When Fragrance Brings Back Memories

Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist, a limited-edition collaboration with Indonesian Actress Titi Kamal

What do you feel when you accidentally smell a familiar scent when you are walking one afternoon at the avenue you have never been before?

In my case, I felt excitement and no wonder that I will pause for a few minutes and think about that memory where I had smell it previously – the exact time, location, the weather, and even the people, and sometimes even the exact moment what I was wearing.

I could not helped it.

However indeed, fragrances brings back memories. Those good juices in that little bottle is like a memory capsule, properly stored in our memories and when the time is right, it gives us a surprising chance to reminisce those sweet moments.

That is the reason why, it is sometimes hard to shop for your signature fragrance. For some, it took them months, or even years before they finally met their signature scent that would translate to be YOU.

One afternoon of a busy weekday, I received a pink package from our beauty friends at Althea Korea– a debut of their scent collection called Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist, a limited-edition collaboration with Indonesian Actress Titi Kamal.

I read in some previous reviews by Filipino bloggers giving funny comments about the her name (apparently her name translate a Filipino male’s genital) – apology for these comments, they just have scarcity of vocabulary and only knows one translation of it.

Apparently her name Titi, means a colloquial term for “a young and spirited young lady” in French (nowadays this term is rarely been used), in Spanish her named means “Auntie”.

Did not use them immediately, not until I had this weekend at Grand Hyatt Manila for my usual me-time pampering. I decided to brought the scent with me and perhaps create a new memory during my trip.

This blend of sweet orange and peach, followed by an ever-graceful echo of rosy floral notes reminds me of that scent I used to wear back in college days, when I’m busy doing two of my favorite things – studying and flirting with the graduating college boys in the library, and using it for my own advantage. It was a silly college memories that brings back good memories – the rosy floral reminds me of those summer days outside the city, and exploring this beautiful garden own by my friend’s grandmother while having an afternoon tea under a century old tree and watching the boys playing football. It was a good feeling that it is hard not to smile, and this body sparkling mist scent reminds me of that good memories.

Ahh what a lovely young years I had!

However, not all memories last long. Just like some scent including this Stay Fresh Body Sparkling Mist. Having its sweet orange and peach as top notes, no wonder that the scent only last for 10minutes, 15-minutes most, not recommend for some who expects to smells good after lunchtime.
I recommend that you spritz some of this blend after your long good bath before bedtime. This way, your body will absorbed more the scent, and giving you a fresh scent before kissing good night your lovey dove.

Or sometimes I use this mist to spray on my pillows before I go to bed so that I could enjoy its rosy floral scent, while my Mon Amour cuddling me as we fall asleep.

Cost: Php400.00
Ratings: 3-stars, though you can reuse the container after you have consumed its contents.
Where to buy: Althea Korea website and app

  1. I am very sensitive to smell so this happens to me often! A specific food or flower scent makes me stop in my tracks and think about it! Sweet orange and peach sounds like a wonderful combination for a scent.

  29. This is so true. When I teach my essential oil safety classes I always mention that not every fragrace is the same for each individual. For example lavendar is supposed to be "soothing" however it makes me angry because of an associated memory. It's crazy how our minds work!
