Enjoys the daffodil carpet in Tochigi
When: March 20 (Thursday / holiday) ~ April 6 (Sunday)
At the Kanuma City Hanaki Center in Tochigi Prefecture, daffodils bloom all over the mountain in spring, and the slopes of the "Daffodil and Flower Peach Hill" are dyed golden at once! This vantage point is located at the halfway point where Mt. Otai is connected to the northwest and Mt. Tsukuba to the southeast and is also a special place where you can overlook the two sacred peaks. The 23 kinds of yellow carpets spread all over the mountain have become an Instagrammable spot, and this hosts a daffodil fair from March 20 to April.
Originally, this was a dark cedar mountain, but two years ago, the cedars were cut down, and volunteers worked hard to plant 110,000 bulbs, creating a bright and spectacular scenery. Daffodils, which add a splendid color to the landscape of early spring, are autumn-planted bulbous plants native to the Mediterranean coast. Typical types include trumpet daffodils, double-flowered daffodils, and bunch-blooming daffodils, and the flower colors are very diverse, such as white, yellow, orange, and pink.
This year, the art project exhibition "Spring Thunder" will be held at the same time on this hill, and you can also enjoy Japanese sweets made of daffodils for a limited time. The cute early spring "fairies" swaying in the wind will welcome you and show you a competition with the peaches and cherry blossoms.
