Time flies so fast, we just celebrated two New Years’ and Valentine’s Day a few days ago and yet it seems that celebration isn’t over (I feel like 2019 will give us more reason to celebrate). And February – the love month isn’t over yet – I still see many pairs of lovebirds around the city, all smiling and sweet which is totally awesome – and I should thank this breezy cold February weather for this romantic atmosphere.
After this love month, summer is coming and ready to welcome our vibe with those glaring sun, lovely summer air, and did I mention a good chill time in the beach while sipping pinacolada?
This 2019 Althea Korea is celebrating its 4th year in beauty journey and I am so glad that day when I made a decision to download their beauty e-store app. A trip to a beauty store is recently became a luxury for me (due to lack of time, because in my experience visiting a beauty store is a destination – I need time to enjoy it, before swiping my card), due to many prioritize in my lifestyle. It was a heaven sent for me when I started using their beauty shopping app, choose my skincare and beauty products in few minutes and paying them all online and fuzz-free, and arrived my purchases after 8-days of waiting!
Yup, I applaud their courier / logistic partner for delivering my Althea Korea pink box very efficiently, and no scratches! My Barbie pink package has gained so much attention at work, that our reception-lady and our guards knows to whom these boxes are (sometime I let them join me to open these boxes, and feasting the items – a good way to encourage the ladies to buy as well – it works!).
So before summer hits, it is also time to upgrade our look. I mean, our fall makeup collection needs to sleep for few months and time to place new colors suitable for the season. When Althea Korea generously sent me their makeup collection debut, I would say OMG these babies will stay longer to my vanity table. I can’t remember the time I purchased a full makeup set, and having them brought another level of excitement.
So before you hit the Althea Korea app and website to purchase these items, I took a liberty to try and tested them and gladly sharing you my opinions.
BCL x ALTHEA Eye Palette Sunrise & Moonrise (15g)
This eye palette is the star of this collection. Althea Korea is now raising their bar by launching a collection and collaborating with Asian Influencers. In this collection, Althea Korea collaborated with Indonesian Pop Singer and Actress Singer Bunga Citra Lestari aka BCL to launch their debut Eye Palette Sunrise & Moonrise. I guess I have to start learning Bahasa so I could truly understand the wordings of her music, but I love every beat of it.
Though there wasn’t any much detailed information about this collaboration, the colors from the palette perfectly symbolizes that dreamy summer vacation in Bali, Indonesia admiring the gorgeous sunrise and always looking forward for the magnificent moonrise during night time.
The palette is a practical choice to bring this summer that carrying colors both for daytime and nighttime look. This palette have both matte, shimmer, and glitter pigments that are matchy-matchy depends on your mood look. They are easy to blend, but I have to admit that I have a little challenge in using the No.6 color to achieve that sunset look (you can check my video below about it).
I love the shimmer pigments No. 03 (look like a rose gold) and No. 04 (fool’s gold) for my lids, which I could use individually with no fuss. No. 01 and No. 07 is good as highlighter for my cheeks and a little for my nose and tip of my lips for an illusion of full lips. The colors of No. 05 and No. 08, I tried them for my eyebrows and it was surprisingly looks amazing!
The No. 06 shade can be used as a little blush for your cheeks.
However, I noticed that that each palette container are not properly attached, few of them are slightly not aligned, which signals me that it wasn’t properly glued hence it will easily remove from its main palette case.
The main black case per se can easily be open, and can closes firmly like there’s a magnet attached inside of it, which is good.

Rating: 4.5-stars, even though it has a few flaws.
Althea Flawless Creamy Concealer (6g)
They also gave me these four Althea Korea Flawless Creamy Concealers; (1) Vanilla, (2) Ginger, (3) Honey, (4) Mocha. Though I noticed that these shades are suitable for most people with fair completion, even though they have a Mocha shade but still quite lighter to my rich tan complexion – it still manageable to blend with my current foundation. I guess with the other lighter shades, I have to mixed it as well with others or give it to a lovely friend.
This concealer is doing a good job in hiding my little blemishes without the feeling of heaviness. It is unscented, and easy to wash-off my make-up remover after I serves its purpose.
Cost: Php200.00 each (6grams)
Ratings: 4-stars, they need to make darker shades for tan beauties!
Althea Spotlight Eye Glitter (4.5ml)
If you feel that the glitter from BCL palette is not enough, then you can add more fabulous glitter using this Spotlight Eye Glitter in Gold Light, Pink Light. It has a small brush applicator that could help you to apply delicately to your eyelids, and looks fabulous when you use them alone sans eyeshadows.
I sometimes use them as my highlights too! It is not feeling sticky when applied and feels lightweight as well. It is not intimidating to use them both for daytime and looks fabulous for nighttime.

Althea Korea Watercolor Cream Tint
Oh did I mentioned previously my love for lipstick or lip color especially those in red shades?! I was so thrilled unboxing these 4 red beauties – the creamy lip tint that isn’t not your ordinary lip tints. First, it is very easy to apply to my lips, and just a hint of it gives me a good color. Second, it feels so lightweight that you will not feel wearing anything.
They are easy to blend that I only put some product on my lower lips, and blend it throughout my lips and feels absolutely gorgeous. Though it takes few minutes to let it dry (for those who have no patience, this lip tint is not for you) waiting is totally worth it.
This marks was the result after I let it stay on my skin for 5-mins, wiped it using wet wipes. As you can see, it leaves almost perfect marks, which I guess would be more prominent if I let it stay for longer. This means that the staying power is quite high, which is awesome for those who are quite lazy to reapply lipstick during the busy day.
I also tried using these lip tints as my blush for my cheeks and it works, blends well and gives me that glowing natural pinkish look. This is perfect liptint for those minimalist travelers – this lip tint can give you a whole new glowing look using this lip tint alone!
Isn’t that fabulous and genius?

Althea Skin Relief Spot Film Gel (15ml)
Althea Korea have managed to give us a solution by creating the Spot Film Gel that would help our beauty dilemma. This creamy transparent solution temporary hide of annoying flaws, and when it dries properly will be ready to apply our foundation plus concealers.
Unfortunately, this does not serve purpose on me. I tried to apply a hint to hide my blemish, thinking that when it dries up, I could easily topped it with concealer and foundation. Turns out, it give me a flakey-look-like-you-are-an-ageing-slug-with-peeling-skin kind of look and it looks ugly.
Horrifying, I should say.
The idea of using this spot film to acne (to hide it) before applying makeup is BS.
Nevertheless, using this spot film for before bedtime to treat acne is much appropriate. It has a tea tree oil which helps to treat acne spots. However, I seldom gain acne recently due to good skincare I am using and diligently cleansing my face, even I am too tired to do it after the tiring day.
Costs: Php240.00
Ratings: 1-star – for marketing as an acne cream to apply pre-makeup.
Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser (150ml)
After wearing and testing this make-up collection and taking my images for blog content, it’s time to remove them all. I have used the new Althea Pore Purifying Serum Cleanser to remove all my makeup while making my skin pore cleanse too. You can watch my video below and see how it thoroughly removed my makeup!
The instruction said to damp first your face and apply a small amount, then massage it to your face. My way is I use a cotton ball and pour a small amount to it, then swipe to my face, massage it thoroughly and if there’s no water available, then use a tissue paper or wet wipes to cleanse your face thoroughly.
It works like cleansing oil, but this pore serum is much lightweight solution.
Costs: Php430.00 for 150ml
Rating: 4-stars - I just don’t like the container, should have that spritz-type head for easier usage. This currently cap might have tendency to spill everywhere when not closed properly.

It's because my MIL send me lipsticks and makeup sets once a year and I use them on my kids when they join competitions and school programs. I love lip tints because they last long and are usually kiss proof, what's the staying power like with these? Do they last even after eating greasy food?
With lip tints, yeah it last quite enough depends on how greasy foods you eat? If you eat letchon then don't expect it will last long :D
