Hello ladies!
How’s your weekend? Ohh mine was a blast as I’ve goes to some odd places I’ve always wanted to visit, and also had a quick stop (actually not too quick, you’ll see) at a new lifestyle and leisure concept store called Mumuso Korea when then opened their new branch at Venice Grand Canal, McKinley. I actually almost missed it, not until I saw its sponsored Facebook ad suddenly pops on my feed, and I thought this is something I should visit last weekend. Anyway, it is just a 5-minute drive away from my place!
It was a lovely Sunday afternoon and the weather seems smiling at me. I was actually worried whether this loveliness turns into sudden darkness when and pours its heavy luck of rain on me. But then I took the chance and, what the heck – I will take a cab if the rain pours, lol.
So I took a jeep, and stop at the Korean Embassy, and decided to just walk for like 15-minutes going to Venice Piazza. While walking up the hill, I couldn’t my eyes wander around and I realized that there are many changes that happened to this place – it became more progressive, greener, and more colorful!
I will share more about the McKinley Hills very soon, but first let’s talk about this new lifestyle concept store, which I know some of you are kind of familiar with, and some are still confused about.
Confused??? Of what?? And Why???
I guess you’ve already known my penchant for cute and useful things, and that’s one of the reasons why I visited the Mumuso Korea branch at Venice Grand Canal.
I’ve tried to check online for the background of this brand, and Google only shows the other bloggers' video haul, and blog post hauls (and more haul, haul, haul!). But I find it isn’t enough.
I’ve even watched all those video hauls of prior bloggers who already shopped from Mumuso Korea but it turns out – NADA. Not enough information, I find them kind of lazy enough to do research and understand the brand and the products per se, and I thought these posts are such a waste of time.
So using my creative and diligent digging – I will explain to you some things that I’ve got about this brand.
Pantone has recently declared the 2017 color of the year, which is Greenery – and I love it!
I don’t know if it's luck or just because the color Green is synonymous with prosperity and peaceful living – but MUMUSO Korea’s logo is color Green with white font.
Its logo’s simplicity actually gives a cool effect and I like it. Easy to read, identify, and easy to remember!
MUMUSO Korea has an impressive selection of skincare products – facial cleansing foam, facial cleanser, toners and emulsions, serums, and cleansing oils – you effin name it – they have it.
MUMUSO Korea hand creams and hair removal creams in different variants, and cute packages. These hand creams and hair removals cost Php99.00.
MUMUSO Korea also has a wide selection of face masks and it’s hard to resist not buying them all! This face mask costs Php399 good for 10-pieces of face masks.
*****
Do you know that MUMUSO Korea has a very interesting name???
After my diligent research about its company, I’ve found out that MUMUSO is also called MUMUSO Hibiscus life, inspired by the hibiscus flower – a national flower of the Republic of Korea.
The company believes that hibiscus gives happiness and good life, thus the born of the brand and its philosophy of giving happiness to its customers.
Hibiscus is also known as an infinite flower, a symbol of eternal beauty.
MUMUSO Korea is aiming to become Asia’s most valuable life and leisure department store brand.
Here in the Philippines, MUMUSO Korea is owned and managed by GREATSPAN INCORPORATED, a company focused on the wholesale and retail business including distribution and established here in the Philippines, MUMUSO Korea – Philippines has now Seven (7) branches, and we expect its continuous expansion.
MUMUSO Korea offers a wide selection of lifestyle products, which includes personal care and cosmetics, bath and body care, household accessories, kitchen accessories, home, and living accessories, beauty accessories, toys for kids, cleaning supplies, etc. They even have impressive mobile accessories, such as headphones, a wireless keyboards, portable chargers, and batteries.
When I visited the store, I’ve already expected the warm welcome of the local shoppers as I understand Filipino taste in shopping cuteness and affordable products. So I’ve braced myself for some numbers of shoppers bumping each other and excitedly want to browse and grab their own favorites. MUMUSO Korea branch in Venice Grand Canal is not that big but shoppers can easily look around and find their items because they are all well organized into their respective shelves and stands.
Staffers are very friendly welcoming you with their smile, greeting shoppers Annyeonghaseyo!
So does it mean this store is a Korean store and their products are all from Korea????
MUMUSO Korea is a Chinese brand with a Korean touch, having its main office in Guangdong, Shanghai China. The brand doesn’t claim that their products are Korean authentic, but what I do like about this brand is the marketing twist that they’ve used which is impressive.
If you tried googling about Mumuso Korea, the Google search engine will give you this:
Noticed that the Mumuso Korea website is written in the Traditional Chinese language, but its website domain is registered in Korea, which makes sense to add that Korean flavor. When you click the website, Mumuso Korea is written both in Traditional Chinese and Hangul (Korean language).
Mumuso Korea (under license of Mumuso, Co. Ltd.) website which you can browse their latest products, updates and also shop online. If you have a Weibo and WeChat account, you can also them. (Weibo is not a free account and I’m still working on registering mine using my Dada’s business address at Shenzen).
Mumuso Korea Philippines website, which currently acts as a portal page, not an online store. You may also check their Facebook page for quicker updates.
MUMUSO Korea is a lifestyle concept store with a Korean flavor – thus, doesn’t necessarily translate that MUMUSO stores are Korean.
To simplify this explanation it is like:
“A beautiful Chinese girl, who travelled to Korea and acquired some Korean culture, and then one day she dressed in Hanbok and applied what she learn from Korean cultures. She eats like a Korean, speaks and lives like a true blooded Korean.”
Amazing isn’t it?!
Mumuso Korea Volumizing Shampoo (Shampooing Volumateur) which are packaged similarly to the Loccitane Shampoo bottles.
Mumuso Korea Horse Oil Shampoo and Conditioners both in 600ml which costs Php199.00 per bottle.
So does it means that their products are fakes???
The answer is NO.
Although most of their products are Made-in-China, (you can see it on their label written in Chinese character or Hangul, with address in Guangdong) but it doesn’t automatically translate that these are of low quality and/or counterfeits. There are many amazing and good quality products that are Made-in-China which are also cheaper and practical, because they applies a large-scale global procurement systems that makes the costs less cheaper.
Take note that even your favorite designer clothes and your iPhones are Made-in-China, so don’t be a fucking snobbish bitch, okay.
Mumuso Korea Aloe Vera Gel (similar to that of Nature Republic variant) cost Php99.00 each tub, and Mumuso Korea Bamboo Charcoal Fresh Mud Mask 300grams which only cost Php249.00
Mumuso Korea applies a large-scale global procurement process which makes all their products affordable and not compromising its quality.
Mumuso Korea Sleeping Mask, 150grams in 3 variants: Crystal Rose Nourishing Sleeping Mask, Crystal Red Wine Thorough Sleeping Mask, and Deep Sea Extracted Mud Facial Mask. I love the package because it comes with that resealable container which you can also recycle when you finished its contents.
Mumuso Korea Fresh Bamboo Moisturizing Soothing Gel in 260grams which costs Php199.00 per tube – yeah quite like a clown version of that The Nature Republic’s (or was that The Faceshop???) soothing gel, but whatever I like its presentation.
Mumuso Korea Collagen Hand Creams for only Php99.00
They have crazy wide selections of skincare products, right?!
They also got cosmetic products life your favorite cushion compact with these cute designs, BB creams, liquid foundations, compact face powder, eye shadows, lipstick, etc.
Even your mani-pedi pampering is also available!
They also have super friendly Mumuso staffers who are ready to assist their customers. You want to try their eye-shadow pallet or their eyeliners – simply asked the staffers and they are happy to assist you!
Or even give you free makeover :D
Mumuso Korea also has good selections of mobile accessories such as headphones, wireless speakers (costs range from Php399 to 499), a wireless keyboard that costs Php599.00, and portable travel batteries ranges from Php799 to Php899 each.
Cute and sweet flush toys for are also available, and some attractive notebooks and stationeries, puzzles for toddlers, and fashionable backpacks.
So if you are going to visit their branch (especially in Venice Grand Canal branch) expect some crowd because really who doesn’t like to shop, and throw some little cash for these cute items.
Well, even I got some items (mostly vanity items) which I am so excited to try and share my review soon on a separate post!
I went home as a happy and smiling lady again, just like when Mr. Sunshine greeted me. I felt that Hibiscus Life!
Mumuso Korea - Philippines has seven (7) branches located at Lucky Chinatown in Binondo Manila, Farmer’s Plaza in Quezon City, UP Town Center in Quezon City, East Mall in Quezon City, Ayala South Park Mall in Muntinlupa, Venice Grand Canal in McKinley Hill Taguig, and in Bay City Mall located in Poblacion Batangas.
MUMUSO Korea brand believes that living a simple but not monotonous life makes people relaxed and happy.
What are you favorite Mumuso Korea items? I would LOVE to know your stories!

ReplyDeleteYou can check their online store (but you need google translate ) coz its written in Traditional Chinese :) Their masks are good!
DeleteYep! I know this store. I've seen a lot (especially MINISO) in Guangzhou :)
ReplyDeleteFrom Manila with Love Blog
yeah MINISO is also a born in China branded as Japanese :)
DeleteI have not heard of MUMUSO Korea before but we do have similar lifestyle concept stores. They are my favourite kind of stores.
ReplyDeleteOh what brand it is? I guess its also fantastic!
Deletewoah I could spend a few hours in there.. Loving those pink and mint coloured headphones!
ReplyDeleteme too! I'm planning to buy it this weekend!
DeleteWow! That store looks crowded! Is it always this crowded or was there some special event? (That's how you know a shop is good! It's where all the people are!)
ReplyDeleteYeah, foot traffic is also good! Items are so affordable everyone can afford it.
DeleteThis is an interesting brand. I have never heard of their products. I love the packaging, it is so kawaii! I will have to check this brand out more online. I always research throughly before trying.
ReplyDeleteYeah please do and I hope you'll like it :)
Deletedo you happen to be the endorser of Mumuso? @Blair?
DeleteNope. I'm an endorser of MUMUSO, nor affiliate to them. I'm just one of their customers.
DeleteHi Blair,
ReplyDeleteI dont think there is any MUMUSO concept store here in Malaysia.
But if I'm not mistaken, I do see some of their product here instead.
Wonder if they might open one here in future, cause I would want to visit one too.
Yeah hope someone from Malaysia would partner with MUMUSO Korea for branch opening! You may check their main website for more of their products.
DeleteMumuso looks like such a cool fun place. I love that the staffers are friendly and will help you try out the makeup.
ReplyDeleteYeah, that's also reasons why more people are coming :)
DeleteLooks like lots of variety to satisfy everyone's needs. Pop a hand cream in your purse and those jars would look nice on the counter and the ability to reuse is just a bonus!
ReplyDeleteI know right! That's why I find them so attractive :)I will buy more items next time I visit.
DeleteI love their packaging. Times for me to go there to shop for my beauty products.
ReplyDeleteHope I will expand to other Southeast Asian countries :D
DeleteMumuso sounds like a really great brand, love that it's Chinese with a Korean touch. I love Korean beauty products so might try mumuso
ReplyDeleteI know right, their products are soo cute! And I love promoting Asian brands.
DeleteThe shop organize a bit similar to "Yubixx'/ "Minixx".
ReplyDeleteWondering when will Mumuso available in Malaysia.
Oh hopefully next here! Let's WISH!
DeleteThis looks like a wonderful store. I would love to try the Mumuso Korea nail polish.
ReplyDeleteYeah, they also have the duo nail polish which I love too!
DeleteI could really use some good skincare products especially now. The winter is destroying me. Lol. I'm always super dry this season.
ReplyDeleteOh you need lots of moisturizers, dear :)
DeleteThis place sounds like every beauty lovers dream! I would totally blow so much money on those face masks!
ReplyDeleteMe too, the face mask is less than a dollar and its crazy! Soo affordable :)
DeleteOh, this looks very happening...loads of varieties..Must check!
ReplyDeletehahaha yeah, I feel like a kid in a candy store!
DeleteOooh Mumuso looks like a great place for korean beauty products! We have a similar one here called Yubiso, Miniso & Kioda. I wonder if they're from the same parent company haha
ReplyDeleteOhh I see, I must check those stores too!
Deletekorean products are always nice, quality ones. :) .. first time hearing of this brand though.
ReplyDeleteYeah very new brand but looks good!
Deletenow i know where is a good place to shop! mwahahaha. thanks so much for the good tip.
ReplyDeleteCheap products are definitely great but I find that I'd be willing to spend more on something that I know is genuine and effective. Not sure if their skincare is good as I haven't tried them before but from the looks of how they're copying other korean brands' designs, I'm a little sceptical. Their aloe vera gel looks exactly like the Nature Republic one and their green tea line looks similar to the Innisfree one as well.
ReplyDeleteI truly agree Audrey! I am also willing to spend on something I believe and truly works on me.. and I was sooo stunned when I saw their product line especially their skincare and cosmetics... others might be replicas, but I'm giving them a benefit of the doubt, so I will try these products for myself and observe if it works on me :D
DeleteAnyway, these are beneficial to consumers who can't afford to cash out bigtime for popular skinacare brands
They have an online shop right. The range of products look great. Have to check some of the products
ReplyDeleteYes they do Amrita! But it is in Traditional Chinese and Hangul, so might need to use a Google Translate app.
Deletewow their product looks really nice! They do sell a lot of things in one shop too =D
ReplyDeleteYeah and if I didn't leave I think I will ended up ripping my card, lol
DeleteLooks like this store conquered majority product. I like exploring stores like this as it holds a lot of variety.
ReplyDeleteyes and it doesn't need to cash out more money for an item. They are all affordable even a grade school kid could afford it.
DeleteTheir items look nice and affordable, plus they seem to be getting a lot of customers. How come the information is so scarce across the internet? I can lots of products here that would e great to buy.
ReplyDeleteYeah, the information are so limited probably because the company per se doesn't invested yet on online publicity as their products per se are selling itself. :)
DeleteThanks for visiting Sheri!
Blair you always get the best product. If only some of these were available in the U.S.
ReplyDeleteThank you Valerie! Yeah, that's the unique part of Asian products. You must visit Asia and have your shopping tour!
DeleteGood work Blair! I haven't really heard about the brand before but I am pretty sure that it must be a good one. The organisation of the store is commendable.
ReplyDeleteyou're welcome Laveena! I am hoping to see more products very soon!
DeleteAnother brand to try with a lot of different products. Good tips :)
ReplyDeleteMiriam Ernst - http://www.be-sparkling.com
Thank you for visiting Miriam!
DeleteI have not seen these here. At times I feel really confused with so many brands competing for attention. This looks promising, I will watch out for it.
ReplyDeleteThe good thing about competition is that prices are getting low, and that's also favorable to the customers.
DeleteGosh, I wasn't expecting to read: "Take note that even your favorite designer clothes, and your iPhones are Made-in-China, so don’t be a fucking snobbish bitch, okay."
ReplyDeleteYou must be quite passionate about made-in-china products.
Hello Sarah,
DeleteHahaha not much my Dear - I just constantly read the business and industry news and it is mere facts that most of the parts, and assembling of materials are being done in China due to cheap labor. It's business!
Sounds like some great products. I would love to try their bamboo green soothing gel, very interesting.
ReplyDeletexx, Kusum | www.sveeteskapes.com
This kind of gel can be use in many purpose - can be use for your hair, as moisturizer for face and body, including your hands and feet.
DeleteI love learning the story behind these products and the hibiscus flower. Sounds like an exciting find!
ReplyDeleteSo true! I got so excited when I'm doing this research, and I'm happy that many of your appreciates it :)
DeleteI found the products in Mumuso interesting. I bought some accessories there. The Bluetooth speakers are very affordable! Their powerbanks look nice.
ReplyDeleteI noticed that they copied the packaging of Innisfree for some of their products. Also, their website is in Simplified Chinese, not Traditional. :)
Yeah their products are so affordable. Like I've said - MUMUSO is a Chinese brand dressed in Korean vibe. Their products are nor fake just like what others are saying. In my opinion they are alternative clones.
Deleteaww. i probably wouldn't be buying skincare/make up products from them if they're made in china. since china mandates animal testing. :(
ReplyDeleteHello Monica,
DeleteYeah but its hard to tell. Not all products that are Made in China have low quality. Only international media, and bad experiences gone too exaggerated makes everything too bad.
Hi! Just visited their branch in Farmers Plaza and I'm really tempted to buy their skin care products. Were yoi able to try it? How do you find it?
ReplyDeleteHello Joy,
DeleteYeah I did, and they are works well. I've got their Mumuso sleeping mask, the lipstick like a Laneige clone, and a facial wash. I will share my review soon!
Hi! Have you tried their horse oil gel? I bought 1 today. Im just finishing my tub of nature republic aloe soothing gel and then ill be using the horse oil gel. Ive been looking for mumuso skincare product reviews but there's nothing.
ReplyDeleteHello Maria!
DeleteI haven't tried it. My MUMUSO products review will be up soon, so keep posted :)
I'm excited to see you product review! :) I'm curious... :)
ReplyDeleteI'm so excited to see your product review! :)
ReplyDeleteI did! Check the Beauty Review on the navigation.
DeleteI will. Thanks Ms. Blair :)
DeleteOh another new brand, something similar to miniso adn yubiso. Hope to see them openning a shop in Malaysia.
ReplyDeleteYes YingYin and they just opened their newest and first store in Moscow, Russia last week! It's crazy!!!!
DeleteThe product they produce look the same like other korean brand. But the price more cheaper. A good dupe .
ReplyDeleteI agree. Recently I saw many made in China skincare that are branded as Korean label. I will share you more updates soon!
DeleteOh that is new korean brand?
ReplyDeleteIt is a Chinese-brand with a Korean touch :D
DeleteCan you please prove how Mumuso got touched by Korean???
ReplyDeleteDo you know what conceptualization means?
DeleteHello Amar,
DeleteYeah I saw that video featuring MUMUSO Vietnam... And here's what I understand, in a business perspective.
MUMUSO Vietnam and MUMUSO Philippines shares same brand, but they are operated by two different companies.
MUMUSO Vietnam opened recently and yeah received a fuss due to its popularity, and that's common. It is given that their stocks of products have similar labelling with known branded products, because maybe using the "existing labelling layout" is much affordable that making a new labelling. Take note that label designing isn't cheap.
MUMUSO Philippines as I have noticed in the past months, decided to change all the labels, and created/invested their own labelling.
I think whatever decisions that Vietnam team did, isn't an issue with the Philippine team.
It's like this: MUMUSO Vietnam and MUMUSO Philippines, and other MUMUSO branches in other countries are siblings, but have different Fathers (the local company), but shares the same Mother (the MUMUSO brand name).
Oh in addition to my comment, they might be like "half-siblings" but they have different business strategies.
DeleteSan may mumuso here in paranaque and taguig ?
ReplyDeleteMeron po sa Venice Pizza sa McKinley Hills, meron din sa Market Market, and also sa Taguig Mall. Am not sure if meron sa Paranaque :)
Delete
