How Melbourne Wives Spends their time in the Philippines? Lots of Style and Champagne!

The Real Housewives of Melbourne
These Aussie Titas experienced the Philippines' glitz and glam, and we can't blame them.

Travel is still semi-restricted here in Australia including interstate coz apparently Victorians are not welcomed (yet) to visit any Aussie states but, that will soon be changed in the coming weeks, and I am pretty excited!

Woot! Woot!

For now, I am spending my time learning and enjoying, travel, and culture from many Australian television shows, right in the comfort of my lounge. After all, we need to take advantage of this Foxtel subscription.

Recently, I’ve been enjoying watching the previous seasons of Real Housewives of Melbourne (for entertainment and research purposes), and I admit that the catfights, gossips, and bitching while with bottles of chardonnay and selected hor d'oeuvres are very entertaining.

Also, the glitz and glamour of these Melbourne Aunties are given me so much delight.
Anyway, In Season 2 - Episodes 7 and 8 are such a true delight when Melbourne Titas visits the Philippines! I did some little digging and I found that they went to the Philippines back in 2015. And I thought, when was I in 2015?! I missed something!

I could not blame these Titas for getting excited about the Philippines, because who wouldn’t?!
The Philippines is one of the most beautiful places in the world, and I am immensely proud that my favorite place is being featured in many Western shows, including here in Australia.

But Lydia, the Philippines is no third-world country anymore! Of course, we have traffic lights!

So where do these Aussie Titas stay in the Philippines?

Considered a VIP extension of the Solaire Bay Tower, Sky Tower exudes luxury without compromising utility — from the main entrance adorned with a glamorous Swarovski chandelier to the exquisitely decorated suites.

Renowned hotel and casino architect Paul Steelman (famous for designing numerous high-end leisure properties in Las Vegas and Macau) headed up the sleek, dynamic design.

Sky Tower’s courteous and well-trained staff — clad in outfits designed by celebrated local fashion designer and innovator, Rajo Laurel — represents fine Filipino hospitality, adding a whole new level of satisfaction to the all-suite Manila hotel.

This luxurious hotel has been awarded the prestigious 5-star Forbes Travel Award

Where to shop?

When these Aussie Titas shop, of course, they visit the Chadstone of Manila, and that is the famous luxury district is Greenbelt 4 Makati.

If you opt for true Philippine luxury, you must visit the Jewelmer, the country’s luxury jeweler famous for their exquisite cultured South Sea Philippine pearls, and fine jewelry. Jewelmer is a pioneer pearl producer that has successfully cultivated pearls with a rich, natural golden color. Through decades of biotechnological research, Jewelmer has perfected the breeding process that produces gold-lipped Pinctada maxima pearl oysters capable of growing large, lustrous, golden pearls. This deep gold color is characteristic of the South Sea pearls produced in the Philippines. As a fully vertically integrated brand, Jewelmer only uses pearls that come from our own farms. You are guaranteed that you receive only the best pearls handled with quality and sustainability in mind at every step of the process.

Where to dine?

These Melbourne Titas know exactly where to dine in Manila, no other than the alfresco in Greenbelt 3. You can enjoy the good view of a garden with a gorgeous pond with lovely koi. You can feel the Zen of dining, but the best hour for dining al fresco brunch is between 10:00AM to 12:00noon.

If you love champagne for brunch, just bring it to the table and enjoy every sip!

Although 71 Gramercy is permanently closed, it was one of the dining hotspots in the Metro. Our personal experience was divine, and you can also enjoy the perfect view of the city on their famous roof deck

What outfits to bring to the Philippines?

The Philippines is also a place to show your taste in fashion and has many places to shop. But if you want to bring your own outfits, make sure that it will suit the occasion. Remember that the Philippines has high humidity, so forget your leather, suedes, and coats.

This Melbourne Tita knows her way, and is smart to bring her Filipino stylist.

Where to relax and pamper?

When you visit the Philippines, you must go out there and stop wasting your time circling just around the corners of your hotel.

You are a true Melbournian if you know how to enjoy the luxurious life of living in the countryside, where you can enjoy good dining, relaxation, and a pure pampering experience. If you are from Melbourne and have been to Yarra Valley, then you will also look for a similar experience.
These Melbourne Titas did it right and drove out of the city and enjoyed a luxurious getaway in Batangas.

The Philippines is such a gorgeous country, and even though I am enjoying this new Aussie lifestyle (sans the housekeeper) the comfort of Pinoy home still lingers on me. I love to travel to many islands, and even my husband loves it (and thinking of moving permanently!).

As soon as we can travel again safely, I wouldn’t hesitate to pack my luggage and book the first flight to the Philippines.

In the meantime, check our many Philippine travel stories here, and dream of exploring this tropical country while sipping your favorite champagne.

  1. I have to say, I'm very impressed! I don't think knowledge of the Philippines has truly changed for most people. Even in America, I think most of us don't think of it as a hopping vacation spot because the people we met from there came years before changes in the positive happened. But this post has shown some amazing luxury that I didn't know was there!
