1. Light to Night Festival 2018: Colour Sensations

Singapore Arts Week 2018
Light to Night Festival is an annual urban art event that celebrates the stunning Civic District of Singapore. Over two weeks (19–28 Jan 2018), this second edition explores the sensation of colour through the visual, literary and performing art forms, and transforms major cultural institutions and parks into spectacular works of art.

The Padang will turn into a sprawling picnic ground complete with a Festival Food Street. Sit back and enjoy a multimedia projection show unfolding across the façade of National Gallery Singapore.

2. Aliwal Urban Art Festival

Aliwal Urban Art Festival is an annual celebration Singapore cool. Get down to a carefully-curated selection of art inspired by global street culture – from graffiti to graphic art, rock to afro-beat, skateboarding to breakdancing. Organised by Aliwal Arts Centre, the festival is located in Kampong Glam, a district hailed as 'one of Singapore's coolest neighborhoods' by the international media due to its rich history and culture, mixed with on-trend shops and cafes.

3. Art After Dark

Gillman Barracks’ flagship edition of the night time open house event, Art After Dark, returns this 26 January 2018! Look forward to an evening of stimulating contemporary art, live music, and F&B pop-ups with the showcase of new exhibitions and exciting programmes as galleries, the NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore and the rest of the precinct open their doors from 7pm till late in Singapore’s very own visual arts cluster.

This edition’s highlights include DISINI, the inaugural visual arts festival happening in Gillman Barracks, Transaction of Hollows, a performance by artist Melati Suryodarmo, and the exhibition, SEA STATE 9: Proclamation, featuring new works from Charles Lim’s acclaimed SEA STATE project.

4. Front Lawn Movie Screening at SAM

Singapore Arts Week 2018
Sit back and relax at the Singapore Art Museum as we bring back the old-school with an outdoor movie screening! Taking place at the SAM front lawn, enjoy an eclectic movie showcase and an accompanying selection of delectable snacks. Bring along your picnic mats, and enjoy a star-lit evening with friends and family. The outdoor movie screening is an all-weather event.

5. ARTWALK Little India

Singapore Arts Week 2018

Long-lost tales found in and around Little India are resurrected through murals, public art installations and free performances for the fourth edition of ARTWALK Little India, aptly themed Urban Mythology.

Presented by LASALLE College of the Arts and Singapore Tourism Board with support of Little India Shopkeepers and Heritage Association (LISHA), this year’s edition features a Singapore-based line up of artists such as ZERO, Izzad Radzali Shah and SOBANDWINE, and performers such as Kamini Ramachandran, to explore, narrate, celebrate and relive its stories.

Look out for our puppetry programme, where visitors will have a hand at making puppets that are inspired by the murals around Little India, as well as a film screening by acclaimed filmmaker, K. Rajagopal's trilogy, The Day I Lost My Shadow.

6. Discover Art at Marina Bay

Discover Art is an easy way to browse different artworks. The aim is to make art easily accessible to a wide audience by taking away the typical artsy barriers that one might feel when visiting art exhibitions and events. You can discover art from different artists and galleries covering different genres, like contemporary, pop and abstract. Want more info on a certain art piece? 7. Art Market at SAM

8. Taman Jurong Art Trail (Self-guided)

Taman Jurong Art TraiTaman Jurong Art Trail was developed to share the visual art vibrancy of Taman Jurong and to showcase the visual art projects under Our Gallery At Taman Jurong organised by the Taman Jurong Community Arts & Culture Club (TJCACC), in partnership with the National Arts Council (NAC), and as part of the NAC’s Arts and Culture Nodes initiative.

The visual art projects involved Taman Jurong residents in the art-making process with an emphasis on process-based content and outcomes, fulfilling the objectives to deepen and sustain arts engagement through quality visual art projects in the community.

This self-guided Art Trail will introduce visitors to artworks created or co-created by artists and residents, which are on display across Taman Jurong neighbourhood. Download or pick up a copy of the Our Gallery At Taman Jurong Art Trail map online or Taman Jurong Community Club, and explore all 14 works anytime of the year.  (Self-guided)

9. Waterloo Street Crawl

Tucked away in Singapore’s downtown district, Waterloo Street is where traditional charm meets modern drive, where decades of human stories lie forgotten. With Waterloo Street Crawl (WSC), Practice Tuckshop invites you to wander off the beaten path and unearth the hidden secrets of Waterloo’s eclectic inhabitants.

Waterloo Street Crawl is an exciting walking trail along key locations in Waterloo Street. Download the app to search for stories scattered across the street and immerse yourself in Waterloo’s sights, sounds and smells. Snap pictures to document your journey. Finish the trail at Practice Tuckshop and be part of the Waterloo Street Mural, an interactive art installation in Practice Tuckshop, painted by Singaporean artist Low Jia Han and TTP’s very own Teh Xiang Her.
