How truly effective is the Korean Double Cleansing?

double cleansing technique

One of the good things I’ve realized in running this women’s lifestyle weblog is having a chance to discover new beauty techniques and constantly testing new beauty products available. I tell you I even can’t remember how many beauty products are now in the market (a hundred thousand, perhaps?) and one of our quests is to find the right one that suits our needs and skin type.

So for today, I’m here to share with you my personal take on the Korean Double Cleansing technique.

This is what I love about the Korean cosmetic industry. They keep on innovating and discovering new beauty products that suit every skin type for all genders of all ages.

Since last week, I’ve been testing the Korean double cleansing technique and see for myself how true and effective it is for me.

What is Double Cleansing?

During my pre-beauty blogging era, I was just washing my face with any available face soap I have, massaging it in a circular motion, and put some moisturizer after.

But that was a long time ago.

Until I’ve learned that what I’m previously doing is very wrong.

And this current beauty blogging era, I’ve learned to enjoy the glorifying effect of double cleansing.

Double cleanse starts with an oil cleanser followed by a foaming cleaner – you need to use two different formulas to thoroughly cleanse your face.

double cleansing technique

First, you have to cleanse your face with oil cleaner to remove those sebum, dirt, including your make-up. I’m using Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil (5ml, got this as a gift). This thoroughly washed off all the pollutants I’ve acquired during the day, at the same time give moisture on my face.

Just put a small amount of Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil on your dry palm, and smooth over to your dry face and neck. Then add a little water and rub your face and neck with a gentle upward stroke to remove that dirt for deep cleansing.

You can also use Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil as your make-up remover. Put a little amount on cotton balls, then start removing your make-up.

You may use Biore Cleansing Oil Makeup remover as an alternative. I also gave 5-star for these oil cleansers.

Rinse your face with lukewarm water.

Next is washing your face with cleansing foam.

I use POINT Deep Clean Cleansing Foam with Moringa seed (175grams). This foam cleanser deeply cleans my pores removed all those sebum and pollutants. It has a creamy white formula and has a mild scent of Moringa.

Adding some moringa seeds to this formula, a good antioxidant that lubricates and nourishes the skin.

Moringa contains:
• Two (2) times the amount of protein of yogurt
• Our (4) times the amount of Vitamin A as carrots
• Three (3) times the amount of Potassium as bananas
• Four (4) times the amount of calcium as cows’ milk
• Seven (7) times the amount of Vitamin C as oranges

After using cleansing oil and thoroughly rinsed off, squeeze a small amount of foam/cream cleanser onto your palm, mix it with a few drops of water and start lathering it first to your palm to make it foamy. Once it’s foamy put it on your face and massage your face in an upward motion. Then rinse it with lukewarm water.

Repeat doing the cleansing technique two (2) times a day – morning and night time and you’ll see its amazing result. I’ve just done this double cleansing for a while now (and just tried this POINT Deep Clean Cleansing Foam and Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil two weeks ago).
The double cleansing technique plus the products I’ve been using gives me that clean and fresh look, and not worrying about breakouts!

Yeah, I admit that during my pre-beauty blogging era I was a bit lazy and always in a rush in cleaning my face. And after all, constantly reading and doing self-studying online, I discovered I was doing it wrong. Changing my beauty routine isn’t bad after all! And I avoiding my laziness attitude towards skincare.

I tell you that being lazy makes you ugly.

Yup, it’s true!

(But we can’t blame cats for being lazy. They are born to be that way… and they are born as cute as ever!) LOL. Sorry no cats memes today coz he’s still sleeping, ZZZZZZZZ

double cleansing technique

I think that double cleaning works on me and it’s not actually that difficult.

In order to get the positive result that we want, all we have to do is consistently doing it day and night and we will achieve that glowing look!

I’m done washing my face and I’m ending my review here. Because I need to take a bath now, hahaha.

Hope ladies you’ve learned something from my quick review!

POINT Deep Clean Cleansing Foam (175grams) which I’ve purchased for Php200.00 recently at Sun Han Mart 24HR Korean-Store located at Bonifacio Global City. I’m not sure where else here in Manila you can buy it, but you can check it online through Amazon or any Korean online stores.

Celeteque Advanced Anti-Aging Cleansing Oil is available at most beauty stores nationwide!

What is your cleansing routine? Have you tried the double cleansing technique? I would love to hear your stories here!

xoxo, Blair

  1. Maybe this is what I've been doing wrong all along! Your skin looks amazing and I've had issues with my skin for as long as I can remember! This is one technique I haven't tried but I'm willing to risk it to see if it helps!

    1. Hello Kyla,

You should try it, and you can use any cleansing foam and cleansing oil available near you and suits your skin type. If you are a bit hesitant, try it first on your hand, twice a day :D It you haven't got allergies, then its good to go for your face.

Through this beauty blogging, I've learned that there is no such thing as too much when taking care of our skin. You should do it again!

    1. Hello Sheri,

You may use any substitute products - any variants of cleansing oils and cleansing foam is okay, as long as your product of choice suits your skin type.

You can grab a cleansing oil and cleansing foam for a trial pack, most of the beauty stores give it out for free. If the products suits you, then you can buy it in full size :)

  11. This sounds good! Your skin looks really clean, though! I think I need to try this one out. But lately I use the Aveda Tulasara: https://esseremoda.nl/stress-away-with-tulasara/. These products are amazing! My stress bumps on my forehead are finally gone :) X

  12. And I thought double cleansing was just doing it twice lol. I had no use you neede two different products. I think I would like the oil cleanser but having dry skin anything foamy is usually too drying for my skin. Glad you get to test out so many new products and I dare say there are indeed hundreds of thousands.

  14. Never even heard of double cleansing. I keep my routine extremely simple and fast. My skin never breaks out and so my mentality is, "if it ain't broke, don't fix it".

    1. Lucky you CJ! Weather also affects the skin to break out. We are located in a hot tropical weather which makes our skin fucks up every now and then, so that's why we're kind of obsessing to have a good skin... I personally put that on my life bible... I don't wanna see my self in the mirror wrinkled and old like a sharpay :D

  21. Looks interesting, you're giving me ideas to have more attention to my skin. I'm so lazy and my skin is very delicate, so it's rather difficult to find the right product.

Do you spend a lot of time on caring about your skin or is it more connected to a few precautions?

    1. I spend time (but not all my time) for taking acre of my skin, both morning and before bedtime. I don' have skin allergies, its just that having a good skin is nice... more reason to wear less makeup.
