Gossip Girl - Dressing like Audrey Hope

Gossip Girl - Dressing like Audrey Hope
As of this writing, the Gossip Girl reboot is now of its 6th episode and after watching (and watching from its pilot episode in case I missed something) this show still doesn’t compete nor can be compared to its predecessor.

I try my best to put an open mind, heart, and soul to understand this soapy drama, but still, the lingering feeling of Blair Waldorf strutting in her signature-styled school uniforms with her minions always haunt me (in a good way). Gossip Girl reboot is more woke and Gen-Z entitled upper-class high school students, who got more power than their Math teachers, a different generation compared from its original, but in my personal opinion – there should be a need to make a reboot. The OGs are still hot.

Not to mention that I find the Gossip Girl reboot creepy. Sexual predator teacher? A student bringing guns at school, including drinking and drugging whichever comes first.

For my Filipino readers out there, the newest Gossip Girl should be Rated-18. Not suitable for high-schoolers.

Honestly, I’m just watching this reboot just for their fashion. The product placement in this soapy drama is quite similar to the way rich kids in many K-dramas do it. I mean, in the name of fashion, who doesn’t love it?

In today’s blog, I would like to share with you the crochet piece that I made weeks ago, inspired by one of the Gossip Girl characters, Audrey Hope (a girl who is quite a predecessor of the OG Blair Waldorf, except Blair just like myself, believes in a monogamous relationship, and Audrey is blonde). The only similarities they shared are both characters love being in control, and they read books.

To recreate her cure striped knitted vest, I decided to crochet one using the available wools I have. Though I don’t have the exact color combination, I just used wools that have a closer shade for this look.

Anyway, it took me weeks to finish this vest because crocheting takes a lot of time, lol.

Watch my Tiktok video on how I made my version of Audrey Hope vest.

Having a white button-down shirt always comes in-handy. I used the oversized white button-down shirt that I got my the op shop, which also I used from my previous Gossip Girl Julien Calloway look

This Audrey Hepburn coffee table book and handbag are both from an opportunity shop! No wonder visiting many op shops around Australia is an awesome shopping destination.

I wish that my high school uniform days were this cute because, IRL I will be ended up in the principal office trying to defend my fashion taste, LOL.

What do you think of this HS look? Should I make a similar vest in a different color? Let me know!

  1. I agree with R-18 rating for PH. I am a big fan of the original GG but this new one is not bad for me. It gets too over the top if I watch continuously in a day. Lol! True it is so diff and so Gen Z. I am a milennial but I will still watch it haha! I super love the vest you made! I really like to try to imitate Audrey's style, too! Wish I can pull it off as good as you!

    1. Audrey Hope and Blair Waldorf shares some few interests, but Blair got her Dorota with her. Audrey Hope got a problematic Mother.
