Maybe some of you know this Manila’s élan socialite Twitter, Nunca Valderma. We’ve been following her since 2013, and we enjoyed her very sarcastic, witty, and elan tweets about our social and current events, politics, celebrity gossips, and anything.
Most of her followers, (almost 4k followers; update circa 2018, it 5K!) called her Mother Nunca, sharing her daily insights about her mundane life in the elite society of Manila, and occasional luxury travels.
We don’t know honestly who is exactly behind that Twitter account, but no doubt she’s an elite influencer, being followed by most of Manila’s socialites. Unfortunately, she stopped sending witty tweets in 2014, but her account is still active. Hence, we can’t help but stalked her tweets again and share her delightful life lessons with her.
On taking chances…
We all have that thought on things (or anything) but sometimes we are hesitant to go for it, maybe because we feel that it isn't for us, we have low self-esteem, or maybe because it doesn't conform to the standards. If we want something and still in our mind, why not we go for it and take a risk? After all, life is created that way - risk and surprises!
being patient, all the time.
Like the old folks say, "Patience is a Virtue". But if you've been waiting for so long, then fuck it and make your own opportunity.
On having the BEST REVENGE.
This is for all your online haters, keyboard warriors, and your chatty neighbors. Never mind these people - be minded on the wrinkles that start growing on you.
On not being too clingy, and chasing that is not meant for you.
In my experience, clingy people are those got low self-esteem, and are not trusty. You are way better than that, so stop being clingy!
On building your own legacy.
Honesty is the best policy. It gives you a good mark - trust me. Many will hate you for being honest, but who cares. It is your legacy, not theirs.
On meeting the right one or opportunity.
So better not waste on that chance and grab that opportunity like grabbing a ball! Don't lose it coz many fellas are ready to steal it from your hands.
On being glamorous even during the worst.
Take all the fabulous armor you've got - this is your chance, and if you lose, well at least you look great.
On making the right decisions.
Once you know who you are including your values, you can easily make decisions and usually never regrets them. A NO is a NO for you, and a YES is an effing YES.
On knowing who’s the fake and purest people.
Ah, happens all the time. In the social media and influencer (duh) community, there are tons of these wildlings, and it might be tough to found the purest soul. Tell me, how many of you have to build a genuine relationship in your online community?
On rules of personal style.
So true. And sometimes we feel jealousy of people who seemed to have genuine style included in their DNAs. These are people who wear baggy old clothes, and still looked posh!
On TEACHING us NEVER to lose HOPE.
Italians are fond of saying "calma" (means be patient). Your fabulous day will come, trust me.
On choosing who to trust.
I guess the Filipinos casual thoughts of #KilayIsLife also applies.
On having the best of your life.
We are blessed to have this one life, and it is up to us to make it worthwhile. Do some charity works, and help others. Live your life that will remember you when you are gone (just make sure it's not a scandal).
On teaching us how to make the right JUDGMENT.
You might have the best IG photos in your squad, but if you act so tactless to other people, then maybe it's time for you to undergo REPUTATION workshops. You can't hide bad breeding with those luxury clothes, and well-filtered photos, not even by your favorite aesthetic surgeon.
On having class regardless of status.
Very well said, Mother Nunca!
.... and more elegance!
Money can't buy elegance and class.
On having to choose your personal style, not based on how expensive your LV is.
No matter how many Hermes bags you have, and how posh your car you drive, you still can't have genuine style. But this can be learned, and have your lifestyle consultant on your speed dial.
On how to spend your me-time in élan way.
One thing I learned from Mother Nunca. Cheers! No more bar-hopping coz we do it in a stylish way. #Adulting
On choosing the best tea salon.
And the only place in the city with NO Wi-Fi freeloaders around.

ReplyDeleteI agree, sad she bid Twitter! I hope she comes back.
DeleteWhat a pity that Mother Nunca no longer tweets. I have not heard of her before reading this post but I have enjoyed her insights into life. Would be great if there were fresh tweets!
ReplyDeleteYeah, this were the times, Twitter are still not a trash. Missing Mother Nunca.
