of Bangkok that most travelers and social media does not share. Well, I am excited to share you some of those discoveries very soon.
For the meantime, I would like to share you my recent stay at this trendy hotel located at Sukhumvit 11.

Mon Amour never informed me before what does Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel looks like, and I was so surprised when we check-in here after my overnight stay at Armoni. Located just a walking distance from my first hotel, Aloft Bangkok is one of those trendiest hotels I have been.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel
This hotel looks like everyday there's a party!

Aloft Bangkok is one of those many hotels managed by Marriott International with a distinctive select, modern, and fun hotel. With savvy design and free-flowing energy, you can celebrate your travel style in youthful and artistic vibe. This hotel has a loft-inspired design, totally tech-savvy rooms with free Wi-Fi and great social scene.

I like that Aloft Bangkok is very accessible and just walking distance to many shopping malls, nightlife, and variety of restaurants. This hotel is also just almost 10-minute stroll to Nana BTS Skytrain and MRT Subway stations, and also about 13-15minutes by foot to Asoke BTS Station and Terminal 21

The Lobby

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

It isn’t hard to notice this hotel because of its very energetic vibe (as if all day and night is a party!). Their driveway is very colourful and ornate with these wall graffiti. Inside the lobby welcomes a reception area which is very cool and relaxing, also decorated with many colourful wall art. With the design, you can already determine who their main target guests in the travelling market.

The lobby is very spacious with these comfortable couches. I also noticed how polite their hotel people are. On the left side of the reception area located this snack bar where they served drinks and snacks.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

We stayed here during the King’s birthday, which is unfortunately for us because no stores, hotels and shops are allowed to sell drinks with alcohol, and yes including our hotel. I admire their strong resistance on not letter us buy even just 1 bottle. Yes, we are kinda disappointment however, that is the city’s ordinance and we have to respect that. We ended up buying some juices, and ice cream (yes sweet attack!) and they are also good.

At the upper floor of this snack bar located their gaming area with billiard tables.

The Room

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

We picked this Chic Room (32sqm) with King sized-bed for our weekend stay. The bed is very comfortable and sturdy for both of us, especially mon amour is quite heavier. There is an iPod dock on the bedside and lots of electrical outlet to charge our mobile phones.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Our room have this sofa and throw pillows and a huge window overlooking the city. It also have a television with decent number of cable channel, telephone, well-stocked fridge and some snacks.
This room actually can fit into three person, if the other one doesn’t mind sleeping in that sofa.

The Bathroom

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Though our room doesn’t have a private bath, the shower area is spacious for both of us. It has a decent hot and cold shower, refillable toiletries products, and a good vanity area. I also like that our wardrobe is huge enough to fit our belongings, with safety deposit box, a coffee maker, and complete with generous number of towels and bedroom slippers.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

I am also grateful that they have a hair dryer because that is very important to me. I never dare going out with wet hair because it more damages my hair and easily attracts lots of dirt from the pollution and dusts.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel
Our bathroom have this full-sized mirror, which makes the illusion of much spacious bathroom, and I like it coz it makes me easy to see my whole self when I am dressing-up.

We also have this flat iron and board for our wrinkly clothes, but seriously I can’t remember the last time I use this thing, even from other hotels. Or maybe I am just too lazy to do it by myself. Don’t worry because Aloft Bangkok also offer ironing services, just dial “0”.

The Pool Area

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Located at the 10th Floor is their coolest pool area. You can enjoy a good swim and a great view of Sukhumvit area. They also host regular and weekend parties here, but during our stay it was a very quiet one.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel
Me and mon amour loves to swim and I am glad that he is satisfied with this hotel. Ohh such a great view!

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

This hotel is also family-friendly, and most of the guest during our stays are non-locals from various regions, all vacationers. This seems an ideal hotel for first-timers especially if you want to test the crowd in Sukhumvit. Since this hotel is in the heart of the entertainment district, expect that majority of the guests are non-locals and mostly in the mood for the nightlife.

Apparently, both of us are not in that mood. We just want to chill and relax for the weekend!

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Don’t worry because this pool area also have a small kiddie pool ahead (left side) ohh I was relieve!

Crave Wine Bar & Restaurant

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Located adjacent to the main building, this wine bar and restaurant is one of the good place that we had experience. They offer a wide selection of wine and other drinks and the foods are amazing.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

They also offer this seafood buffet for 750baht per person and it was one of the best in the city. And of course, ala carte is available.

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Ohh my, these foods are making me feel hungrier, and we are so glad we got to experience dining here. Our room does not comes with free breakfast (which is fine coz we have to enjoy the nearby restaurants) however dining at Crave during dinnertime is the best!

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Don’t you want to savour these shrimps?!

Review: Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 Hotel

Other Amenities:

Aside from 298 soundproof rooms and 24-hour room service, Aloft Bangkok Sukhumvit 11 also have 24-hour fitness centre and lounge bar, and a computer station for your perusal. They also have business centre and an event place. Aside from nightclub, they also offer tour and ticketing assistance. They also offer free shuttle service within 3.00km distance. Self-parking and valet are also available.

Verdict:

Our stay was a lovely one, although we can’t really party because of the national holiday. However, the hotel’s services are very nice, with good location and we don’t need to go farther just to enjoy the area. Almost everything are walking distance! We recommend this place for first-timers and for energetic travelers who loves to party and socialize.

What a funky place to stay. We are always on the lookout for places to stay in Bangkok as we transit through quite often on our way home to Australia or back to Europe. It certainly has everything that we would need for a comfortable stay.
