Althea Bare Essentials Skincare Review

Althea Bare Essentials Skincare Review

Recently, I’ve spend my staycation at this posh hotel for the weekend, to regain my energy and also to rejuvenate. I was packaging my beauty essentials for the weekend, however bringing those all would be a tedious work, so I decided to bring my newest favorite of skincare that I’ve been using for more than a month now.

As much as possible, I don’t like caring all of my skincare essentials during my trips because it gives me too much burden. But I am so glad that I found the newest skincare line that are perfect substitute to my 10-step Korean style beauty routine.

Althea’s newest and first ever skincare line called Bare Essentials helps to me achieve the fresh and healthy skin I always love. This collection is composed of only 3-steps: cleansing, toning, and moisturizing – the three basic important to sum up the 10-step Korean beauty routine.

Allow me to share you my review then!

Step 1 – Althea Bare Essential – The Contour Cleanser 150gram at Php300.00

Packed with soothing ice plant and detoxifying lemon myrtle extracts, this cleanser is densely filled with micro capsules that bursts upon contact with water to gently cleanse, exfoliate, and detoxify skin. The Contour Cleanser helps to promote blood circulation, and reduces bloating and swelling for a defined, enviably slim face shape.

What I love about this cleanser is that magnificent menthol feeling that gives me while I let it stay for a minute or two. I could feel how it deeply cleansed my skin and even helps to minimize my large pores, and helps to reduce oil. The scent is also very relaxing and if you have no control, trust me you might feel quite sleepy after (lol) but don’t allow it to over stay on your face more than 2-minutes because it has an oohh-so-good exfoliating effect that might not good for your skin.

I prefer to since it with lukewarm water for a more relaxing feeling.

After patting my face with clean towel, am now ready for the Step 2!

Step 2 – Althea Bare Essentials – The Primer Water, 200ml at Php550.00

Both a hydrating toner and a primer in one, the Primer water contains patented dewdrop technology (called the macro fluidic dispersion technology) that gently fills the gaps between pores and allows hydration to penetrate deep within the layers of the skin. Made with snow lotus extracts, this skincare heavy hitter has an incredibly smooth and silky texture that enhances the skin’s natural glow, leaving you with the perfect canvas.

It’s quite hard to explain how much I like this Althea BE Primer Water – I’ve noticed that it gives me that nourished and well plump skin after I applied it. I don’t need a cotton to apply it – a few drops in my palm and gently apply it on my face while gently tapping it. It absorbs easily in a few minutes, giving that supple feeling. The scent is also very nice and mild, not irritating to smell!

And the last step…

Step 3 – Althea Bare Essential – The Fixer Cream, 50grams at Php640.00

This non-oily, quick absorbing formula harnesses the power of trehalose, an ingredient found in the cactus plant that prevents its moisture loss, to provide the skin with 24-hour hydration. This ultra-nourishing wonder cream is also rich in antioxidants derived from camellia sinensis (green tea) sed oil, and helps to promote collagen regeneration using baobab tree extracts.

Althea Bare Essential – The Fixer Cream

Unlike other creams, this fixer cream absorbs easily plus it isn’t sticky nor heavy to my face. I also love its mild but luxurious scent that is also relaxing perfect for my bedtime pampering.

I used this Bare Essentials daily – the contour cleanser once a day, the primer water twice in a day both during daytime and night time, same with the fixer cream. They all give me that satisfying feeling, fresh and nourished skin that I always love.

Bare Essentials Packaging

Since 2017, I’ve noticed the sudden change of the packaging design then on most skincare brands. Gone are those very intricate designs, and welcome for the minimalist look! Not only has it cost lower, having a minimalist look also shows being eco-friendly.

Bare Essentials packaging have that natural semi-transparent packaging that reflects beauty and essence of the nature. It harmonized with elegantly soft texture, including the labels simplicity, and emphasizes the high quality of the product.

Apparently, consumers see minimalist packaging as more trustworthy, and not compromising the contents formula and effectiveness.

Less is Beauty

The minimalism trend is on fire that this Althea Bare Essential skincare line also follows the trend. Althea Korea is now into a revolution of simplicity with top-notched result, and saying goodbye for that complicated 10-steps Korean skincare routine. Our choice of beauty products reflects our personality, so making things simple and uncomplicated makes a more relaxing lifestyle.

No need to layer on different serums every morning, and another sets of creams at night – nowadays, having a product that gives a multiple benefits in a single bottle is the new trend.

I know that the 10-KOrean skin routine might not suitable to all, plus the costs that it takes. With this Bare Essentials Collection, this is perfect for most ladies and men on-the-go.

  13. I have been looking for better skin care products that actually work. I don't want to say that I do not trust overly marketed products that are widely available like Neutrogena, L'oreal, and Olay to name a few. But I feel these products are cheap and general for all skin types but don't have the proper skin care technology ingredients.
