CREATE Philippines the 1st international creative industry trade event

CREATE Philippines the 1st international creative industry trade event

I never expected that my passion for creative industry will flourished over the years. Back in college, I always dreamed of being in the corporate world and live a comfortable life. However, as years have passed my views have changed and now am enjoying these two worlds! I decided to pursue my passion in creative (aside from content creations, I also do arts and crafts usually for my personal use which saves me a lot!).

I’ve also grown my passion in advocating and promoting creative talents, especially the locals located in the remote places, to showcase their passion and let the whole world know how dramatically talented they are.

CREATE Philippines Launch Party
CITEM Deputy Executive Director Maria Lourdes Mediran, DTI Usec. Nora Terrado, together with CREATE Philippines’ industry partners: BBDO Guerrero Chairman David Guerrero, Design Center of the Philippines Executive Director Rhea Matute, Creative Economy Council of the Philippines Founder Paolo Mercado, CITEM Department Manager  Arturo Dimaano, CREATE Philippines Project Manager Leah Ocampo, Endeavor Philippines Managing Director Manny Ayala, ACPI President Miguel Del Rosario, and Brand Guerilla PH CEO Nato Agbayani shares a toast at the launching of the event.

Filipinos are known to be one of the most talented race in the world, and excels in almost all the industry. Our country, the Philippines is among the countries in Asia Pacific that are rich not only for natural resources but also rich in creative talents.

2017 is said to be the year for most creative talents – in music, arts, content and digital – and this multi-billion industry is so huge that there is no sign of stopping.

That’s why the DTI (Department of Trade and Industry) through the Center for International Trade Expositions and Missions (CITEM), is set to take advantage of this multi-billion industry through CREATE Philippines, the country’s first international creative industry trade event.

This event will showcase the different sectors of the country’s creative industry in a bid to advance the Filipinos creativity as one of the key drivers for economic growth.

CREATE Philippines Launch Party
“As a country, we want to take part in making crestivity a key component for economic prosperity by intensively advocating and promoting its role in the future of the ASEAN economic community.” Ms. Nora K. Terrado, Undersercretary for Trade and Investments Promotion Group (TIPG), and Chairman of ASEAN Committee on Business and Investments Promotion (CBIP) under the ASEAN National Organizing Council (NOC).

CREATE Philippines will feature the best and brightest in the Philippines’ creative scene and will serve as a developmental platform where all artists, professionals, content creators, and developers can showcase their work and vie for business opportunities.

As a content creator myself, this is an exciting opportunity for the people in my industry as we will have a huge opportunity to enhance our creative skills and this platform will open doors for some more positive opportunities both locally and international.

CREATE Philippines Launch Party
This trade event will run together with this year’s 66th Edition of Manila FAME, the country’s premier lifestyle and design event this coming October 20-22, 2017 at the Philippine Trade and Training Center and HallONE, Pasay City Philippines.

CREATE Philippines will serve as an idea hub, pitching events, master class venue, and trade fair, highlighting four (4) high-potential creative sectors: advertising content and production, digital games and apps, film and animation, and performing arts.

CREATE Philippines 2017
Students, young professionals and veterans of the creative industry will have an opportunity to gather around and present their best and brightest works!

CREATE Philippines will also highlight four specific sectors of the creative industry.

A. The Creative Hub and Talks (CHAT) – With the theme “Developing an International Market for Filipino Creative Content and Creative Services,” CHAT is an information and knowledge-sharing venue where creative professionals and practitioners can exchange ideas, update knowledge and explore collaborations. This will also serve as a platform for industry leaders & influencers to present their respective vision & initiatives towards a globally competitive Philippine and ASEAN Creative Economy.

B. ARTALIVE – A showcase of the Philippines’ creative heritage featuring;
(1) The pre-conquest artistic expressions and crafting traditions
(2) The contemporary products of creativity as featured in Manila FAME, and
(3) The modern global influences in the fields of design, visual communication, music, animation and film.

ArtAlive will include three touchpoints:

CREATION  STATION – Live demonstrations of traditional arts, textile and basketry weaving, instrument making and other forms of creative expressions that aim to give visitors and buyers a glimpse of the rich heritage of the “Archipelago of Creatives” and the work that is put into each Philippine hand-crafted product.

ART INSTALLATIONS – Exceptional work by students, young artists, and industry experts will punctuate the various areas within the exhibition ground, adding creative energy to the whole CREATE Philippines.

INTERACTIVE PODS AND GAME STATIONS – Listen, learn and play. Show visitors will get the opportunity to interact with newly developed games and apps, watch animations, and/or listen to music through this interactive exhibit of anything and everything that is techie and creative.

C. MUSIC FEST – With music as one of the Philippines’ strongest creative assets, CREATE Philippines looks to promote music as a significant contributor to the creative economy. During the three-day event, pocket performances featuring homegrown independent and mainstream artists will showcase yet another dimension of Filipino creativity. This will serve as a prelude to an industry-led participation in international music festivals carrying the banner of CREATE Philippines as a country-branded promotion of the local music industry.

D. CREATOR360 – An event that will showcase ground-breaking and socially-relevant creative content and innovations from the industry, that celebrates creativity and innovation in the age of information and digital connectivity. The event puts the spotlights on the new generation of creative, inventors, entrepreneurs, and business leaders who are poised to make their mark on the industry.
Together with CREATE Philippines, CITEM also partnered with creative content companies Globaltronics,  Brand Guerilla PH, and Synergy 88 to re-launch and organize the National Digital Arts Awards (NDAA) 2017 with #changeisherenow as the awards show’s theme.
Winners of this prestigious competition could someday become one of the country’s greatest digital artists! The grand prize of this competition is up to Php1Million.
