Review: LAZADA App Shopping Experience

product reviews, Lazada Philippines, Lazada App review, Lazada online shopping review,

Mobile shopping is such a huge revolutionary happened in our generation. I admit that I became addicted to it (for some point) and now learned how to control it.

However, am here to share with you my LAZADA App shopping experience since the famous Singles’ Day is approaching (well thanks to Alibaba for pioneering this mega shopping day!).

I think I’ve been signed up for LAZADA App since 2016, but only a year after I became more active in using it. Though my experience wasn’t all sweet, most of it is quite satisfying.

So here am sharing with you what I shopped since I became active in LAZADA, and I would love to know your experiences as well.

For those of my readers outside Asia, LAZADA is a famous e-commerce shopping site here in Asia that they say could soon be a rival of Amazon. Last year, the famous Chinese e-commerce shopping Alibaba had invested as well in LAZADA, making this shopping site more active and aggressive as well in many promotions, and in delivering good their services to their millions of customers every day.

Here are some of my recent purchases.

Like I’ve said, online shopping isn’t always sweet.

When they once had this huge promotion on grocery supplies, I tried getting some via LAZADA because I have no time to visit the supermarket. The transaction using this app is pretty smooth, no issue and they delivered it to my office the next day. I unpacked them after a week (since I know that they are not perishable and have no leaks in the box), however, I was surprised that I got some of my products EXPIRED.

Yes, I was disappointed. I got them for almost 70% off that time and I realized that maybe this is how they do it. It was inconvenient for me to return them all, so I contemplated using them while vowing not to shop for cleaning and other related supplies from LAZADA.

Why you didn't report or send for a replacement or refund?

During that time, I find it too much of a hassle to send a report then complain, then request for refund. I can't deal with that kind of stress so I decided "to charge them to experience".

Same with these haircare products that I bought from them for a discounted price. Geez, I was so stressed that time! Luckily that diaper bag turns out pretty well.

But there are some parts that LAZADA makes me happy, just like when I both these items below.

Yeah, I both some personal massager via LAZADA and I’m not embarrassed by it. Actually, they have a pretty wide selection of these kinds and at surprising much affordable prices compared to shopping from malls or other individual shops in the area.

I also bought this standee for my printed banner which I’m using during my event. Light-weight and sturdy for an affordable price of less than Php500pesos, approx. US$9, (including the delivery charge).

I also bought this BOYA microphone for my DSLR which really functions well and is priced at Php1,699 (approx.  US$32). Now I don’t worry about having a weird noise while recording my videos.

I also bought my new WD 1TB portable hard drive from LAZADA with a free pouch for only Php2,750 (approx. US$52). This item makes me truly happy coz I am familiar with Western Digital portable hard drives and I know that this one is quite expensive (based on its original price of Php3,963) and I know how good WD is. I have my first WD hard drive for the movie collection which I bought 6-years ago and still working with no issue.

As of this writing, I ordered a gorilla monopod for my DSLR and I can't wait to receive it anytime very soon!

So I realized that online shopping may have ups and downs but yeah it is quite a gamble. And so far I am enjoying my Lazada shopping for items with no expiration period. I never bothered to buy makeup and skincare products from Lazada after my bad experience of buying those hair care and cleaning products.

I also like that LAZADA is efficient in delivering the items I’ve bought right on time. Recently, they even managed to call me prior to the delivery date, just to make sure I am available or someone can receive the package on my behalf.

Soon, more online shoppers can now choose same-day/next-day delivery, or Premium Service, for all items sold and fulfilled by Lazada over standard shipping, which takes at least two days.

Premium Service is also offered on top of the guaranteed next-day delivery for items bought from LazMall – Southeast Asia’s biggest mall featuring over 70 million original products from almost a thousand brands, which will soon include Apple, Samsung, Xiaomi, JBL, Philipps, Mac, L’Oreal, Dove, Olay, Levi’s and many more.

In the upcoming 11.11 online shopping festival – the year’s biggest one-day sale – online shoppers can avail of great deals and enjoy them within the same day or the following day by choosing Premium Service.

Same-day/next-day delivery was earlier made available only to shoppers in select cities in Metro Manila, Laguna, and Cavite. It was recently launched in Metro Cebu and Davao City, two of the country’s largest retail hubs outside of Metro Manila.

By mid-2019, the e-commerce giant targets to offer Premium Service in more parts of the Greater Manila Area: Manila, Mandaluyong, Marikina, San Juan, Pateros, and Caloocan. It also plans to offer same-day/next-day delivery in key cities in Batangas.

Will I still recommend you to use Lazada App?

Yes, of course, and it’s better for you to try it and judge it yourself.

Do they accept returning of items? YES, but it varies on certain conditions (better to check their website for this). I’ve experienced returning one item when I bought this Gorilla tripod for my camera which turns out doesn’t fit mine. I returned it using LBC Delivery based on the instruction slip they gave me along with the package and refunded me money in full.

I used my Paypal money for all my LAZADA purchases which is more convenient and safe for me. More reason not to withdraw all my online earnings!

Have you tried using the LAZADA App? How’s your shopping experience?

  1. This looks very much like Amazon. I use that here in the States. It would be interesting to see if it spreads to here. However, they would have to not send out expired products too much.

    1. That is true. That's why I learned so much from this that I can't be lured with 70 to 80% discount on consumable items. They disposed the nearly expired, or really expired products.

  2. So true never have to go to the store if you don't want too. Shop in your jammies. No driving, parking or walking.

  4. This looks like SUCH a nice app! I really wish we had something like this, because it honestly looks like it makes things so easy. I'm gonna have to point my friends from Asia towards this.

    1. LAZADA is major here in Asia, and there are many goods items, but not all. Its like a gamble.

  5. It's nice to be able to shop for a lot of things online. I really don't like shopping in stores any more. It makes so much more sense to shop online. This sounds like a great retailer!

  8. I also buy in Lazada but the items that I often buy are supplies that do not expire. Tho there was an experience wherein I bough a watch and only go the bracelet.

    1. It is also good that I bought those consumables, at least now I can judge which products I should buy or not.

  10. I usually order from Lazada when I was still working in KL, but here in the PH I'm more careful because like you said filing for a refund can be a hassle. Anyway, it's great that your experience is good overall.

    1. I learned some few lessons on online shopping. So I tend to only shop non-consumables now.

  11. I'm an avid Lazada buyer, haha! I prefer it over other sites because it's simpler to navigate and I don't have problems inputting my address. I always get my orders. But I have had some order problems before. They easily resolve naman pero minsan yung seller na talaga nakakabuset.

  12. Lazada is the biggest e-commerce here in the Philippines but still I am careful when purchasing online because I use my CC all the time. I still check reviews and the seller's legitimacy (I prefer the LazMall) kasi sometimes hindi mo talaga alam kung scam or hindi or like yours, expired na pala. I wish Lazada can improve their services and yung pagcheck ng items before delivering it to customers. True, super hassle and inconvient ng refund service nila. Mas pipiliin mo nalang hayaan kesa mastress pa.

    1. I agree with you. Sometimes online shopping is like a gamble. Back in the days when I shopped for consumables, LAZADA is not yet under Alibaba. Recently, I've noticed a lot of changes na after its acquisition - Alibaba is known to have high standard in online shopping.

Faster delivery na recently, and better customer services compared last year. Lesson learned - never buy consumables online :D
