Vera Falls is one of the best attractions we’ve visited in Albay.
Located in a secluded nook at the southern base of Mt. Malinao is Vera Falls: a paradise of forest and clear cascading water, a little over an hour away from Legazpi. It is a natural treasure to behold and an accessible ecotourism site with a big reward. An exotic 1,200m (1,000 yards) foot trail through lush vegetation awaits trekkers before arriving at the crystal blue lagoon covered under a forest canopy. The sound of the cascading water and native birds heightens the sense of tropical paradise.
One of the off-the-beaten-path destinations you should visit, Vera Falls is located in Malinao Albay.
Although some locals visited using public transport, we recommend that you drive to this place with your own vehicle (for your own convenience)
There is no (official) entrance fee to enter this place, however, a local caretaker charges visitor Php10.00 to 20.00 entrance fee including the parking fee which is very minimal and affordable.
If you will be driving with your own vehicle, it will be easier for you to reach this place. With the help of Google Maps, we reached the place in no time. There is a decent mobile reception so don’t worry if you need to contact someone. However, for your own security, avoid doing crazy things and try not to cause any disturbance to nature and the nearby community living in the area.
We recommend that you bring your own food for an amazing picnic experience, and make sure to bring your food waste when you leave. Never leave any kind of waste in this area as a sign of respect and courtesy to the local people and to nature.
There are available cottages and changing rooms including a makeshift shower room for your convenience.
Don’t miss the fresh local coconut juice available in the parking area! For a minimal amount, coconut juice is a perfect solution for your thirst!
