Anna Sui's Spring Summer 2025 collection embodies a blend of nostalgia and softness, infused with references to Andy Warhol’s early commercial art. The collection reflects Sui’s love for Warhol’s pre-Pop era, with a focus on pastels and prints that evoke a gentle and dreamy vibe. The designer collaborated with artist Paul LeRoy Gehres to create a cherub logo motif, bringing a vintage yet playful element to the collection, including ’90s-style shrunken tees.
Sui’s inspiration drew from travel, resorts, and country clubs, reminiscent of the beach vacation styles of the ’60s. This influence can be seen in the terry lounge sets, fluorescent jacquard micro-shifts, and silk-cotton voile pajamas. Cardigans with a retro vibe and bejeweled cat-eye sunglasses add to the collection’s sense of vintage charm. The ruffled pastel tulle prom dresses offer a whimsical yet youthful alternative to more mature prom styles currently in trend.
The collection’s demure and earnest nature was noted by Sui’s actor-niece, Chase Sui Wonders, who observed the unique balance of nostalgia and sincerity in the designs. The collection stands as a contrast to current fashion trends, capturing the essence of soft femininity with a playful twist, all while honoring the past.
Sui will present this collection alongside the launch of five new fragrances in the fall, continuing her tradition of blending fashion with her iconic sense of storytelling.
