DIY Christmas Treats, Asian-Style

Hello Ladies!

Few more days and HEY IT’S CHRISTMAS!

But believe me, I haven’t started doing my gift shopping. Not because I have no time (well shopping is my favorite time as my cardio, duh!) however, recently I just felt to be more practical this time of the year.

One of this it to do DIY Christmas Treats, Asian-style!

What I mean is to make a simple treats for my colleague at work, but seriously I don’t want to spend a lot, but of course the thoughts always counts right?!

So last week, I asked my colleagues to give me their empty Starbucks cups, after they diligently lined-up to earn those Starbucks stickers for a free planner (hope they really enjoyed that experience!). I want to give them something cute, in a random occasion.

Then I bought some locally made candies from the grocery store – NO imported chocolates and those with glittery wrappers (those only goes to waste bin).

Total candy costs – Php100.00

I got those classic White Rabbit candies, tamarind sweets, those ginger flavour candies, and even managed to get those coconut-flavoured candies. Ohh this is exciting!

Oh boy those Starbucks cups looks so pretty and just disposed after single use!

You can read my previous step-by-step tutorial here on how to recycle paper cups

I have this habit of not easily disposing those items that I think could be useful someday, like these satin ribbons from all the PR gifts I received in the past months, old Christmas decors and other trinkets, empty paper cups with cute designs, and even those printouts of press release as it is good to make as gift stuffers.

I called this tutorial as Asian-style because most of Asians doesn’t like to spend a lot (only for special occasions like weddings!) Although there are many fellow locals who loves to make their Christmas extravagant every year, I managed to brush-off that idea and still save for the rainy day, or for my next overseas trip!

This is my way of giving my contribution to save the environment for a lot of trouble and my pockets as well. Plus, it is a great opportunity to exercise my creative side, and gives motivation for me to work on my crafts.
