How to Cure Gingivitis | Tips for a Healthy Dental Care
A beautiful smile can make a big difference in one’s overall appearance and self-confidence BUT to achieve that, you need to maintain a good oral hygiene routine. Healthy teeth enable you to interact with confidence, taste, chew, and swallow scrumptious as well as healthy foods. If you adopt proper oral hygiene habits like brushing and flossing, you have a decent chance of maintaining your dental health for the rest of your life.

Here are the 8 smart lifestyle choices to achieve healthy oral hygiene.

How to Cure Gingivitis | Tips for a Healthy Dental Care

Brush Twice a Day
The most fundamental and crucial part of keeping proper oral hygiene is brushing your teeth twice a day, once in the morning and once before night. Plaque and germs that might lead to gum disease and tooth decay are eliminated.

• Aside from brushing two times a day, I sometimes do my 3rd brushing session especially when I’m at home and ate lots of sweets. It is always nice to have clean teeth and mouth after bingeing on sweets.

Use A Power Toothbrush
An electric toothbrush can clean your teeth more thoroughly than a manual one. It contains a motor that rotates or oscillates the brush head to remove bacteria and plaque.

• I am using the Oral-B Braun electric toothbrush, and I swear that I would never go back in using the normal toothbrush. Any electric toothbrush is quite steep on your budget; however, it is one of the best investments you can have for yourself. You only buy the toothbrush body once, and just replace the toothbrush head periodically.

Replace Brush Head Often
Over time, the brush head’s bristles deteriorate, making it less effective at cleaning your teeth. Replace the brush head monthly to preserve its efficacy. Don’t forget to charge your electric toothbrush often.

• I often bought toothbrush heads in bulk at our local Costco. It is cheaper than buying in retail at Woolworths.

Incorporate Flossing
Flossing is a crucial component of dental hygiene because it removes plaque and bacteria that brushing can’t reach. To maintain proper oral health, flossing is essential every day and recommended after every meal.

• My dentist recommended using Piksters Interdental Brush which I swear works very much. I am using Size 3 Yellow which suits perfectly for my gums.

Massage Your Gums
Massaging your gums with a water flosser or electric toothbrush can improve blood flow to the gums and strengthen them, leading to healthier teeth. Power toothbrushes, that are equipped with various switch modes have a massage mode specifically designed for this purpose. This can relieve gums from various pains, infections, and aches.

Restrict Frequent Snacking
Eating sugary or starchy foods throughout the day can lead to plaque buildup and tooth decay. To maintain good oral hygiene, it’s best to limit snacking and stick to a healthy diet.

• I stay away from eating too many sweets, and I always make sure to brush my teeth immediately if I do.

I highly recommend Curasept Oral Rinse. I’ve been using it since I moved here to Australia in 2019.

Water Flossing
It’s important to water floss after every meal or beverage to remove any food particles or bacteria left in the mouth. This can prevent bacteria formation, plaque buildup, and tooth decay.

• My dentist recommended of using Curasept Mouth Rinse and I am very grateful because it helps me to sure my gingivitis issues, plus frequent flossing helps!

Visit Your Dentist
Regular dental check-ups are essential for maintaining good oral hygiene. Your dentist can identify any potential issues and provide appropriate treatment to prevent them from becoming bigger problems.

• Many dentists will recommend having a regular professional tooth cleaning at least every 6 months, however, I choose to visit my dentist quarterly. My dental Specialist – Ben of Warragul Dental Care is my go-to specialist. He helps to cure my gingivitis and keep my teeth and gums healthy and always on track. It is a little luxury I have now, and it is all worth it.

In conclusion, maintaining a good oral hygiene routine is essential for achieving a beautiful smile. By following these tips, you can ensure that your teeth are healthy, white, and sparkling. Don’t forget to brush, floss, and visit your dentist regularly. With the right dental care routine, you can have a beautiful smile that lasts a lifetime.
