A few weeks ago, I was wearing in full red outfit and here I am today greeting you on a great sunny day in full white.
I’m not shifting my gear into a minimalist lifestyle (probably won’t be happening for the next 20 years) however, wearing something non-dopamine is my way to refresh my brain from ideas that have been clouding my head for the past couple of days.
Probably, it is the creative side of me. Sometimes, all I need is to be on a blank canvas to get back on my drawing board.
I truly admit that it is a challenge for me to wear an outfit in full white, to the point that it is hard to grab a bite of my morning sausage rolls and dip it in tomato sauce. Imagine the mess that I would have been!
So, I thought to wear this full white ensemble that I recently made using the old duvet cover I had stashed from our linen cabinet. Although I love having a white sheet in our bedroom (so does my husband), we both prefer something plain white, without the 3D extras including embroideries because they are very uncomfortable for the skin during bedtime. However, I wouldn’t mind having those extra embroideries when I used them in my dresses.
I decided to upcycle them using the basic jumper pattern I used for my Barbiecore look, and the rest of the fabric creates a midi skirt using a basic sewing technique that I know.
It turned out to be good and satisfying the way that I expected, and perfect for the chilly but sunny spring day. The silhouette is classified as a staple piece, and I could imagine wearing this with my other upcycled pieces even during the winter season.
