Each time that we visit the nearest Woolworths shop, this item is always on our list (costs AUD$2.99 each). No wonder that we have got lots of empty salsa glass jars in our kitchen storage.
Although we can send these empty jars back to the recycling bins or donating them to the nearest op-shops (which they turn selling them for AUD$0.50 each), I decided to keep every glass jar we have and wait for that awesome idea to pop.
Although we can send these empty jars back to the recycling bins or donating them to the nearest op-shops (which they turn selling them for AUD$0.50 each), I decided to keep every glass jar we have and wait for that awesome idea to pop.
And that idea just comes in when my succulents need more room to grow. I thought of using my empty salsa jars, coz nothing more awesome than creating something new without spending much, especially for a new succulent vase.
I got this brilliant idea of using spray paint that I got recently from Bunnings. I chose the matte gold shade because the gold color makes everything looks expensive. I only painted the outside side and not the inside coz I don’t want the paint particles mixing with the potty soil later on. Use a mask coz the scent of the spray paint will make you dizzy or gets you high. Then let it for the next hour or more until the paint dries.
Now that your jars are dry, time to put some new potty soil in it for the new succulents.
My succulents thrived so much recently (maybe they love the humidity inside my bathroom) and they started to sprout new baby succulents, so I need to transfer the mother succulents into these new golden jars. The baby succulents will stay at its original place coz it does not need more room yet.
And voila!
Isn’t they look gorgeous?!
If you don’t have spray paint, you can use your old nail polishes, or acrylic paint and paint your creativeness designing your empty jars.
Succulents are always good at any home, and this idea would be nice as a perfect gift for your friends or workmates.
So, start saving your empty glass jars and don’t throw them away! Unleash your creative side and do upcycling. Trust me, it will give you good karma and become part of saving our environment (*wink).
You have the knack for turning something ordinary into a work of art. Good job!!! I've also gotten into gardening during the quarantine but I used water bottles.
