Staycation at Raffles Makati

Staycation at Raffles Makati

Another luxury overnight staycation?

Ahh for me is such a sweet word! The word per se makes me dream, it is a very inspiring word for me.

And who wouldn’t be?

During my staycation, I had an opportunity for my other self, relax and not overthinking the time, and pressure at work, just enjoying my me-time to regain my strength and reboot my mind to gain new ideas.

As I was browsing my photo archive, I stumbled upon these photos during our overnight stay at Raffles Makati. This was taken two years ago when I and Amore decided to spend a night here after our busy day (a very spontaneous decision that we had, something that is quite normal to us whenever we are together).

BOOK HERE

Staycation at Raffles Makati
OMG, the hallway is luxuriously carpeted!

We didn’t expect to get a room during that day, however, we are lucky to book the junior suite which is very appropriate for us.

We are both so busy and occupied with our business that day, and after our romantic dinner, we thought that spending the night here is much romantic.

Raffles Makati is one of the not-ordinary luxury hotels in Manila. Every part of the room has its own unique appeal that is so pleasing to every guest.

From the lobby to elevator and hallway per se I couldn’t help but feel so amazed at how exquisite they designed this hotel. Pity, I haven’t got a chance to take many photos as I want, and even explore Raffles' other amenities ( a downside whenever I am with Amore, something that I don’t do with him, as he always gives me that questioning looks, hahaha).

Am already used to it... hahaha.

But each time we are together, most of the time I forgot my blogging lifestyle.

Actually, he's the one who reminded me if I would like to take some photos of our room, LOL.

And even our living is and entire rooms are carpeted too! Well, that's my kind of bespoke.

Our room has a living area, where we can enjoy ourselves a bit while drinking tea and coffee. They have complimentary coffee for us, using this Nespresso which my Amore loves. It has a flat-screen television, the latest fashion and design magazines, and a daily broadsheet.

And it's not the local broadsheet!

Am talking New York Times baby!

On the right side, you will see this huge mirror, and I couldn’t help to take some selfies!

It also has this working table with complete wifi and LAN connection, telephone and some stationeries from Raffles Makati. Exquisite decors are also displayed such as these unique figurines and paintings on every wall of this room.

And if you want to relax and read, they also have these English books like The Dark Heart of Italy by Tobias Jones, Georgina's Campaign by Barbara Reeves, and A Chorus of Detectives by Barbara Paul.

They even have interesting books like Soviet Union 2000, and Murder in Paradise.

Here is our room’s dresser which is spacious enough for us.

Complete with two bathrobes and slippers, laundry and sanitary bags, with many drawers, and a functional safety deposit box for all our valuable items.

Our room has double doors and a mini window that divides the living area and our bedroom. We also enjoyed free food and drinks, and the 24-hour room service with our butler!

It is also adorned with paintings like this one.

And speaking of our bedroom here it is!

Staycation at Raffles Makati
My apology for our messy love nest :D

I think this is one of the exquisite beds that I’ve tried in all the hotels that I’ve been to. Raffles Makati uses the finest Egyptian sheets, and our duvets (if I remember right) is 5 sheets! I also noticed a duvet that has real feathers in it, no wonder it is so soft and makes me sleep so comfortably. My Amore loves it too and we thought we can also have one for our home :D

Aside from its premium beddings, they also have a pillow menu!

Our main bedroom also has another 40cm plasma TV, premium channels (ahh there’s my favorite HBO and NHK World!), and a DVD player. Also, have free wifi and a wired internet connection.
And of course, I won’t forget to share my other favorite:

Our luxurious bathroom! Oh my, I was truly excited about it!

Staycation at Raffles Makati
My favorite deep-soaking bathtub which is very rare to most hotels in the city. Plus these very nice interior designs, lightings, and separate showers with rainfall showerhead.

Complete with bathroom toiletries and Les Notes De Lanvin as our bath products. I felt truly pampered!

The bathroom is truly inspiring, and I spent a couple of hours soaking in my tub, while my Amore is working and having a Skype call from Hong Kong.

Indeed am a pampered girlfriend!

It is such a pity that our stay was just overnight, however, I had a wonderful time. We are thinking to come back this coming holiday and maybe spend the whole weekend, to enjoy the other amenities of Raffles Makati. I can’t wait for that romantic weekend!

Raffles Makati has recently been awarded 4-Stars by Forbes Travel Guide 2018. Last 2017, they also have this spot!

Also, we are excited to spend a romantic getaway at Raffles Singapore after its renovation.

  5. Makati is my favorite locality in Manila. Some say that it is too crowded and congested, but I find that the place has heaps and heaps of character. While I used to enjoy the Green Zone near to the Raffles hotel, I've never been stayed at the hotel. It looks and feels like an awesome place for a staycation.

    1. Yes it is. Makati is congested during weekdays because this is the center of commerce in Manila, and most of the people working here are from nearby towns such as Cavite, Laguna, Bulacan, etc.

But during weekends, there many are places in Makati that looks like a ghost town.
