Tokyo Night & Light – Latest Projection Mapping Display to Catch in Shinjuku

To create the newest attraction to brighten the nightlife in Tokyo, "Tokyo Night & Light", a projection mapping display that uses light and sound as an expression of multi-colored art, was unveiled at a grand opening event on 25th February with the Tokyo Metropolitan Government Building, one of Tokyo's main landmarks, as its canvas. Governor Yuriko Koike gave a speech at the event on behalf of the organizers and there was a projection mapping display, exhibiting many different light and sound effects, accompanied by a live performance from the artist, Aimer.

The event was attended by 1,100 audience members who were selected in a draw from thousands of applicants, and it was a huge success.

This project went down in the Guinness World Records™ as the "largest architectural projection-mapped permanent display" with a projection area of 13,904.956 square meters.
