Every woman has that “little black dress” that makes them feel like they are on top of the world. But times have changed, and you can get all of that refined elegance, in powerful colors and patterns that are present in today’s fashion industry.

Now, there are styles for all events, cocktail parties, receptions, to just a night on the town. Step away from your old wardrobe, and let’s add some style!

In our eyes, there are three categories dresses fall into, and you should own at least one of each.

They are formal, business casual, and “after hours”. While the requirements will naturally change depending on what everyone else is wearing, a good rule of thumb is always check the dress code before heading out.

FORMAL

When one thinks of wearing a dress, formal occasions are the first to come to mind. Many women would prefer not to go out for the simple fact of matching their hijab to their evening dress, is sometimes as fun as finding a dress that fits (Not!). Well, thankfully, many formal evening gowns will have a hijab shipped with it, or have it incorporated into the design.

Formal occasions will warrant a more upscale look. Depending on the event, you may want a solid color, or perhaps a bold swirl that looks gorgeous on all body types. Weddings will typically be very light and colorful, whereas an acceptance gathering, or large work party will allow you to explore more fun designs and patterns.

Ugh. You got an invitation that says “business casual”… what does that even mean? Who says that anymore?

We have all been there, and simply put, it means to put on something nice, but remember, this is not a party, so no loud colors or designs.

In other words, you can have a lot of fun with these types of occasions. These include lunch dates, birthday parties, and for the most part, your work attire. Because no one wants to wear their uniform after hours, there are beautiful dresses that will complement your own personal style. Not to mention, they will allow you to look chic and fashion-forward, without spending hours finding the perfect fabric for your hajib.

AFTER HOURS

It’s time to bring out the rich colors, silk, and striking patterns. After work, it’s time to play. If you are going out with your girls, or your husband and really want to dazzle the crowd, wear bright lace, deep red, or supple plum purple. There is no shortage of nightlife for those of us who want to go out, so dress to impress and have fun.

So many women think that because of their wardrobe requirements. Thanks to these gorgeous dresses, you can go out and have fun, without feeling awkward in the crowd.
