The Philippines is not only known for having 7100+ gorgeous islands and beaches, with at least 100+ local dialects, the only remaining Roman Catholic country in Asia, got the best pearl in Asia, and the country that gained the international title for beauty queens.
My beloved country Philippines also the place where you can found many artistic talents and designers that I am definitely world-class. We have many fashion designers that have been known internationally and even dress the people from many upscale societies.
Recently, I found this new collection of Philippine National Costumes, as interpreted by the new breed of fashion designers, in support of this year’s Binibining Pilipinas 2019.
RELATED POST: Philippine National Costumes made of indigenous materials
I couldn’t help to feel mesmerized by how gorgeous these dresses are, their creativity and imagination are beyond my comprehension.
Like every fabric and piece tells a story of each designer, and where it came from and also beautifully modeled by this year’s pageant candidates.
Scroll down SLOWLY and take it deeply (like I did) how gorgeous these dresses are. They are all costumed-made, truly one-of-a-kind.
Our traditional national dresses are inspired by the early Spanish dresses, with that gorgeous sleeve and that is alluring and mysterious. The designers then modernized the look using various materials, including the local weaved fabrics from different regions of the country, including the many indigenous materials that can be found for each town the candidates represent.
The dresses are truly a work of art, and with the use of different media to create these beautiful pieces, each designer has successfully showcased them with utmost pride.
These work of art wouldn’t be possible, thanks to these many creative fashion designers;
Dennis Celestial, Glennze Aquino, Jhong Ramiso, Amo Camay, Nono Palmos, Kari Akmad, Paolo Ballesteros, Larry Ybesate, Gerry Fernandez, Edwin Uy, Frederick Berches, Richardson Apayla, Amir Sali, Chico Estiva, Renee Salud, Mara Chua, Francis Hermogeno, Pablo Mendez, Benj Leguiab IV, Malayka Yamas, Federico Navarro, Louis Pangilinan, Michael Barassi, Ritchie Sabinian, Patrick Isorena, Vince Sityar, Tony De Ramos, Ryan June Castillo, Di Em Maghirang, Nat Manilag, Jay Conanan, Jobel Silvestre, Leonardo Dadivas, Erjohn Dela Serna, Apple Santillan, Emar Vida, Jomar Peralta, Jearson Demavivas, and Daniel Manila.

In my honest opinion, these creative dresses are more fabulous and significant than the recent MET Gala dresses. To our local fashion designers - well done!
