And hope all of you are doing great. We like to see the brighter side of all that is happening nowadays.
I know you all enjoyed my DIY and upcycling projects recently, and I promised that I will keep you updated.
Do you remember that gorgeous blue ruffled dress?
Good, coz in this blog I’ll share with you what happened to the other half of that old duvet.
I mean seriously, I am getting crazy upcycling old duvet covers! The fabrics are so versatile to work on, their prints are fun and lively, and best of all – I got these old duvets for FREE.
Just like I always say, I’m not a professional fashion designer, and only knows the basic stitching, and I love wasting my time on creating things that others couldn’t be bothered. I have a lot of time in my hands, what can I say?!
Sayonara old duvet!
I am having fun playing with this fabric. It is quite big enough for a long dress and all I could do is have more patience (and hope it will turn out great!).
Do you love pink? Coz I do!
But I’m not sure if I’m worn a dress in bright pink like this, except for this baby pink dress.
That’s why I am pretty excited about crafting this one because it will be a milestone dress for me.
I love being indoors, and sometimes I thought I’m the modern version of those early Victorian ladies spending their time playing their needles, except I do it while watching Netflix keep me company. While sewing this pink dress, I was watching Selling Sunsets, and this show gives me so much feels.
The lifestyle, big houses, more champagne, oh those glamorous fashion, including the heated dramas are so good, gives me a lot of inspiration for my designing hobbies. And I learned a lot about the real estate business. After all, I’m in Australia – where real estate industry bubbles are no joke.
Safe to say that it took me 4days to finish my dress. And that means I finished the whole episodes of Selling Sunsets, which I may say that I am really looking forward to Season 4.
Have you watched that show? If yes, who is your favorite fashionable villain?
Christine Quinn is such a bitch, but I cannot deny the fact of how she is rocking the whole season. And I think without her (and her glamorous outfits) the show would be just another Netflix show.
The final look!

The Belle of Churchill |
As expected, working on ruffles takes a lot of time but I’m not complaining especially when I finally finished the whole look.
To celebrate this little success, I decided to wear it to visit our Australian Grandma coz she’s been raving her newly owed pairs of chicken. She lives in Churchill, a 40-min drive from Warragul.
Welcome to the Australian country lifestyle!
Look how gorgeous their feathers?! They are so fluffy and look glamorous, IMHO.
They are called Bantam chicken, and this specific breed is called Silkies.
These unique chickens, originally from China, are friendly and docile and thus great for family flocks.
Silkies are the only bantam chickens for sale that cannot fly! However, the ladies are egg-ceptional setters and lay tiny creamy tinted eggs. Available white, black, red buff, partridge, cuckoo, and a bluish lavender. Bantam Silkie hens weigh 907g, Roosters: 1020g.
They are perfect pets because they don’t fly and very friendly to humans. I love staring at them and admire their fluffiness, and their gorgeous hair. So much glam!
They lay eggs but it is quite small, equivalent of half of the regular-sized chicken egg. And the taste really nice too.
Every visit to Grandma’s comes with an extremely excited baby. Pippy loves my special body massage for her, and she is totally obsessed. She used to hang around more with Dada, but ever since that first body massage experience, she never looked back hahaha.
I guess I have spoiled her a lot! Grandma said Pippy is demanding her to do the same. Crazy little girl!
And I think she loves me more. Or rather she wants my massage, that’s it.
What do you think of this dress? Let me know your thoughts below!

ReplyDeleteHehehe at start ganun talaga! I still make mistakes and lead to frustrations, ginagawa ko hinahayaan ko muna, then babalikan ko kapag nasa good mood na ulet.
DeleteNow that’s hot pink!!! Hahaha i love how it turned out. You wouldn’t know that it was a duvet before. I’m into a lot of DIY lately but it’s really hard. It takes a lot of time and it’s frustrating whenever i make mistakes. Huhu
ReplyDeleteThank you Christian!
