Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party

Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party

How many smartphones do you own right now?

Some of you owns more than one, right?

And believe me, having more than one phone is a norm nowadays, especially many smartphone brands are now in the market that offers new technology and features (but mostly offers the same), and because the competition, prices of smartphones are getting so cheap.

Currently, I have two smartphone units that I’ve been using both for personal and business (but the other one is more on blogging purposes, a backup camera phone for my DSLR camera), and I may say that my relationship with these two units are getting more intimate. And believe me, if these phones knows how talk (literally), these two serves as my PA and companion, and knows me more than my bestfriend, lol.

So why I’m sharing this?

Every one of us have that unique and special relationship with our phones. We use it in many purposes, both personal and business, etc. And there comes a time that it is hard to let them go.
I like phones that serves me well – for my blogging and social media work, I want my smartphone to be able to capture that perfect moment with clarity, and records video in perfection.

A smartphone that will serve as my travel companion, help me to capture great photographs, organized my schedules, and with top-notched memory spaces. Having a sleek, and stylish design is also important – it should be match to my personality and vibe. Because let’s admit it - a smartphone is such a good ice-breaker during a cold and dull conversation (and I would be thrilled if it could literally break a brick of ice, lol).

Few weeks ago, I was invited to party with the launch of new OPPO F7 – the new model that claims to be the AI-powered selfie phone. I’ve heard OPPO brand for years - I think 4-years ago which also became famous for many Singaporean bloggers, shared their OPPO-esque experience.

What makes OPPO F7 special?

Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party

Aside from the sleek body, and that magnificent red version (which I think would be a perfect pair for my red Nikon DSLR) this OPPO F7 have that interesting 25MP front camera which I believe will be an awesome experience to satisfy our narcissism-side of personality. Imagine have that vividly clear camera right on your face, so every angle, and every beautiful flaws we have will be clearly visible AF – but also features a beauty enhancement features, in case you hate to flaunt those imperfect beauty.

I think with this vivid front camera, OPPO F7 would be a promising smartphone assistant for new breed of vloggers and content creators like me.

Apart from the best-in-class selfie technology, the F7 also comes with a 6.23-inch Super Full Screen Display with 2280x1080 Full HD+ resolution for a crystal-clear, immersive viewing experience. It also is powered by 12nm Octa-Core processor with two dedicated A.I. cores and 4GB RAM that deliver hardware performance of up to 80% faster than its predecessor, and upgraded storage of 64GB with option to expand with a MicroSD card.

I wouldn’t talk about the technical aspects of this phones, because I’m not good at it so I would refer you to some experts here, and here.

Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party

Okay, okay… with these new technology specified and for my needs, I think F7 would fit the bill.

During the party....

I’ve been to number of smartphone launch, and I would say that they are all the same. However, I noticed something about the OPPO F7 launch.

Why only present all models that are obviously blessed with perfectly-matched genes ? Where are the others?

As I understand, Filipino market is a very diverse like "halo-halo". I don’t see diversity here.

Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party

The presentation slides states “Engage with the Filipino Youth” however does engaging with these youth means only to enjoy capturing perfect selfie photos and videos, and feed that gaming spirit? How about a smartphone that could help our youth to maximize their many potentials. Or maybe a smartphone that could help our new breeds to make a difference to help the community, etc. and to be truly capture that real self – not only through vivid and flawlessly manipulated photos.

In my opinion, I think they should also add in discussion about how this new smartphone could help our users to be more organized, secure their data, and also be self-aware of what is actually happening around us.

Review: OPPO F7 Launch Party
How can this promising visual artist incorporate OPPO F7 to his craft?

All new breeds of smartphone brands offers the same promise. I’m curious what OPPO F7 makes a difference.

Would I be using OPPO F7?

Why not. When I have the need, maybe I will.
