Australia is a diverse and multicultural country that offers a rich variety of artistic and cultural experiences. Visiting galleries and museums is one of the best ways to learn about the local culture and contemporary arts of Australia. Galleries and museums showcase the works of Australian artists, both indigenous and non-indigenous, as well as international artists who have influenced or been influenced by Australian culture. By visiting galleries and museums, you can appreciate the beauty, creativity, and diversity of Australian arts, as well as gain insights into the history, values, and identity of Australia
It can also inspire you to explore your own artistic potential and express yourself in new ways.

The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia is an art gallery that showcases the Australian part of the National Gallery of Victoria's collection. It is located at Federation Square in Melbourne, Victoria, and it is the world's first major gallery dedicated exclusively to Australian art. The gallery presents Indigenous and non-Indigenous art from the colonial period to the present day, featuring works in various media such as paintings, sculptures, prints, photography, fashion, textiles and jewellery. The gallery was opened in 2002 and named after Sir Ian Potter, a prominent Australian businessman and philanthropist who supported the arts.

A couple of months ago, my friend and I visited the gallery and savoured our minds with the recent MELBOURNE NOW – hosting more than 200 Victorian artists and designers with their work displayed at The Ian Potter Centre: NGV Australia in Fed Square.

Like the 2013 event, Melbourne Now serves as a bold survey of Victoria’s current cultural landscape and those who are shaping it. That work spans fashion, jewellery, painting, sculpture, architecture, ceramics, video, virtual reality, performance, photography, printmaking, publishing, graphic design and more.

Hundreds of works are being displayed, with 60 world premieres, commissioned especially by the NGV. Many artists and designers debuted their exhibitions at the NGV.

The exhibition inspired us to explore our own stories and express our thoughts through art. Being engaged in advocating sustainable fashion and creative arts is a wonderful experience and I am personally truly committed to continuing my newfound passion, and hopefully inspiring our readerships to find theirs as well.
