Op Shop Fashion Winter Edition 2020 | What I’ve been wearing during the cold days

Op Shop Fashion Winter Edition 2020

As we bid goodbye to winter and embracing the spring season here in Australia, the other parts of the world are just waiting for the winter season to come. We spend the winter season indoors and rarely leave the house except for essential reasons such as grocery shopping, healthcare, and a quick stop at Bunnings coz gardening is still essentials (for my own opinion).

And since many shops are still closed, I managed to get my winter clothes from various op shops that I visited during the Autumn season.

For those of you who are newbie here in my blog, op shop is what thrift shops (or Goodwill in the USA), and ukay-ukay for us Filipinos.

What is the best way to embrace a sustainable lifestyle than buying second-hand clothes from charity stores, am I right?!

Here are my 10 Opshop Winter Fashion for this year.

(Some of these pieces are very functional for the rest of the seasons especially during colder days and nights).

Here’s what I learned about winter fashion. There is no excuse to sticking one wearing all black coz apparently, you can wear bold eye-popping colors. I fell in love when I spot this custard-colored jumper from Vinnies Warragul. And for convenience, I also got this belt bag which screams #AsianTitaLook.

Who doesn’t adore Audrey Hepburn?

I’ve obsessed with her charming personality including her humanitarian life after retiring from the movie industry. Her movies are such a good inspiration for fashion, travel, including lifestyle choices. That’s why I insisted on having a picture of her graffiti when we visited the Philippine Embassy in Melbourne.

The jacket, washed jeans, shoes, and wallet are all from an op shop! Vinnies Warragul is such a great place for cool finds.

After weeks of removing the weeds in our Cromie Drive house, it is time to celebrate it with a little fashion since it is a rare occasion that I will be outdoor. I remembered wearing this out when we visited Lardner Transfer Station to dump our green waste.

Did you know that the green-waste fee for this whole trailer costs more than my total outfit?! We paid AUD50.00 realizing that VIC is taking trash and rubbish very seriously.

This picture was taken during our usual drive to Drouin and stopped at Drouin Gourmet Café for a good heavy breakfast. This eye-popping café is totally cool, and I like how they displayed old photos of what is Drouin back in the days. The walls make this café Instagram-worthy!

Boots are from Salvos, and the jacket is from Vinnies.

Isn’t it this tree looks fabulous?!

We found this tree during our usual afternoon walks around Warragul. I do not know the name of this tree, but this is a local Australian tree that blooms spectacularly. When there is sunshine, you will be noticed that this tree glares like gold afar!

I’m wearing this custard-colored Lacoste jumper that I got from Salvos and my original Hermes scarf that I got from Mawarra Opshop. Who would have thought that I scored big time for this Hermes scarf (bought it for AUD$2.00) which got a current value of US$3000.

This makes me LOVE op-shopping even more!

My boots are multi-purpose! Great value for just AUD$12.00.

At least for once, we visited the Baw Baw Ski Resort and have a few minutes enjoying this snow! Due to COVID, the resort is currently closed, but you can drive for a quick look.

I’m wearing this winter coat that I got from Vinnies, beanie and gloves are made by myself!

Since I moved to Australia, I become a member of high society who swears the love for visiting hardware stores. Welcome to Bunnings, where I sourced our DIY materials for home, gardens, outdoor, etc., you name it. Also, the place where I got my plants, and home renovation materials, and I love every visit.

Wearing a mask when outdoors is a must. It was so cold and this wool coat is a great salvation.
Wool Coat – AUD$25.00 from Vinnies Warragul.

This photo looks like my house a creepy house during Halloween because of this depressing tree. All of its leaves are gone and waiting for this spring to give new joy.

This look is what I’ve decided to wear during our afternoon walk in the park nearby.
Remember this plaid skirt I DIY-ed previously and paired it with this white turtleneck top also from an op shop.

Oh, rosella such a beauty! I found this graffiti of a local bird called rosella during our usual walk in the park here in Warragul. One of the residents decided to paint his shed with this beauty, which I assume that the owner must adore this colorful bird. I found so many interesting birds that never been encountered back in the Philippines, and how lovely they are.

Here, I’m wearing this cowl-neck grey jumper that I got recently from Mawarra Opshop, pairing with my H&M maroon tights to protect my legs from cold.

And when I feel so lazy to dressed-up but still want to look cute, a fluffy dressing robe is always a good idea. I paired it with my handmade beanie and crocheted handbag with a gold chain, plus a cute flat shoe.

Then, finalized the look with a bold red lipstick. Always works all the time. Even during winter!

Hope my winter fashion looks will give you a little inspiration even just indoors.

Where I found these pieces?

    1. Same feeling. Though winter is fun (sometimes) having winter in the Philippines will caused millions of lives at stake, especially those living people on the street.
